Nov 30, 2010I rooted my phone a few days ago to remove all the useless apps that the phone comes with. I basically got ride of a code reader, some stupid games, and a bunch of "trial version" applications. I just noticed now that I can't download apps from the Android Market anymore, and this is probably what caused it. Everything else on my phone still works perfectly. When I try to download an app from the Android Market, I select the app to be downloaded, press "Install", then press "OK" when it gives me the list of what the app has access to. Once I press "OK" a popup appears that says "Your Item Will be Downloaded". That's it. Nothing appears in the notification bar, and the download doesn't go at all. So I guess my question is. what would I have deleted to cause this problem? I unrooted my phone again since. Maybe a google app or something? And if so, I need the APK for it! Yeah, yeah I was an idiot, I know. Don't mention it. Here's what I've tried so far after searching this issue: - Cleared the cache and updates for all Google-related apps

Nov 20, 2010Upon downloading the new software update I have lost all of my android market aps.
I have been reading of similar problems in other threads but mine is different so I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions
Heres what happened
I followed the backup instructions perfectly (INFO: The backup and restore i have on my phone wasnt on the phone originally, it was added by the sony ericsson Computer software about 2 weeks ago so i assume this is the most recent version)
I then downloaded the update. I turnt the phone back on, and logged into my google account as it instructed, and performed the restore.
My apps were not there. My contacts also didn't return.
Now, if this is because my backup and restore was the wrong version, is there nothing i can do? Please dont say my only option is remembering all my aps and downloading them again. What about the ones that were paid for?

Oct 25, 2010I'm trying to download some free apps from the "Market", does anyone know how long items take? I've tried to download a couple of free things 2 days ago and they are still downloading?
I know my internet is working ok as I can access Yahoo email and the browser no problem so my connection is ok?
But the blue "shimmering" download bar is showing saying "Starting download" but after many many hours still nothing?
Then it stops and I've got to restart it again?

May 26, 2010I'm only getting 8 on the left, 6 in the center and 8 on the right. I've seen pics of more (up to 16 per screen), but when I drag apps on, they don't stay. Am i missing something/ Search and google found me nothing.
I'm also barely making it through the day with battery life. It's only my second charge, but i had wifi/bluetooth turned off, juice defender activated in most modes, app killer working with very few apps running and the battery can barely make 16 hours. I'd would think I should be able to get 2 days out of it if everything is turned off and the phone isn't in use.

Jan 10, 2010I saw that the Nexus has 512 megs of ram which on plenty to run apps. I like the X10 overall better for the 8mpx camera, but it has only 256 for ram. Is this gonna be an issues for the x10? My friend who has a Magic said that there is a way to increase the ram by doing virtua memory on the SD card...You think it will work well on the X10 1gb internal storage? How well does the apps run on SD card?

When I go to the android market and look at the help front page there is a link called "Download Issues Troubleshooting page". The fix described in here does not work for my phone.How do I make my phone work properly again.Also, I am on Android 1.6 but I cannot upgrade to 2.2. Aug 29, 2010I got my new phone yesterday but cannot get applications from Market to download.
Here is what I do:
I select the app I want from Market and select 'Install'
Then I select 'ok'
Then a blue box reads 'Your item will be downloaded'
When I go into the Downloads section, the status bar isnt doing anything and it reads 'starting download' below it.
But nothing ever downloads or even partially downloads.
