Sony Ericsson Xperia X1/X2 :: Last Italian Rom Upgrade And Spb Mobile Shell 3.5.5
Aug 22, 2010After the last S.E. rom released upgrade i have also upgaded the last release of Spb Mobile Shell from ver 3.0 to 3.5.5.
1) The Spb MS panel selector disapear.
2) From the Home desktop is impossible to select or open other mask or menu. s very difficult also, shutdown the phone because the home desktop (Spb desktop like the WM standard dektop) prompt ahead and close everythink.
It seem that continuosly load the hom page.
The top icon flash.
Sometimes after power down and up, all work fine.
Spb support say the the problem in know but is not in the application upgrade, they think the problem is in SE rom upgrade.

Nov 10, 2010I bought a new original shell to change for my old one which have scratches. Now I realize I need some special screwdrivers to release the phone from the shell.
I don't have to mention what I think of this madness but does anyone know what types of screwdrivers I need or will I really have to send it in for service?

Nov 7, 2010I asked this on XDA and no one has replied so far, so I'll give this a shot here. And I thought this was worthy of its own thread cuz I was pretty clueless on where to go.
Ok, so I deleted the following things from my phone using Titanium Backup.
- Korean and Danish keyboards
- Moxier Mail
- Face Recognition
- Creatouch
- User Guide + User Guide Client
- Play Now
- Setup Guide
- TrackID
- everything Timescape (8 files in total) *ok, this seems to have screwed up my camera photos and won't read my SD card pictures or the pictures I had taken (except for 2 photos in total). If anyone has the original 8 files and can hook them up PLUS TUTORIAL ON HOW TO REINSTALL THEM, then that would be AWESOME! For some odd reason, I backed the files in Ti Backup, but they aren't showing anymore...so a heads up for people backing the core default files, be careful what you delete. Or are they stored somewhere else that I'm unaware of?*
Also, I'm really looking to get rid of "Voice Dialer" and "Office Suite". Anyone know if removing it will screw up any function of the phone?

Sep 8, 2010Is there any way to get rid of those friggin demo games and apps? I don't want any of those games, and I even don't want RoadSync and a lot of other preinstalled apps. I have to say that the X10 mini pro is just as cluttered with pre-installed crap ware like any Vaio computer; only there, I can just install my own Linux desktop and get rid of that stuff easily.

Oct 1, 2010I am extremely happy with my X10i, and yesterday I received and installed the latest update with no problems; however, I have a few questions:
1) Why is it that you do not give us "permission" to uninstall things such as the Moxier suite and PlayNow (which is unavailable to us in the USA) without us having to resort to the extreme of rooting?
2) Why is it that you do not give us access to equalizer settings? Again, only through rooting, can we get access to this. (note: the 3rd party apps in Android store are all junk) Would it be that difficult to add an equalizer in MediaScape?
3) Why is it that Skype comes preinstalled on the X1, but not on the X10? I'm on the T-Mobile network, and here in the USA, Skype for Android is only available to those on the Verizon network. I am forced to use Nimbuzz (which is a great application by-the-way), but it would be nice to have the actual Skype application that is available on the X1. If you got "permission" to preinstall it on the X1, I would assume you can do the same with the X10.
I truly believe that the X10 is an "iCrap" killer; however, if the little things I mention above were to be addressed, in my opinion, this would make a lot of X10 users happy, and make the X10 truly an IPhone killer in the eyes of others.

Nov 26, 2010So it was with much trepidation that I connected my phone up to get the update, what if I bricked it, what if I ended up with all the numerous weird and wonderful problems that people have been reporting..Well I bit the bullett and I have to say the upgrade zipped through quite happily and the phone is now up and running. Got to get everything set back up, I want my ADW back and got to get all my old apps installed from app brain but so far.... it's OK. Bit slow but I am guessing that it's still thinking a bit hard about stuff (I can sympathise!).
I like the fact that it recognises my arc swipe as that is what my hand automatically does anyway. Got all my contacts from Google, set up Timescape/Facebook/Twitter.So if this all goes well I might even root it (argh!!!) with that Z4root thingy. Gosh I am being daring today!

Apr 22, 2010I've been trying to connect the Xperia x10 that I received yesterday to T-Mobile data network but no joy. Everything else works ok except for the t-mobile data connection. I have tried everything, setting apn manually - even have reset the phone etc. In the mobile networks menu the Auto Internet Settings option is grayed out. This is a French phone that I got from Expanses US internet vendor. The manual is in French and its got a french wall plug. I had no clue I was buying an import as the web cite does not specify that it is an import and in the discussion with salesman it was never mentioned that it was an import but he assured me it had a us warranty and was able to connect 3g to t-mobile therefore I assumed it was a US phone. Sony Ericsson tells me this phone is not yet released in US.
