View 3 RepliesI can't seem to get a handle on how to get the calendar on my vibrant to sync with my google calendar. If I schedule something on google calendar it syncs to the phone and if I delete that event on the phone, it deletes on the google calendar. But an event created on the phone doesn't show online. Mail and contacts seem to work fine.
Help with this issue would be great. Is there a setting I'm missing? If there are any links to online resources about interoperability between the phone and things google, I'd appreciate that as well.
I have a quick question/issue on the Exchange Calendar support on the Vibrant. I can accept a meeting invite I receive just fine, but if I try and schedule a meeting from my phone and add recipients, an invite never gets emailed out. The event is sent to my exchange calendar, but not any of the recipients I specify.
View 2 Replies View RelatedHas anyone had issues syncing their Exchange calendar? I am only getting NEW appointments in my calendar, even though my mail and contacts are working correctly. My company has Exchange 2003 (I know, Dark Ages). I have searched the forums and have not found any RESOLVED threads relating to this issue.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have purchased the Samsung Vibrant about 45 days ago and last night got an error message that reads "process com.android.calendar has stopped unexpectedly, please try again." Any thoughts? I have tried to troubleshoot online.
View 4 Replies View RelatedJust got a vibrant and set up my google sync... and now the calendar app constantly crashes. can't make much of the dump file. Tried clearing data. Reinstalling using titanium backup.any ideas on what to do?Can I remove this completely and add the calendar app say from my wife's i9000 Galaxy S?Also, tried adding the calendar widget on Launcher Pro and it started crashing LP constantly too. somehow managed to fix it but had to tap quick before it crashed after restarting itself.Could someone post their titanium backup tar.gz file maybe?
View 1 Replies View RelatedThere are a few threads of various Vibrant/TouchWiz Calendar issues (Samsung Galaxy S). I am starting this thread to hopefully get a reply of all the various issues in one spot and maybe someone can get this list somewhere that will drive change. In my mind, a smart-phone's roots is a PDA + Phone. Yes, it is amazing that they can do much, much more now, which makes these phones that much better, but to me, the Calendar is part of their roots. These disappointments that I'm starting with were available in Android 1.5 which makes them all the more frustrating. I am bulleting these instead of numbering them because I'd rank them all at the top. Really, any issue that you are having out there, especially one that is a non-issue in stock Android, is pure neglect by Samsung.
- No ability to customize notifications in the TouchWiz Calendar. Anyone need a reminder ringtone that is different than your other notifications? You won't get one that stands out from the others in your Samsung Vibrant because you have no ability to change it.
-No ability to hyperlink in the TouchWiz Calendar. Let's say I am going to a wedding that is out of town. On my G1 I could enter phone numbers and address to the Hotel, Reception Hall, key contacts, and the like; so all I had to do was go to my trusty calendar and click on a hyperlink to get directions in my map or call people/places via the dialer, oh, and I'd know what time things started because it is a super useful feature in a calendar. Good luck doing this conveniently on the Vibrant's TouchWiz Calendar because it does not have this feature. Maybe the biggest disappointment.
-Repeating Events in the TouchWiz Calendar provokes issues when modifying . If I edit only a single event in a series of repeating events via my web-browser on my laptop, TouchWiz will duplicate the event, keeping the original event, but also creating the changed single event as a new separate event entirely.
I'm sure this is the tip of the iceberg because I've seen a number of posts. . . although I haven't seen any mention of the hyperlinking which I find an enormous help.opefully someone from T-Mobile or Samsung will review and implement asap. In the end, I may return my phone if I have no confidence in these being fixedI'd also love to hear solutions. I've tried all the market calendar apps I could. Gemini, Junte, they provide hyperlinking, but don't fix the duplicatation issue. All other calendar apps ultimately just click through to the native Touchwiz calendar.Given the specs on the current phones out there, these features should be included off the shelf. I've rooted my G1, but one shouldn't have to root to have basic features available to Android such as the above.
I have an Exchange account setup on my phone (Samsung Vibrant, running CM7.2).
Is there some way to prevent it from syncing email? I only want the calendar to sync, but I can't find an option to disable email syncing. Any apps that can accomplish this?
Constantly syncing email all day is really draining on my battery.
Well i tried out a rom (backed up first) didnt like it. so i restored my backup and now my phone is stuck on the vibrant logo. the tmobile ding plays but nothing. and for some reason my phone wont go into download mode and ADB wont work on my pc. it comes up and disappears rapidly. it open in cmd prompt but nothing.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI am new to Android, Google calendar and the Captivate phone. Have successfully imported my old calendar to Google Calendar which initially synced with the calendar on my captivate. However, when I add a new event to my phone calendar, it does not automatically show up on the Google calendar. the Samsung rep told me I have to edit each new even to mark it as a "Google Calendar". Is there any way to make this the default option on the Captivate phone? I am hoping to have automatic syncronization b/t the phone and the Google calendar without having to force it to do so each time.

View 6 Replies View RelatedOk, so I may be leaving the USA soon. I plan on unlocking my phone and going out of the country with it. I don't know how long I may be gone.maybe years, so here are a few questions.
1. I plan on going South Africa. According to this site, both the phone and 3g should work perfectly right? GSM World Coverage Map- GSM Country List by frequency bands
2. I have seen an app to unlock the Vibrant. It is by DaGentooBoy from XDA. Its called Samsung Galxy S Unlock. Would it be better for me to use this app or to just request T-Mobile to give me the unlock code. Are there any pros or cons for using either method.
3. If the OTA update or Froyo don't come out before I am gone, will I be able to get an OTA over wifi while I am in South Africa. Just to clarify, I will be using a local sim over there. I will discontinue from tmobile when I leave the US I know nothing of rooting. This is my first smartphone, so if possible I would be hesitant of doing any updates via the computer that requires me to loose all my info. I have too many apps and saved games and settings to download again so its just a scary thought of loosing it all.
4. Will google navigation work overseas. I have heard people say yes and no. I am hesitant to buy apps like co-pilot as they cost a lot and have mixed reviews, so I wanted to find out about this.
first:i flash my rom for bionix 1.4 for vibrant t959 now i have no radio since i cannot connect to the bell network for i dont know why
second: when i connect my phone via usb , the computer detect it fine but the phone suddently disconnect and a battery logo is flashing on it when i unplug it i have to turn the phone back on ...

The galaxy s phones were made for high end games. I want to find and try all the high end games for android, so please post which games you found...Here are the high end games I've tried and what I think about them:
Asphalt HD from Gameloft. I really love this racing game. Its on par with racing games made for the psp. I hope they release an expansion pack with more cars/tracks/events. N.O.V.A from Gameloft. A pretty good fps. It kinda reminds me of halo. I wish there was more weapons and enemies/bosses. note: you cant get this game from the market, you have to buy from the gameloft website. Dungeon Hunter from Gameloft. A standard rpg. Im playing this right now. my thoughts so far is that its a pretty good rpg for a phone but pales in comparison to handheld console rpgs. note: you cant get this game from the market, you have to buy from the gameloft website. Hero of Sparta from gameloft. its a hack n slash game. this is the only game from the gameloft hd series that I didnt like so far. I havent tried the other 5 HD games from gameloft but I plan on doing so.
I really want to try all the high end games for android so please any games you have found

View 1 Replies View RelatedMy phone keeps turning off randomly, and I have to do a battery pull to turn it back on. Is this a common bug? Or what do you think is causing it?
View 7 Replies View RelatedI've been looking around for a while trying to see if anyone posted something like this and I have not found anything quite like what is going on with my phone. I got my pattern code wrong enough times so my vibrant is requesting I enter google account information in order to let me in. I have not been able to access the phone this way since it will not accept the google info I am inputting. I know my username and password are correct since I have verified them on my computer to ensure that I am using the correct information.
I have followed the instructions for accessing the recovery mode menu..and have deleted user data and cache twice, and the phone is still prompting me to enter my google username and password. I contacted TMobile support and they were useless. Is there any way for me to bypass this screen? What is the proper way to do a real master reset of my phone that will actually delete the data I have already inputted into the phone?
I am somewhat freaking out because I just bought this phone today, and cannot believe this is happening. I've been searching these forums and online for hours looking for a solution but nothing that I have found has worked. If I could get the phone back to factory settings that would solve the issue, but I can't find a set of proper instructions that actually delete the data since the phone is still prompting me for the google information due to my getting the pattern code wrong.
I have tried multiple times to try to add pictures from my pc to phone by using the usb cord. When I add the picture to the folder that contains the photos on my photo gallery on my phone it shows on the computer but not on the phone.

View 1 Replies View RelatedAfter several attempts trying to apply Lag Fix, my phone ended up doing endless boot loops and due to my ROMs being on the SD Card instead of Internal SD, I could not flash it and seem to not have access to somehow get the ROM file from External to Internal SD. I then tried to restore the Stock ROM through Odin and it failed miserably, with several stalls that eventually led to the screen shown below. This screen stays on when I press the power button and nothing else seems to work. Removing SIM and SD Cards also did nothing.Phone is still under warranty and I have insurance, but not sure if I can claim warranty in its current state.
View 12 Replies View RelatedSo i rooted my vibrant, i did not use the 1 click root so its not as simple to unroot it. I did not realize that once you root you wont recieve OTA updates. Since i am a complete newb to phone hacking and currently see no benefit for myself to having it rooted i want to revert back to non root. How do i do this?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI was really hoping to save 55% off the cost of the Tmobile Gel Case but alas it was not to be. When my wife saw the case installed on the phone she said "what the heck?" That's because the case fits the Vibrant unevenly. And it doesn't wrap around the bezel fully.
Here is my review:
The Amzer "Silicone Skin Case" is completely unacceptable to me in terms of fit, feel and function. The Vibrant is a top of the line, expensive and amazing device deserving of quality accessories. This case is basically junk and not commensurate with the quality or value of the Vibrant.
First the fit: It slides onto the Vibrant easily enough (too easily in fact - it feels like it might fall off) and the cutouts are all lined up with the camera, USB, etc. However, the case barely fits around the bezel and it fits the face of the phone unevenly so you can see the bezel on one side but not the other side. The last point about the fit is that the phone feels like it could pop out of the case if you squeezed the sides; this is a very unsettling feeling. A case should make you feel more secure not less and it shouldn't detract from the quality appearance of this device.
Second, the feel: The case feels much too thin along the sides, the corners feel nice and thick as they should be to protect the phone. The sides however offer little in the way of protection. It just feels cheap and not nearly thick enough to offer much protection.
Third, the function: I bought a case to protect the phone from damage in the event it is dropped. I want protection around the bezel and the sides and back of the phone. The Amzer case only seems to protect the Vibrant on the corners where this case is thicker. I feel like if I dropped the phone and it landed on the side there would be little to prevent the phone from being damaged.
Needless to say I was disappointed when I tried the Amzer on my Vibrant this afternoon. So much so that I immediately called Amazon to arrange for its return. I have the Gel Case from Tmobile which by comparison is vastly superior although 55% more in price.
In this case you get what you pay for. And I do not want to skimp on protection a device as valuable as the Vibrant. Let's see, save $6 on a case for a $500 phone? No way, not when it's ugly when installed, feels cheap and insecure in the hand, and offers less protection. The Tmobile case fits snugly, wraps evenly around the bezel, is thicker to better protect the phone in the event of an impact.
I give this case 1 out 5 stars. The Tmobile Gel Case gets 4.5 stars.

Someone confirmed it there. This would make this the only other Tmobile branded android phone to work with the cheap data plan other than the Behold 2.
For how long who knows, the behold 2 has been going on for years, but tmo, nor anyone really cared about that phone
Is there any way that I can create backups for the vibrant that work without installing and reinstalling the voodoo lag fix everytime? I know that clockwork recovery doesn't work with voodoo installed, and messes up my phone if I try it.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a question for all you rooting mavens. How, if at all, will rooting my Vibrant effect the pending Froyo and TMO updates that are due out soon. Will the updates take place the same as if the phone was not rooted at all or must other steps be taken to take advantage of the pending updtates.
