Does anyone know how to recieve contact information that is sent from a Blackberry?I have had several people try and send me other people's contact information, and it is a Vcard or .vcf file and my phone will not recognize it, so the information is not readable and it is making it hard for me to do my job.Can anyone please help me with this issue?

I've already done the update but both pre and post update, my Moment intermittently won't respond when getting a call. The call comes in, I hear the ringtone but no matter what buttons I press, the phone won't respond. I have to wait until voicemail kicks in or the call has ended.
I called Sprint technical support and they're going to send a new (I hope it's new) phone. I hate to set up the phone for the third time. Is there a fix or should I just bite the bullet and get the new? phone? Has anyone had this problem?
What experiences have you had with replacement phones from Sprint?
Should I be worried about getting a lemon phone?
I cannot find the where I change my User info on the "Lock Screen" ... (Where it says ... " This Phone Belongs To".
View 4 Replies View RelatedI am a Sprint customer looking for an Android phone for basic functions. I am trying to choose between the Hero and the Moment. I have 1 of each right now from Sprint, on the 30 day trial. Here are the challenges I find with each. Does anyone know of any fixes for these?
Hero
1) Phone hangs up during calls because of lack of proximity sensor
2) Speaker phone wont turn off once activated, unless I end the call
3) Vibration mode is very weak and basically useless. Cant feel it in my pocket
4) Sprint Navigation does not work
Moment
1) Battery runs out before end of day
2) Bluetooth is spotty and wont always connect
3) Web navigation not as smooth as Hero.
Ive been on Sprint for a few years now, currently using the Diamond which is the biggest pile of trash ever pushed on to a mobile phone user. With the Big promotions I tried getting the moment throught best buy 179 deal for existing customers but sprint told best buy that I wasnt at 22 months on my current contract ( which is the 500 sero plan through 8/1/2010 ) so I cant get and upgrade ( except 75 bucks off the msrp through sprint ). Im pretty pissed, what options do I have?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have been wondering over the last few days since getting an Android phone and trying to configure it to make it at least as productive as my previous smartphone. How secure is the information in a world where we put a large amount of personal info behind google-id and password? This id and pwd is plugged into the phone for functionality. We browse the Android Market for necessary apps provided by complete strangers and click Install. We click OK when caution is raised, with unknowing consequences and taking complete responsibility for the installation. Am I justified in being paranoid with Android model of doing things?

My phone has the rooted 2.1 dd10 version or whichever and I am not receiving picture/video messages. I called Sprint and they said I was "in the red." We tried everything over the phone to try to get around the issue without having to reflash. Any other ideas? I tried pulling the battery for 2 minutes, changing the MSID number.The MSID number won't stay.It goes back to 0000000. Any other ideas or is reflashing the way to go?

Anyways, when there is an auxiliary cable, or headphones I'm assuming also, plugged into the phone, I can hear the person who I call/who calls me, but they cannot hear me through the phone. Is this true with everyone's phone? Listening to music and then having someone call me while it is plugged in is very annoying as I have to hang up on them and call back.

View 6 Replies View RelatedSo I've been less than thrilled with the Moment since purchasing the phone in April. Battery life stinks, camcorder quality is terrible (especially with the 2.1 upgrade), camera is fair but severely lacking in features, the phone has slow touch response times, and it's ridiculously bulky. I have wanted to put some videos up on youtube of me performing some of my music and the quality of the camcorder is so bad that is not an option. I have held off purchasing a separate Flip camcorder because I knew there would be a smart phone by Sprint that had a full-fledged camcorder integrated with the phone.At the time I bought it, it was simply the best smart phone Sprint offered. But the Samsung Epic 4G is going to be the phone I wanted initially. The specs are incredible, and since I won't use a phone without a slider keyboard the phone is perfect for me. Besides being much faster and full-featured than the Moment, the form factor seems a good bit slimmer than the Moment too (I've seen pictures of the phone only, but you can tell it's slimmer in the pictures).

View 1 Replies View RelatedI like how contact shortcuts are done in Android 2.1, where you click on the contact shortcut and a quick menu showing phone, contact card, SMS and email are shown. I also like how when you click one of those items, you get to choose, for example, Text Home or Text Mobile. What I seem to be noticing, though, is that if I check the box that says, "Do this action by default" or whatever it is, then it does things by default for all of those actions. For example, if I check that box when I select "Text Mobile," because, really, I'm never ever ever ever going to text someone at home, then I go and select the call icon, rather than asking me if I want to Call Home or Call Mobile, it just calls (in this case, mobile). Anyone know how I can straighten this out and have my "default" only affect the one action?
View 2 Replies View RelatedDoes anyone know how to add a pause to a contact #.For instance I want to use google voice, have it dial my GV#, then pause, then enter 2, then my contact # to dial out.Unfortunately I've not figured out how to program in the pause. On my centro it was easy, just use "p" for pause. So I enter this "gv #, p, 2, p, contact #" and it worked fine. Have not figured out how to do this on the moment as "p" doesn't work.

View 4 Replies View RelatedSo i have had the Moment (on Sprint) for a while now, and there is one problem i can't seem to fix. The phone seems to constantly drop the area code off of ALMOST all messages I recieve from just one specific contact. So when I go to reply to that person, i get a 9230 error (not using a ten digit number) and i have to go to my contacts screen and choose to send a new message from there. Anyone have any ideas to fix? I have tried clearing the cache and using a different SMS software, all with the same problem.

This is because the application layer of the phone is not receiving the hardware layer's data correctly (hold talk button, end call button, and middle button upon starting up your turned-off phone, this boots in test mode which shows you hardware layer battery power, aka the correct battery life estimate). It's causing another problem because some applications can't be run when the phone THINKS it's about to die.

This appears on top of an activity with an 'Done' button, however when the edittext is selected and the soft keyboard appears, the keyboard obscures the Done button at the bottom of the dialog. The feature I'm looking for is a screen with all letters of the alphabet and I just single click on the letter to get all the contacts that start with the letter. View 6 Replies View RelatedI didn't like having my phone numbers showing up in my email contact list, so I turned off contact sync and deleted all the phone numbers from my iGoogle contacts. I do not seem to be able to manage my contact list in my phone, however -- none of the default numbers are the ones that I chose for my previous phone and seem to be in a random order -- and I wondered if putting them into google online would be the way to manage them. I don't send email from my gmail account and don't really need them anyway.
I deleted the emails in my contacts and turned the sync back on. However, I got an error message saying that to sync I had to delete 34 contacts. I assumed this was my phone list, and I didn't want to do that! I thought I told it no and cancelled it, but I just went in to call my child's daycare and my contact list is empty. Is there anyway to get that back? Or am I stuck with repopulating the list all over again? Also, do I have to use the online google to manage the contacts? Or is it in the phone somewhere and I just haven't figured it out yet? After this, I would prefer to not try synching them again.
In the thread where some users where posting their screenshots, I saw what appeared to be contacts as a shortcut on one the main screens. I was just curious how or what program is used to do this. Any help? Here is an example.
