View 1 RepliesAfter installing the galaxy drivers several times on windows 7 64 bit and after spending a lot of time searching the drivers for this OS, I decided to create a thread with the links to the drivers: for the fastboot (for flashing a new recovery img) and for the adb (for flashing firmware using odin when the phone is in download mode):
The link: MEGAUPLOAD - The leading online storage and file delivery service. I suggest it will be a sticky, since last night I spent 1 hour in the stickies until I found these 2 drivers.
I would like to know the device model number for android devices like "model number" = 'T-Mobile G1'. can any one please tell me how to do it.

View 2 Replies View Relatedwhen the Optimus V came out, I found a thread either on here or XDA about how to change the model number to think it was a different phone. I did this to allow for the usage of Netflix, and I think I may have changed it to a Nexus model..
My current phone, the Optimus F7, is rooted and running stock Android 4.1.2 JB. (I rooted in order to allow for uninhibited tethering from my carrier.)I have browsed here, XDA, and countless pages on Bing and Google... yet I have found nothing about doing this... to any phone. My only desire (not the phone) is to make my F7 think it's - at least - a Galaxy S3. Many of my friends, coworkers and family have the S3 and I figure out things and solve problems on their phones, yet I find nothing on my own, so I simply wanted to turn it into an S3.
I am aware that I could simply get an S3, but I have had horrid luck with Samsung devices (not software) in the past, but have had wonderful luck with LG devices.
When connecting my Galaxy-S to the Samsung Kies software, my telephone shows up with an incorrect telephone number. I did change the sim-card (and subsequent number) since first using it, but I never logged intio Kies with the old sim-card.The phone is rooted. How do I get Kies (or my Samsung phone) to show my current telephone number? In the phone properties (Menu, Settings, About, Status) the same wrong number is shown. When calling, the receiver sees the correct telephone number. So the issue is not operator related but telephone related.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have had the SGS for a few days.
It must be possible to add more than one number to a contact, but I can't find it.
I thought that Samsung would have a better manual on the net, but I can't find that either.
Any ideas?
I keep getting a message of "Error validating phone number" when I click on my blue mail tab. Anyone know what I can do to stop this happening.

View 16 Replies View RelatedI'm using Android 2.1 on the Galaxy S.I have multiple numbers defined per contact, e.g. mobile, work, home. Whenever I make or receive a call, the name is shown, and the phone number is shown underneath the name instead of the type that the number is associated with.Any way to show the type (mobile, work, home) instead of the number itself? Otherwise are we supposed to memorize which numbers belong to work, mobile, or home?I don't even see any icons, or colour changes that would signify one of the types.

View 5 Replies View Relatedafter changing some router settings (like the number of the channel) my SGS2 on 4.0.3 ICS doesn't connect anymore. WiFi itself is working fine, except the AP of the router i changed. Deleting all AP information and reentering all WPA2 data will change nothing. In my eyes the phone is not forgetting AP data completely when you try to delete an AP entry.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have helped some friends updating their SGS phones with the new software from the samsung firmwares website. However, now I'm stuck with a problem on one of the phones: It simply won't go into download mode. Normally, I press the volume down + menu key and while pressing them I push the power button. But nothing happens, excemt the phone starts up just like normal. I've done it the exact same way with all the models, but this model does not react like the rest of them. Today, I successfully updated 3 models this way, but model number 4 would not go into download mode. The model has the JM2 firmware now. The other 3 models had JM1 firmware, even though they were all purchased at the same date. Is there another way of getting the SGS into download mode?

View 1 Replies View RelatedJust spotted this on Amazon: Amazon.com: Amzer 1600 mAh Lithium Ion Standrad Battery for Samsung Captivate i897 and Samsung Vibrant T959: Cell Phones. I'm honestly happy enough with the existing battery -- I have to try REALLY hard to kill it in a day -- but every extra mAh helps, right? Too bad this one is only 100mAh better than stock. Doesn't really seem worth $50 to me. But maybe, since this is listed as their "Standard" battery, they've got an extended one coming down the pipeline. I'd spend $50 for 2000mAh, easy.

(1) Download & apply update.zip
(2) Use z4root app from market
(3) Use SuperOneClick for PC

View 1 Replies View RelatedMy wife recently got a SGS and we have just tried to download Kies so that she can put some music etc on it (she has a 16GB microsd card in it). However, when we try and install Kies it gets to the installation phase and then at the stage where it prompts you what to install, I selected "instal all" and then it thinks about it and comes back a minute later with a message "unable to connect to file server".Is this a common problem people have had? We are running Windows 7 64 bit, so I dont know if there is a compatability issue? If we cant get Kies to download (and I called their support line and of course no-one answers) is there another way to get data onto the phone and external card? Will I need to buy some kind of adaptor so that I can connect the microsd card and just treat it as any external hard drive?
