How can I get my epic to only sync to my gmail calendar by default? When I create an event I need to tell it what calendar to sync to and that gets old.

I am trying to determine whether the Epic will sync with Outlook for email and calendar, but it does not seem so.Is anyone aware of a solution for this?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a Droid, and my friend just got a Samsung Epic, so I am trying to show him things.He has a google account (not a gmail account, not a google apps - a Google account with his own email address). He wants to sync his contacts and calendar.On my Droid, I go to accounts & sync > add account > Google > enter my address and password.i get offered to sync Calendar and/or Contacts, by clicking on the check box.On his Epic, he adds the account, but there are no options, no check boxes! Is this different somehow? It works fine with his gmail, but not his generic Google account. On my Droid it all works fine and everything is in sync.

I don't have Outlook so I'm looking for another way to do this. Making your events on your phone can be tedious so it's just easier for me to put them in Gmail calendar.

Have successfully imported my old calendar to Google Calendar which initially synced with the calendar on my captivate. However, when I add a new event to my phone calendar, it does not automatically show up on the Google calendar. the Samsung rep told me I have to edit each new even to mark it as a "Google Calendar". Is there any way to make this the default option on the Captivate phone? I am hoping to have automatic syncronization b/t the phone and the Google calendar without having to force it to do so each time.

I now get my gmail in both apps, is there a way to stop the gmail from retrieving my email without affecting sync with contacts and calendar?
Can I stop the gmail app from running all the time if so how? everytime i check task killer i have both email apps running.
I have two gmail accounts. My primary works find on my DX. I have shared my second calendar with my primary and my appointments for both show up fine online, and in my DX calendar list, it says my second calendar is on there, but nothing is showing up. I've tried adding new appointments both on device and computer, but they don't sync for that calendar.
Am I missing something? Or does anyone know of a calendar app that will sync with a second gmail calendar?
I have a droid x and cannot get the gmail calendar to sync with my android calendar. Can use the mobile web version but not the phone calendar so thus i am not getting reminders, etc. Already installed the google outlook calendar sync app but that is still not linking my gmail calendar to my phone.

I have the sbcglobal account in the email app and then the other 3 in the gmail app. How can I switch between the 3 gmail accounts?? Well my contact list has an entry for every person I've ever sent an email to - I literally have thousands of entries in my contact list. Can I fix this to only import my phone contacts? We us to do this all the time with our Blackberries and it was a life saver. I just created a gmail account to that is all new to me as well. Can I set default notification time & type (email vs pop-up) from within this app across all calendars, individual calendars, or not at all? If I open Google Calendar on a PC, I know how to set default notifications on a per calendar basis, but cannot figure out how to do it within this Calendar app.

View 3 Replies View RelatedMy wife has a new EPIC upgraded in the past week or so from a Samsung Moment.It appears that the stock EPIC calendar app has only ONE alarm/reminder.I have an EVO and use Jorte but the stock calendar app on my EVO and Jorte allow MULTIPLE reminders for a single calendar event (e.g., a 10 minute alarm, a 3 hour alarm and a 1 day alarm).Apart from her installing and using Jorte, does the EPIC stock calendar app have ONLY ONE alarm for a calendar event?

I am trialing gcal because at some point i might switch to gmail and gcal completely from outlook/yahoo. All entries that i input in gcal sync to my phone fine but any new entries that i input into my phone do not sync to gcal. I have checked sync settings on my Desire are turned on for calendar and contacts. Syncing via mobile web instead of wifi. All previous calendar items have syncd to gcal but any new items that i put into my desire calendar don't sync to gcal or vice versa. I also can't get any of my contacts from my desire to sync to gmail webclient. (this is the first time im starting to use it for email instead of just android market).
View 1 Replies View RelatedI work in IT at my company and support mobile devices and their connection to our exchange server.One of our employees got the Epic 4g and she continues to have issues with ActiveSync not downloading emails right away. For example, this morning she had about 25 emails come in and on her Epic it showed the last email being from yesterday. I tried to manually refresh the email on the phone and it did not download any new emails. I rebooted the phone and it started downloading all her emails. This is not the first time this has happened. This is a normal occurrence for her. It will not download anything for a few hours to a few days then download everything at once.I know it is not an issue on our side as we have about 20 iPhones and about 15 Android devices working fine including my Evo. So far, she is the only one in our company with an Epic however we have about 3 employees that are about to leave their Blackberries and iPhones for the Epic and I have told them to hold of until we resolve this issue.

A previous thread states you have to choose "google calendar" when generating an event on the calendar on the phone, however, when I try to edit the event, under "Calendar" the setting is "My calendar" but I can't change the setting (tapping on it does nothing)

No problem with appointments / events created on desktop syncing down to phone. Problem Identification: Default calendar when creating appointment / event on phone was calendar called "Phone". There is no calendar on desktop called "Phone". Solution: Pick different calendar when creating an appointment / event on your phone.
