overclocked captivates. Has anyone actually tried 1.2ghz overclock on the samsung captivate and if so how is it running? Have you had any issues, bugs, etc. I'm highly tempted to try this myself. I ran the one click lag fix and am pretty please with the results.

I have this smartbox to connect to my tv: URL.... with android 4.2.2..I followed all the instructions in this site (it is in portuguese): URL>....I've sucessfuly root it but now I have an issue, the processor instead of being at 1.5Ghz is locked at 1.2 Ghz and it is recognized by CPUZ as a 1.2 AM8726 ARM Cortex-A9. If I use cpufrills I can put the speed at 1.5 but he still fixes at 1.2,is there any solution? I dont have a backup of the original system because the recovery that loads from the SD card to do root is too primitive.

View 5 Replies View RelatedBuddy told me to put kangerade and chevy lv 1.2ghz on it. I'm not new to the root game and i've done it to a few eris phones. I got everything installed correctly two days ago but yesterday and today, the phone seems to soft boot every now and again for no particular reason. It doesn't go all the way to the mas a hard boot would, but it goes to the droid logo and reboots from there. I'm running the newest version of Kangerade with chevy 1.2ghz low voltage kernel.

For example i'm running BB0.1 and Chevys LV 1ghz kernal do you just trust that you're actually OC'd or is there a way to see what you're running at? If this question is dumb just let me know, i was just curious. Phone runs great with my setup.

Is it legit? Is the talk android website legit, I've never been on it before.
If anyone can confirm this, that would be cool, I still don't have my Droid X yet.
(apparently it doesn't run very well because of the amount of voltage it puts out, but is it even possible to overclock it the DX without fooling with the bootloader?
There have been a few queries here and there about kernels which are noted as being overclocked by the developers of the ROMs they're used in.
Zach, the developer of the xtrROM series, tells me this about those kernels (when asked for clarification about them):
* A kernel that is capabile of being overclock does not mean the ROM is OC by default and you will have to review the devs OP to determine what they have done.
* Most DO NOT OC by default because they are using another devs kernels (there are only a few devs that know kernel code, I use Zanfurs) and
* IF it IS OC by default then you do not "need" SetCPU or other such app unless you want to use the custom profiles as you mentioned.

My main issue with trying these is I'm wondering what the battery life is like with these? Running the CPU oc'd I would imagine sucks more battery, anyone wanna confirm or deny this? I'm currently on fresh 2.1.2 and though it is snappy, its really no different than the official 2.1 release I was running rooted and I'm looking for more now, just over 2 mflops on linpack if that helps clarify.

View 13 Replies View RelatedIt's only been about three hours, but I've been running my Senseable 3.1 at 806/768 with no ill effects that I can see; nothing but speed and quickness all around the device's apps and menus.
Battery levels don't look any different from when it was running at the default 528.
Still testing, of course, but I have to admit I am startled at this because my first few tweaks on other ROMs would freeze the device when I attempted to go over the mid 700s.
I am of course wary, and will be watching, almost expecting something bad to happen down the line; we'll see.
What is the highest successful setting you have used or are using now?
So the Droid X comes with the TI OMAP3630 Proccessor... which is rated 720 MHz... But the Specs say the phone runs at 1 GHz. So is the phone Overclocked stock? or am i getting somthing wrong.

I was using simple free phone earlier which doesn't require data plan but after two weeks I bought samsung captivate, AT&T added $25 data plan. I got my phone from AT&T store where my friend works so he took my data plan out of the plan for now but he said they will find out and add into your plan again. Also, He said that they recognize by your IMEI number. My question is: Is there anyway I can change my IMEI number? I was thinking to use my simple free Nokia phone's IMEI number and use it for Samsung Captivate so AT&T thinks that I am using Nokia phone.

It happens at the top of the screen just to the right below the battery. It's a quick yellow glow then it disappears until my phone is locked then unlocked again. Now I have an AT&T captivate and wonder whether GPS or other apps will work. Does GPS require a data plan to work? If so I'll have to figure out whetted I can add this to my T-D1 plan. This will also answer my question about whether using the Captivate for navigation in the US needs a data plan to work.

However neither Super Manager or ASTRO will allow me to uninstall the crap ware on my phone. Is there something I'm missing? I followed all the steps at XDA. View 2 Replies View RelatedNoticed since I work in a rather quiet environment. During office hours I need to keep it on vibrate mode. When the phone vibrates during a call, it causes a severe rattling noise when the phone is in my hands or if the bottom is not resting against a hard object. Removing the battery compartment cover and repeat, and the rattle is non existent. With the battery cover on, the rattle can be diminished by pressing firmly on the top section of the cover.
