View 1 RepliesThe name of this post says it all... And before I updates, I unrooted, un lag faxed, un lots of other things. Now I'm trying to root my phone again through the one-click lag fix so I can get everything up and running again (I NEED barnacle to work), but I need to enter recovery mode, and no such luck... I've tried like ten times now: I hold down volume up, volume down, and the power button, but no luck... it used to work but not anymore.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI rooted my Hero using the manual rooting guide in this forum. everything seemed to go fine. Since then, I have tried ROM Manager, entering recovery mode using adb, holding down the volume button and pressing the end button, and holding down the home button and pressing the end button. They all have the same reaction, the phone will come up with the htc logo and then the screen goes blank and then the only thing I can do after that is remove the battery. Sometimes the only thing that is different is the htc logo will stay on the screen and freeze at that point, once again requiring me to remove the battery to do anything. I have tried this using three different recovery images 1.2.3, 1.5.2, and 1.6.2...all of them have the same outcome when I try to enter recovery.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI am stuck at step 8 in the manual rooting steps. When I type in the recovery boot, I don't enter into recovery mode. Instead, all I see is nothing but the white HTC, standing there unless I take the battery out and boot it back to regular OS. Do I have to hold home button and power button, immediately after I enter -recovery boot? and what button is the power button to make sure?
I know I did the first few steps of the inputing codes correctly, but how do I know I flashed my recovery image 1.6.2 correctly? When I typed into cmd: flash_image recovery recovery-RA-hero-v1.6.2.img
I immediately got that # sign below it. Do i have to wait for a minute or so before doing recovery boot? I know I pushed my recovery to my SD correctly, it says the kilobytes on the cmd screen and can find it on SD memory.
And one more thing" I typed in both these codes as written: adb push recovery-RA-hero-v1.6.2.img /sdcard and flash_image recovery recovery-RA-hero-v1.6.2.img throughout the rooting process. Does it matter if I put a "c" after "hero" in both of those codes, because when I do, I get no file and directory error. And the reason I took out the "c" was because my file was named, recovery-RA-hero-v1.6.2, originally when I downloaded it, so that is probably why I got the error of no file directory when I added a "c" after hero in those coding inputs.
Hi, I have spent the last hour trying to get my Samsung Captivate into recovery mode. I have tried what seems like hundreds of different combination of power plus volume buttons with different lengths of time, but none have worked. Does any one know if there is a way to enter recovery mode from Terminal on a Mac? If so how?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a Droid Incredible that I rooted with UnRevoked3 about a week ago. I want to do a hard reset, but it just sticks at the first white "HTC Incredible" boot screen. I get the same result if I try to enter recovery mode. I can get into HBOOT ok by pressing the vol down and power button, but if I select any option it locks on the "htc Incredible" boot screen. I searched around for this problem for an hour and I've come up dry.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI seem to be having problems getting access into recovery mode. It's a brand new Captivate and it came preloaded with Firmware 2.1-update1I tried variations on this, but from everything I've heard, this should work just fine: Hold both volume buttons while powering on and keep holding the power button 3 seconds after the ATT logo appears (before it power cycles itself). Nothing triggers, and it just boots up normally.I've also tried the "One Click Root/UnRoot" method, with no luck.Has ATT gotta more aggressive with locking us out?

I recently bought XOLO Q1000 opus. I want to Hard reset opus due to some issue with its WI-FY. But I didnt able to find a way to enter its recovery mode. I tried power +vol as well as power -vol but ended up removing battery to make phone boot.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI recently tried to root my HTC desire using UNrevoked 3.1. Everything was going well and I even had the desktop gui tell me that the process was "done", however the phone never made it into the green and black recovery menu, and now when I try and enter the recovery menu the phone gives a black screen. I then have to do a hard reset by taking out the battery. I have tried running unrevoked again with the same results and have tried using Rom manager to enter recovery this way, niether of which have helped.
I've spent alot of time searching without answers, if any one thinks they can help or just point me in the right direction I would be very grateful.
I just got a brand new Samsung SGH-i727 that I cannot get into Debug mode, which means that I'm bored with it already! I want to ROOT!! I can navigate to the setting, select the check box, and it remains checked, however, it won't indicate Debugging mode ( in the status bar, with the pop-up or otherwise when connected to the PC), and I cannot access ADB to root it! I am at a loss. I have scoured the forums, deleted and re-installed the drivers, deleted and allowed the device to re-install the drivers, used different USB cables, including the original, and a decent aftermarket, used different USB ports, used different PCs, (Two Win 7's, and one WinXP, all to no avail. I am upgrading from a Cappy, that was rooted on this machine, but for some reason, the 727 just doesn't want to work!
View 3 Replies View RelatedFollowing different tutorials on how to root my device, they all begin with instructing me to enter "download mode." They all seem to say that I need to press Power+Volume Down+Home and, when the warning screen appears, press Volume Up. Well, I hold down Power+Volume Down+Home (I check a video to make extra sure I was holding down the correct buttons) and all that the device ever does is continually display the initial splash screen, the reboot again. If I let go, the device goes into "manual mode" in which it prompts to reboot, update the device or factory reset it. Am I missing something?
View 2 Replies View RelatedJust FYI in case anyone wants to know: For download mode, with the phone turned off, fold the number 1 key on the QWERTY keyboard and the power button simultaneously For recovery mode, with the phone turned off, hold Volume Down, CAmera, and Power simultaneously. You navigate with volume UP/DOWN, select with HOME, Menu toggles to "Manual Mode", whatever that it.
View 3 Replies View RelatedMy contact list got very messed up when the list was transfered over from my old flip phone. There are way too many problems to be able to go through it and make edits. I think the best thing I can do is completely start over clean. What would be the best way to do this?I have a gmail account that was created when I got the phone a month ago but really have never used gmail before. Can I enter a new contact list in gmail on my computer and then somehow copy the list to my phone?Would I be better off using another program that would sync with the phone? I really want to be able to enter the names and numbers on the computer first because obviously it is way easier then typing on the phone.
View 19 Replies View RelatedNoticed since I work in a rather quiet environment. During office hours I need to keep it on vibrate mode. When the phone vibrates during a call, it causes a severe rattling noise when the phone is in my hands or if the bottom is not resting against a hard object. Removing the battery compartment cover and repeat, and the rattle is non existent. With the battery cover on, the rattle can be diminished by pressing firmly on the top section of the cover.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have never flashed a phone before. I followed instructions for ODIN. I installed the ADB drivers as indicated. (I had them installed on my windows 7 laptop previously for use with PDA net.) I shut down my phone then enter recovery mode. I then plug my phone into the computer and it never shows up as connected. I have tried this on my new IBM Thinkpad R500 (windows 7 32 bit) and on an older IBM laptop running Windows XP. I have used these same computers and phone connection before when I added MP3's to the phone.
When I let the phone boot up normally, both computers then recognize it and I can transfer files and such. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the ADB drivers multiple times, when the phone boots up normally I can use PDANet just fine so I doubt it is the connection. Is there something special I need to change in the phone settings before I shut it down and enter recovery mode? It seems like the phone isn't loading something as it boots into recovery mode. That it loads when I let it boot normally.
It may be already stated in one of the previous threads, but I was curious as to which button combination do we hold in order to send the Fascinate into recovery mode?
