Does the Captivate have a docking station or cradle that will work with it like the international Galaxy S has from Samsung? Or will the original cradle work with the Captivate?

Check out the Official Samsung Galaxy S international website and you will notice the docking station at the beginning and end of the video. Click on the bubble of the last part of the video and you will see a large picture and explanation of the docking station (http://galaxys.samsungmobile.com/)I was wondering if anyone has heard if the US versions of the Galaxy S will be getting any docking stations of their own? Here is my personal view The docking station must connect via the micro usb which judging by the pictures appears slides into the left side of the dock rather than straight down From watching video of all four of the samsung galaxy s variants for the US it is apparent that the micro usb port is located on the top of the phone as is the international version http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aXuUi8PTkvM&feature=player_embedded
View 4 Replies View RelatedA few months ago I had a TG01 and after a bit of surfing the net i came upon a web site that showed a homemade docking station for the Toshiba, I now have a Hero and for the life of me cant remember the name of the site (It had a iphone in the background which someone wittingly commented wanting to know what that "Thing" was (the iphone) if thats any help) the docking station was a universal one i think so i was going to have a go at making one, sorry no lego bricks here

First, when I put it into the dock/'multimedia' thing, I would like more options than where my weather comes from. It needs, nay, begs, for analog clock! If anyone knows a way or an app, please let me know.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI simply love my docking station for my DROID.but I also want to protect my fone while on the go from any accidents so I also want a protective case for it.The case I bought won't let me put it in the docking station in the case. IS there any fone protection that will allow me to put it in the station without having to take it out of the every time?I would think this would make the case not stay on so well from repeatedly taking it off and putting it back on.The case I bought, unfortunately, did not come with screen protection like I thought it would. It's simply an empty front. Therefore does anybody have a suggestion as to what case covers the whole thing to avoid screen scratches?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have an issue with my desk cradle app. It somehow magically is now linked to my home button. Everytime I press the home button, my desk cradle app starts. It does it even though I restart and do a battery pull. I do have the desk cradle that I use. Has anyone seen this before, and is there a simple fix for it? thank you.
has anyone yet tried a docking station? If so, does it work well? Do you think it wears the battery down? I only found the Paserro Docckingstation for Tattoo so far and I would like to read some reviews first.Also any idea for a docking station clock? I think Bedside looks nice, but I'm not sure if there are more apps like this one.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI left the USB cable that came with my phone at the office, so i decided to try and use a generic cable that i had lying around to transfer files from my computer to my phone (with the help of a micro USB adaptor). However, when plugged up to my computer, it only charges the phone but does not give me the option to mount the SD card as it does when i use the Motorola cable. The generic cable i have came with my external hard drive, and i've been able to use it to transfer files to multiple devices with no problems. I thought all USB cables were pretty much the same, so did Motorola put something like a chip in the cable to get people to buy OEM?

I just want to ask though how other people set up their home screens (I'm seriously lacking imagination) I'd like to know of what widgets & apps are must hav's!Also, I have dedicated my far left screen as a 'car' screen which i've got a music widget on and google navigation icon... I'm after some other really good apps to use while being out in the car and while travelling around the country, any suggestions?One more thing, I'm after a car cradle to use the navigation, but the speaker on the phone is really quiet... is there a satnav with a speaker built in, or can you get cigarette lighter powered bluetooth speakers? I only want to be able to hear what the phone's satnavs saying really.

I've got my Droid on it's cradle on my desk. I would like the screen to stay lit or on when it's like this so I can access my phone easier rather than having to turn the phone on each time. Any way to do this?

I have the phone in the cradle, in the back of the cradle they have a battery, and then the cord is plugged into a wall adaptor (the ones shown on ebay) that is holding a spare battery.It took awfully long to charge and not end up fully charged.I know the Innodock Jr from Seidio which I had would have been fully charged, hours earlier..when I asked which one of two cradles to get, it was pointed out that any cradles advertised to do the same things, i.e. case compatible and dual purpose, will be the same quality, just get the cheaper one.
Or could it be due to the device dividing power up three ways (excuse my lack of Electrical knowledge) charging the wall charger, the battery back of the cradle, and the phone itself?
I rooted my captivate thinking that i could install apps that are blocked on my phone, like Sirius XM, WiFI tethering.....even after rooting the programs are still being blocked and i cant install them. am i missing something? im new to android and had an iphone that i jail broke. im confused on what rooting actually.
