Watching video via my Behold2 is my major thing. But I have to convert the videos and put that in the sdcard when I want to watch something. Is there a better way? Plus, I couldn't find any good mencoder front-end for linux. Can any one let me know an easy way to convert video files on linux?

Hi everyone. I have the Desire, and I'm loving it so far. Can anyone please tell me the best way to encode video so it looks it's best on the (amazing) screen? I tried a hi-res mp4 movie, but got sound but no picture (not sure what resolution it was in, sorry - I'm at work now and can't access the file. If anyone can let me know the best resolution to recode movies, and best format (eg mp4) I'd be grateful. Do you know of any sample movies I can download to show the screen off to my friends with iPhones?

View 1 Replies View RelatedOn the behold 2 there is no light when in the video mode like with the regular behold. Sometimes I would like to shoot videos of the kids outside at night but the lighting is bad. I downloaded momentflash and love it. I used that while video recording it worked great. My only concern is the warning with momentflash that says
"overuse of the flash may damage it especially in bright mode" Is there anything that can be done to have a light when recording? Or to dim the light a bit?
Does anyone know what video formats are supported on our phones? I'm downloading AVI's, and wasn't sure if I could play it directly from the phone. Would be good to know before upcoming flights.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI just switched to the R8 release and after that I cannot mount the sd card to the computer to transfer files back and forth. I can get adb and odin to recognize the phone just fine and it also charges off the connection just no mounting for the card.
View 9 Replies View RelatedCan someone guide me to what is the best way to send picture/video to an email contact? I am currently using 1.6 tweaked v3 and the problem is if I can't send message using the message app(because can't find email contacts) but have to go through contacts (gmail)to send a picture. However when I do that, I can't attach a video. Now if I use the camera/camcorder app, while reviewing pictures the "send to" doesn't work. If i click on "default destination" and delete the emply destination I can choose between 5 options. The phone book option say "sorry!" the application has stopped unexpectedly and to force close. I can send video using the video player which is weird since doing it in the camcorder app won't work!. Seems alot of round about ways to do something which should be simple.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm able to get AC3 5.1 @ 640kbs to work with my 720p mkv files but the playback skips about every 5 seconds. Other then that It looks and sounds amazing! I've tried encoded to 5.1 FLAC and AAC but it doesn't play at all. Are there any encoding experts out there?

View 13 Replies View RelatedAlright whats up people I was recently searching through and through for a way to get mobile internet without paying that ridiculous android price so as I was searching I stumbled across a regular behold forum at Samsung Behold Forum - New Proxy (TMobileX (Free Internet!)) - UPDATE: Analysis 01.07.10 -> 1500 Users because someone said free internet for it and I gave it a run to see if it would work with our behold 2 and surely enough it does.
Instructions on how to use proxy:
Open up the (default) browser on your Samsung Behold.
Type in the following address into the : tmo-x.co.cc/tmobilex/
Type in the address you want to visit in the form on the page and select whether or not you want to use my HTML trick (free; allows you to see sites in full HTML not 'WAP-stripped').
After many attempts to try and use the terminal emulator that is already preloaded onto the behold 2 , and many failures..After trying out different Terminal Em.'s and always having my phone lag because they wernt made for it...i have finally found a way to get terminal emulator working with no lag or no slow down in performance... First you must have root,of course, Next, Use an app called root explorer or something similar and goto the folder /system/app/ and find the two files Term.apk and Term.odex, and MOVE them to your sd card from your phone,you want them gone from your system/app folder After that simply goto the market and search for Terminal Emulator , re-download and there you have it, Working term. em. on the behold 2.Peace Ladz.

So i would like to root it and run a factory1.6 no twiz rom on it, but I'm having issues while doing it!....
I was succesfully able to get adb to detect my phone serial. but whenever I type in: adb shell /data/local/try3 /system/bin/sh
in the CMD, it returns with "permission denied"
Does anyone know if you can use any multitouch because any app that says it has multitouch doesn't work

I have been trying to put it back on and all I ended up doing was bending it.I got my hands on an HTC Leo Windows mobile 6.5. Best implementation of an SD card slot ever.

Sprint release the 2.1 update for the Samsung Moment today. Here is the link to the update on Sprint's website. Will this update work for our Behold II? I'm willing to try to install it on mine (I'm currently running 1.6 no twiz). What do you think guys?

View 9 Replies View RelatedG1 and my Behold 2 her phone had good reception and the behold had nearly none. Half the time I don't get phone calls. They go straight to VM. My roommate's BB pearl gets double the reception mine does. My other roommate's Nokia gets even better reception. All on the T-mo network. Another friend who has a G1 same thing, he has reception I don't. Not to mention the other problems I have had. This is my 3rd Behold II by the way. Been replaced twice and back to Samsung for 3 weeks once.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI keep all my music on my PC in MP3 format at 320kbps. I prefer 192kbps on my phone as I'm not too concerned about quality on the move and I can fit more music on that way. I don't want to keep 2 versions of each album as I have loads and that's not really practical. At the moment I sync using WMP12 as it allows you to re-encode to a lower bitrate as it syncs but the only problem is that it re-encodes to WMA format. I don't really have a problem with that as it's only going on my phone but with Froyo there's a bug that means the phone can no longer read the artist tag of WMA files. Since Froyo has now been out for months and there's no word about the bug from Google it appears there's no chance of it getting fixed (a cunning ploy to stop people using WMA seems the most likely explanation I guess) So can anyone recommend a piece of software I can use for Windows that will re-encode to a lower MP3 bitrate as I sync? Does such a thing exist?
