View 1 RepliesI cant figure out how to perform an onClick on my ListAdapter.
Here is my code:
CODE:.....................
I want to be able to click on an item from the database, then go into a view that only contains info for that item. My class currently extends ListActivity. I've tried OnItemClickListener, but I dont know what else to use to make it work.
Had my phone reboot today at 3:15 pm cst, and it being the first i was hoping that is was a gps update but it does not work any better. anyone else's captivate reboot today?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI just got a behold 2 (i know a little late) but i like it. I how it works although sometimes its a little slow.. maybe i just need a task manager. Anyways I have a problem and I have searched everywhere for a solution. I am trying to get onto the android market through wifi since I have wifi at home and dont need an internet plan. when i go to the market google wants me to sign in so i put my name and password and then it sends me to a catch. i input the symbols and then it asks me to do it again with a new catch. i figure maybe i put in a letter wrong? so i do it again.. and again it gives me a new catch. and again and again and again and it never ends. If i press the back button it will say its signing in but it never signs in. it just says signing in communicating with google bla bla forever. Is this just my phone? or is it a known issue?
View 3 Replies View RelatedAfter this update, which came on my new replacement phone... I can't reboot like normal when trying to apply reinstall update packages with the root from OCLF. Is there some new tricky method to get it to reboot to the special reboot screen? I tried holding the home button with the volumes and power button aside from the other, volumes and side power button and no such luck it just reloads that first att logo. I also tried letting go of the volumes when its stuck in the first logo and vice versa with letting go of the power button.I guess my rants to Samsung's customer service paid off with this update. Just goes to show what a little complaining will do.
View 2 Replies View RelatedSo I was looking through the stickies and I didn't really understand how to start rooting my phone or which of the directions to follow.. sorry if this has been asked a million times but could someone just point me in the direction I need to go to start the rooting? And can I uproot if I need to send my phone to t-mobile for something? Can they tell if I've rooted it? Sorry just a few questions on my mind before I root.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have noticed that if I ever turn my captivate off and then reboot it; it will take anywhere from 3-5 minutes for the Captivate to fully boot and become usable. Prior to then it is unbelievably laggy and if I even try to dial out it freezes.
I moved my 4gb of music from the internal SD card to the external SD card thinking that may make a difference but that did not solve the problem.
i just got a Samsung Captivate Galaxy S I9000, here is the problem.
1) It is locked to Rogers Wireless, because my friend tested it by inserting his Rogers SIM card into it and it works normally like a phone.
Here is where it gets interesting:
2) When i insert another foreign SIM card such as FIDO cell carrier. The phone boots into the lock screen and it says Media Scanning...and then it proceeds to the booting up screen again.
From my lack of skills in Android software, i am really stuck. But from the powers of observation, it seems the phone was flashed and is currently running a custom ROM on it from Serendipity VII.
The phone runs perfectly, without a sim card, but that's like holind a tablet without a phone line. What should i do?
Here are some details on the phone's systems.
-Firmware version 2.3.3
-Model Number:I897 ????(Why does the boot screen show I9000?,custom Rom?)
-Build number: Serendipity VII Build 2
I'll let this screenshot speak for itself. I JUST took this screenshot. How'd I do it? Check out the article over at XDA. [UTIL] One Click Lag Fix - xda-developers, You'll need root, Busybox, a Windows system with USB cable, and an iron stomach. (By the way, this was not my best run of Quadrant. The first time I ran it, I got a 2057. Unfortunately I didn't get a SS.)

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have the phone for about 2 weeks now, with 3-4 hours daily use. In the middle of a call this morning, it went silent and when turned on again, it displayed "SIM card removed. Reboot phone". I took the card out and put back in 3 times, but it still happens. Wi-Fi is working, phone is still running apps. I tried to press the SIM card tightly while trying to connect, but it's no good. A quick Google search does not show many people with this problem. Anyone has a quick solution before I call ATT or Samsung?

I just bought the captivate on the 15th and was wondering how you get to the root menu from boot up so I can run the one click lag fix app.
anyone know how?

View 4 Replies View RelatedDownload and use a program called Android Central Sideload Wonder Machine. It's a one click solution, works amazingly on the Captivate and requires no hassle. The program claims to work on un-rooted phones (though mine is rooted).My girlfriend's Captivate is not rooted though so I will test this out on her phone as well to confirm it. Check it out though. I've already gone to town with this and it works great.

View 15 Replies View RelatedApologies is this is covered in another thread, but I couldn't find it. I was able to successfully update to JH7 over the air, but now whenever I turn my phone off/on, as soon as the boot process is done I am greeted by a Device Management screen/notification that says the update was successful. If I hit 'OK' the screen goes away and the phone operates normally.
Will this screen go away after a certain number of reboots? It's kind of annoying that it's still there even though I've rebooted half a dozen times since the update.
when I click on one item in the ListView that item's background changes to light gray, but when I continue to scroll through the list every 4th item has the background changed to light gray even though those other items have not been clicked. How do I make only the item I clicked be effected by the click?
ListView lv = (ListView) findViewById(R.id.resultsList);
lv.setAdapter(new ArrayAdapter(this, R.layout.resultitem, (String[])labelList.toArray(new String[labelList.size()])));

public void onItemClick(AdapterView parent, View view, int position, long id) {
TextView tv = (TextView)view.findViewById(R.id.result);
tv.setBackgroundColor(Color.LTGRAY);
tv.setTextColor(Color.BLACK);
I used the the Lagfix app to "root" my captivate. so i'm wondering what's the difference between doing it this way vs. doing it through a computer or some other way? Also, how can install non-market apps now? Well I know how, but what's the easiest way to do it? is the an app market I can get?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a ListView in my Activity. I am trying to catch both a click and a long click (which should bring up a context menu).
ListView lv = (ListView) findViewById(R.id.MyListView); ... lv.setOnItemClickListener(this); lv.setOnCreateContextMenuListener(this); ...
I notice that if I have both the click and long click listeners up, I won't ever get the long click listener (i.e. the context menu). If I remove the setOnItemClickListener() call, i get a call into
@Override public void onCreateContextMenu(ContextMenu menu, View v, ContextMenu.ContextMenuInfo menuInfo) {

I have just started my career as an android programmer, and am currently relying heavily on the sample code and api examples. I have been working with this api example, to produce an expandable list of items (note this example does not use the ExpadableListView).In playing with the example, I tried to add another widget that would become visible and be gone at the same time as the text (mDialogue in the sample code). This works well with another TextView, but as soon as I tried to add a button widget, it stopped working. The list would expand on first click, showing my hidden TextView and Button, but it will not disappear on further clicks. The button is however, clickable, and I was able to set up an onClick listener to change the button text back and forth.I'm starting to wonder, is it just not possible to have a clickable item inside a clickable list item? Or is there some kind of work around? Would it solve my problem if I used ExpandableListView?
