I was trying to root my nexus one. I was able to complete unlocking the bootloader but when i used superboot to root it, i won't get pass the step where you verify to make sure superboot recognizes your device. Every time i enter fasboot-windows devices command, it just won't recognize it. I don't know what else to do.
View 11 Replies View RelatedDamn, I cannot remember the commands & neither can I find them on Cyanogen's forum anymore Can somebody let me know the commands needed to install a new radio image file from the computer onto the phone, or point me towards a thread via hyperlink?I have got as far as putting the file "radio.img" into the Superboot folder of my computer & run the required commands to make sure the computer can detect the phone (fastboot-windows devices) but just cannot get any further.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI just picked up the Nexus 5 a week ago and other than battery life and Hangouts I think the phone is awesome! Anyways I'm having a weird intermittent problem when I send texts through Hangouts and I'm not sure whats causing the issue. I've had Hangouts send roughly a dozen texts through thinking they were picture texts. I've had my friends answer me back saying "I didn't receive the picture", and I never tried to send a pic?I'm also not really keen on Hangouts, whats a simple to use, bug free messaging app?
View 3 Replies View RelatedThe specifics of the Nexus One Dev Phone compared to a regular N1 Phone.I'd like to buy a N1 Dev Phone for dev purposes but also for ordinary everyday usage. So are there any specifics in the Dev Version of N1 I should care about? Is there anything that would inhibit a regular day to day usage and what are the differences to the regular retail version of the Phone?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI can't decide which phone to get, I'm currently between HTC Desire and Nexus one. I'm been reading reviews while doing some comparisons to try to decide on this.
When the phones were first released I remember reading that the two main difference was that the Desire would have Flash support but not the Nexus One and also of course Sense UI.
In 2.2/Froyo I believe that has been rectified and we can get Flash on the Nexus One as well, please do correct me if I am wrong.
As for Sense UI, I understand it's an Interface developed by HTC to place over Android. From what I have been reading, Android does not need Sense UI to run. So what makes Sense UI so special? What can it do and so on that the Nexus one cannot?
I'm essentially looking for whats the difference between the Desire and Nexus One.
Those of you using Hand cent SMS, can you disable the regular htc messaging? When I get a text now I get two tones that I have received a text message one from the htc built in messaging and one from hand cent.

My Evo has Gmail - switching to it was easy enough. But how the heck can I get Google calendar on this puppy?
I looked thru lots of calculator apps but they seemed to be either tip calculators or scientific ones. I'd like on that's just like the calculator i use at my desk. I know how to figure out what the tip amount would be so don't really want one that does only that. and the one that seems to be in my Droid doesn't have a % key, unless i've missed it. I just don't see the need to have 2 different kinds of calculators taking up space on my phone.

I tend to alternate b/w using Live wallpapers and regular ones. There's been no problems switching to a Live wallpaper but when I try to change the wallpaper to a regular one it reverts back to the default wallpaper. However if I do a reboot after that it will display the last wallpaper I attempted to change to before the reboot.
I have an iPhone 4g microsim...my phone should be in soon...how can I make a microsim fit a regular sim? Is there an adapter? Because the Galaxy S uses a regular size sim card and my iPhone 4 is microsize...
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have an unlocked Hero using a Sim from Vodafone. So far all seems ok apart from one strange anomaly. When I'm in my office I have to use a Vodafone Gateway as there is no regular signal here. This works fine, however my phone thinks it's in deepest Russia and it's making me feel cold being constantly told that the temperature is -15 DegC and sunny. Is this because Vodafone have a server hidden in the darkest depths of Russia and is there any way I can change this apart from manually telling it where I am each day?
View 2 Replies View RelatedAfter dealing with short battery life like many of you, sometimes only getting 4 hours after a full nights charging and the phone just sitting on my desk,i figured out how to make it go the full day, even with regular use of web and email/sms. For me, it was simply reducing the frequency of syncs between all the various social networks I'm part of. My setting used to be every hour for Facebook, Twitter, and the worst culprit, Flickr. i would notice the phone constantly getting warm to the touch even if it just laid on the desk. Since changing the frequency to manual refresh, my battery is still well over 60% by nights end. YMMV.

View 3 Replies View RelatedProcessing has Android support and it seems to be pretty awesome from my 10 minutes of playing with it. But I would like to make a regular (nongraphics) application like a twitter feed reader or something. So is there something like Processing that can do regular apps? Besides Titanium.Basically I am looking for anything that will make coding for android easier, processing was so easy to get working that I was very happy with it, but it is for graphics only. Titanium didn't give me the same wow factor and it isn't open so that kind of takes away from it. What other tools are out there?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI rooted my Incredible a few weeks ago (thanks to everyone here) and I want to know how I should be handling regular backups. At the time of the root I did a Nandroid backup and then a Titanium backup. I then copied the contents of my SD card over to my PC for safe-keeping. Should I continue to do regular Nandroid + Titanium backups? Or, should I just do Titanium?
View 7 Replies View RelatedJust joined the Android group. I'm having problems with the acceleration and orientation sensors.I would like to obtain sensor data (acceleration and orientation values) at regular intervals (10 milliseconds). However, the SensorEventListener doesn't allow you to do that. Does anyone have an idea of how to work around this issue? This is important as I need it to collect data for an app I'm working on.

View 4 Replies View RelatedSo I hear people saying that they hate sense, or they love sense. I've never had an android phone before (the last time I bought a phone was 2005). So I've had my incredible for awhile, and without a reference I'm not sure what sense added.
I know they have some sense only widgets, but beyond that, how is it different from plain jane android?

View 4 Replies View RelatedAnyone with launcher pro knows that regular wallpapers create a bad gradient with widgets and wallpapers themselves as it allows the launcher to work faster(?). Live wallpapers eliminate this. However I am unable to find a live wallpaper that just uses a regular image. Is there an app for that already or can someone make one? I don't imagine it would be very hard.
