If I apply a label in the Gmail application as Junk Mail, is that the same as "Mark As Spam" button as if I were using Firefox on my computer? If not, how do I tell Gmail that something is SPAM from my Droid?

I have a zillion labels. Only way to manage the old digital life Any who, it's a PITA going into GMail and scrolling through the astronomical list of labels to see what's in there. Needless to say, some labels are, to me, more important than others. With that in mind, what I'd like to know is how I can create a shortcut on the desktop that will go directly to a specific label in GMail. It's gotta be possible.

Does it mean if I had a label set up and told it to go directly to that label and skip the inbox that i would still get an alert on my phone? The reason i am asking is because before i got this phone, i had a label in my gmail called "craigslist". Everything dealing with craigslist went into this and skipped the inbox. Thats worked well but i still need to be alerted when i get a new offer from craigslist. Will that snyc label option do what i want it to do?

I don't want to forward my mail to gmail nor do I want to switch everything over. I would just like the functionality of the gmail app that came on the phone for other e-mail accounts as well.Anyone know of any updates coming that might address this?

All worked fine for a few days but now I notice that I get no notification of any type for new mail unless I manually press the sync button.I thought that the gmail was a push like SMS and as soon as new mail arrives it notifies me (yes notifications are on).I just tested it by sending an email from my work address to gmail. Nothing on the phone but it does show if I log in via a regular computer.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm on a rooted D1. I've had this problem w/ the last couple rooted ROMs. When I reply to a person's email it gets stuck in the outbox. The other day I happened to check it and there were 9 messages in there from the past 3 days that never were sent. I type the message and hit send, but it's never sent. It keeps saying 'sending' I had this problem today w/ SS 4.7 and prior to that had a problem a few days ago w/ ultimate droid and also whatever other ROM I was using last week. I can't remember. I am pretty sure I went to apps, gmail and cleared data and that didn't help.

is there anyway i can get my aol mail to go to my gmail account instantly?
Does anybody know of an app that will show how many unread emails you have for gmail and corporate email? I like the default program but the widget is just a shortcut and doesn't show an unread count. I looked in the market and couldn't find anything.There has to be an app for that, it seems so basic.If I'm not making sense: I have handcent and the Handcent widget puts a little number of unread messages in the corner of the widget.

View 13 Replies View Relatedfor some reason i can't seem to set up my personal yahoo email account. i keep getting an error saying i'm not authenticated? i just logged in with this pc and didn't have any problems. i was trying to set it up using the mail widget google /gmail worked just fine with their widget are they trying to just force me to use gmail only anyone have any similar problems and/or tips to get it set up. i would like to move to one email account but you know how it is, you get on, you get another, people have the old address guess i could forward yahoo to gmail.

Sometime my emails would arrive hours after they were sent, which in business is unacceptable. Multiple pop3 accounts and gmail through activesync worked so smooth on my windows mobile Omnia i910. I am now trying to use mail fetcher integrated in gmail. I like it ok, and it's polling interval is getting shorter all the time (since google automatically calculates how often it should do it). I setup the pop3 accounts to get Labeled as the email account they come in on and auto Archive. I Archive the mail because I do not like a common inbox. Call me old school or whatever but I like to keep my buisness and pleasure separated. Here is my question:
My real question is now on my phone how can I automatically tell when a new email arrives from one of those other accounts (since it auto archives under it's label and hence doesn't show up in my inbox). If I can get this working my phone will be everything I always wanted.
so far, I love my Motorola droid but I do not like some of the apps/icons that are occupying my phone's application page. How do I remove them since they don't appear in the list of applications that can be uninstalled. Some of the apps that i want to remove are: amazon mp3 and facebook.

Since I have nested labels (Google IMAP enabled) that is not nearly enough and it is impossible to read the last part of my Label. Which makes it hard to assign labels. When I do this, the chooser comes up and gives all kinds of choices, for anything that can handle text/plain i assume, because there's stuff in there that doesn't support "e-mail". How can I make it so that it will only show applications that support email (gmail, mail, yahoo mail, etc...) and not stuff like "Bluetooth", "Facebook", etc...
Is there any other way on the X to sync FB's pictures without it syncing the other junk like their phone numbers? I've tried Syncmypix but the quality of the pictures are kinda crappy.

I have added both the sender and the senders domain to the list using Windows Live Mail Beta. These emails are still getting through to my Droid X. First, there are no option on the phone to block emails is there? And secondly, there is not an option to add emails to any junk folder on the phone either that I have found. Anyone else having this problem? I've tried both adding my email accounts through Corporate (for hotmail/msn) and the email option on the phone.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm used to my BB which changes the gmail icon to one with an asterisk when i have new emails on gmail. the droid (android) does not. there's a pop up in the notifier bar but after that disappears there's not way to tell quickly if there's new mail received. is there anything i'm missing or an app that can notify me on the home screen that there's new email in my gmail inbox?

I noticed that the only way to view my school gmail account was through the gmail app, however I can view my personal gmail account with the mail app on my home screen. I have tried to select my ASU gmail account for that app but it doesn't give me an option to show it. Is there any way to add that account to the mail viewer?

I am able to send e-mail from the phone.The funny thing is that if I check my email from my PC and empty any e-mail's that are in my inbox, then try to check for new e-mail's with my DroidX (knowing that there are none) I do not get any errors.The errors only occur when there are e-mails in my inbox.Didn't have any problems with this setup with the incredible.

I am finding I have to physically go into my settings, data synronization, and manually sync my mail for anything new to show up.Whats up? For instance, when you create a new contact, you have to precise the type of the account and to do so, you can pick up one of the account that enable contact synchronisation, or the 'telephone' type. I have search thru the AccountManager, ContactsContract.Settings and SyncAdapterType but cannot find this label.
