Just like the title says I was just curious how do you know if your phone is actually overclocked? Do you need to have SetCPU?
For example i'm running BB0.1 and Chevys LV 1ghz kernal do you just trust that you're actually OC'd or is there a way to see what you're running at? If this question is dumb just let me know, i was just curious. Phone runs great with my setup.
Who here is overclocked? Does it make a huge difference? Is it really that bad for my phone? What's the best way to do it?
View 7 Replies View RelatedSo now that we have overclock on 2.2, is there anybody still running a rooted stock DX with OC? Is the studder on the homescreens still there?

Just doesn't seem to be faster.
Just curious as to how the raw performance of an overclocked Droid compares to the newer 1Ghz Snapdragon and other new 1Ghz CPU's. Anyone have any figures or numbers/benchmarks? I have my Droid running the Liquid Yogurt 1.6 ROM at 1Ghz and was just wondering how it compares to my boss's HTC Incredible and other newer phones.

I'm not rooted, but if anyone is willing to check it out it a go and let us know what you think of it!! It does BREAK WIFI though! ... but they are close to fixing it I guess!
This is what they are saying about the overclocking to 600 MHz:
"boot time has improved noticeably, pandora also seems to launch quicker. running benchmarks shows good improvement, but a lot of day to day tasks are similar to what they were.
I've done very little actual testing to see if it runs much better, but yes, it does feel smoother...kinda."
(If already posted then I'm sorry please lock this but I did not see it yet..)
So Im running stock rooted frg22 and was wondering if I could put overclocked kernals like slayers or something over it because I want to overclock and am satisfied with the stock froyo rom.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI found this article on Talk Android The Droid X has been overclocked
Is it legit? Is the talk android website legit, I've never been on it before.
If anyone can confirm this, that would be cool, I still don't have my Droid X yet.
(apparently it doesn't run very well because of the amount of voltage it puts out, but is it even possible to overclock it the DX without fooling with the bootloader?
I overclocked my eris from a 2.0 to a 2.2 and ever since then ive been having some really bad lag on my phone... such as texting is really really slow, opening programs, and loading the camera pictures. Can anyone tell me if i were to master reset my phone if my phone would not be overclocked anymore and just be to its original 2.0?

View 4 Replies View RelatedThere have been a few queries here and there about kernels which are noted as being overclocked by the developers of the ROMs they're used in.
Zach, the developer of the xtrROM series, tells me this about those kernels (when asked for clarification about them):
* A kernel that is capabile of being overclock does not mean the ROM is OC by default and you will have to review the devs OP to determine what they have done.
* Most DO NOT OC by default because they are using another devs kernels (there are only a few devs that know kernel code, I use Zanfurs) and
* IF it IS OC by default then you do not "need" SetCPU or other such app unless you want to use the custom profiles as you mentioned.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI like the idea of roms like Zen and purehero as they come overclocked and speedy. My main issue with trying these is I'm wondering what the battery life is like with these? Running the CPU oc'd I would imagine sucks more battery, anyone wanna confirm or deny this? I'm currently on fresh 2.1.2 and though it is snappy, its really no different than the official 2.1 release I was running rooted and I'm looking for more now, just over 2 mflops on linpack if that helps clarify.
View 18 Replies View RelatedIt's only been about three hours, but I've been running my Senseable 3.1 at 806/768 with no ill effects that I can see; nothing but speed and quickness all around the device's apps and menus.
Battery levels don't look any different from when it was running at the default 528.
Still testing, of course, but I have to admit I am startled at this because my first few tweaks on other ROMs would freeze the device when I attempted to go over the mid 700s.
I am of course wary, and will be watching, almost expecting something bad to happen down the line; we'll see.
What is the highest successful setting you have used or are using now?
overclocked captivates. Has anyone actually tried 1.2ghz overclock on the samsung captivate and if so how is it running? Have you had any issues, bugs, etc. I'm highly tempted to try this myself. I ran the one click lag fix and am pretty please with the results.

View 4 Replies View RelatedAre there any 100% stable and functional overclocked ROMs out now? When I say stable and functional I mean no phone app crashes on incoming calls and multimedia messaging works as well. I loved how fast and stable Fresh1.1 was, but all the OC'd 2.1 ROM's I've tried have at least a few problems.
View 3 Replies View RelatedIs KaosFroyo overclocked "out of the box" so to speak, or do you need SetCPU to OC? My dad (yes he has an Eris too) flashed it last night and noticed it was running a little slower or at least not as fast as he thought it would be.
Also, how do you use bluetooth dialing, do you just do it the same way you would normally but instead talking into the bluetooth device?

I'm upgrading from my Droid 1 to the Droid X tomorrow and would like to start my use of the DX with it's new 32gb card in place of my old 16gb card from my Droid 1 but need to know if there's anything required to copy from my droid 1 16gb card to my new DX 32 gb card that would be required or helpful in the DX use.I will obviously transfer music/vids/pics but are there any essential files, apps, etc. that are needed.Or is it a good idea to use my paid MyBackupPro to copy the old Droid 1 apps/data for use in the DX larger memory card or is this not copatible to perform between the 2 devices?

The main points that I like to enjoy is: Droid beat out the phone that beat the iPhone, and the Droid got further in the brackets than any other Android OS phone Some of the progress is due to hardware, some due to following (over the Nexus'), but a lot due to the v2.01 (and now 2.1) version of the Android OS. Also, this poll is open ALL weekend - it does not close until April 5th, so we have tons of time...but then again, so does the Palm Pre. Let's have at 'em!
I have the original droid with 2.1 (still haven't got update) the phone has some problems like, restarting, cant update certain apps, unresponsive. i just got the phone in may 2010 an im starting to think its getting out dated. I once had it rooted to 2.2 but went back to stock for OTA 2.2 . But my question is, that do u think i can call verizon and tell them my problems, say its my 3rd droid and im getting tired of it. Since there not making the oringinal droid anymore do u think they'll let me upgrade to Droid X with little or no fee? i got the idea from another post, reading that someone had success with this trick?
