Sending text is fine but when inserting pictures and sending it that message always pops up.This is the 3rd time its happen and the only way to fix it is to reset it!(only to break a week or so later) Even when I call customer service there only advice to reset it. I really need help and I was wondering if anyone out there found a fix.

Motorola Droid X :: Send Mms - National Access Coverage Not Available

Jul 18, 2010

Just got my DX friday in the mail and I didn't notice the problem until today when I first tried to send a mms to friends. I CAN'T. I've attached a picture to both the stock messenger and handcent but it's not able to go through. Stock messenger gives me an error or "National access coverage not available". I've called VZW to make sure all my settings are up to date, that there are no blocks, but nothing. Tried *228 to update roaming and also battery pulled twice after they reset some things on their end.

Motorola Droid 2 :: National Coverage Not Available / MMS

Oct 28, 2010

I have been having issues lately sending pic messages on my D2, about the past month or so.I use Handcent most the time and I just get the spinning circle. If I switch over to the default messaging app, I get the error "national coverage not available". I did the *228 and updated both my roaming profile (opt 2) and then called again and reprogrammed my phone (opt 1).I haven't changed anything in my settings with networks, access, etc.Anyone else experiencing this? I did a search on the forums but no results were found.

Motorola Droid X :: "National Coverage Not Available" When Sending MMS / Fix It?

Nov 30, 2010

So, it seems that several of the Android phones have been having a problem sending MMS, either through Handcent or stock text messaging app. I have never had a problem receiving MMS, just couldn't send.

Worked with VZW tech support for hours. Things we tried:
Checked all switch settings (their end)
*228, option 2
turn off phone (battery pull)
Checked, unchecked, rechecked all settings on phone
Ended up that a factory reset resolved the problem. Problem is, I had completed a factory reset not more than a couple of months prior trying to fix some of the 2.2 issues.

Motorola : Droid X Scares - Apple Tried To Cover Bad AT&T Coverage

Jul 5, 2010

I have been using a LG Voyager (Christmas gift) and a 32gb Ipod touch for the last 2 years biding my time, loathing my 2 year contract and waiting for the release of the Iphone 4 but then the droid X was announced and have spent my time since obsessing over previews, reviews, specs, hands on Youtube videos, news articles and everything Android. And this is the conclusion I have come to.

I have been following Droid X news and reviews hardcore for the last 3 weeks as well as Apple/Iphone 4 news.
Apple is desperately trying to maintain the crown while the castle walls crumble around them. The Droid X truly is the first of I'm sure many Android contenders coming within the next 2 years. Unlike the Evo 4g it is on the Verizon network and packs more features and stability than any other phone with the exception of the Iphone that finishes first only by a spider hair.

In the past 2 weeks Apple has dispatched "rumor spys" to announce "IPHONE COMING TO VERIZON!!"

Yeah well we've been hearing that for a year now. But I am actually certain this time the rumors ARE true. But the point is the usually secretive "Apple" all the sudden has leaks just in time for the Droid X release.

Today I read that Apple has said that the antenna issue isn't the problem. They say it was a "flaw" with Iphone software displaying better reception (more bars) than there actually was and that when bridging the wifi and cell antennas touching the two at once users were displaying the "actual" coverage. Well this tells us two things.
1. Apple knew that AT&t had sub par coverage that wouldn't be able to handle data heavy phones and it would show.
2. Apple tried to cover the bad AT&T coverage by making the coverage look better than it is.
Why would they do that you ask? Well think about it. When the Iphone 1g was first released there weren't many "smart phones" that also included the multimedia hand held entertainment aspect. You had Blackberry that did a lot of innovative business things but lacked any real fun. Then along came the admittedly awesome, futuristic, and fun Iphone with tons of apps and features.

The phone was expensive for its time and no matter how much the phone could do it would be hard to do all the great things in less than a month especially on a completely new un matured product. So imagine you go buy this Iphone and you know you have 30 days to see whether you like it but the first thing you notice is all the places the phone doesn't get reception. The last thing Apple wanted was bad press at a time when the whole world was lauding their greatness. Another news story that broke today was that an app maker had figured out how to hack into the Itunes App Market and charge random Itunes users for his products thus launching 40 of his apps to top status. Apple just got around to fixing this problem even though it has been ongoing for some time. Well all the secrets are coming out now. And Apple is scrambling while the bad news keeps coming and they watch their stock plummet as fast as Ilemmings off a cliff and into the ocean. But none of this recent disaster is Apple's biggest problem. The problem is while all this bad Apple press is lingering Iphone competitors sporting an ever improving Android operating system are releasing innovative envelope pushing products every month while Apple and mac fanatics will be waiting at least 1 1/2 to 2 years respectively for Apples next Iphone hardware update that will again be adding new "original features" to compete with the technological competition that came since it's last game of catch up.

Motorola Droid :: Turn Off Sync In Areas Of Poor Coverage?

Mar 29, 2010

I have a Verizon brand car charger but have never had the need to use it until this weekend when I traveled from NJ to VT for skiing. I had the navigation and pandora going the entire trip with the charger pluged in. However when I got there and unplugged the battery was almost completely dead.

Does the car charger not supply enough power to charge and run the droid with all the data and gps usage going?

Also the area where I was staying had very poor coverage and once the droid was charged it lost its charge very quickly. should I turn off sync in areas of poor coverage?

Motorola Milestone :: Music Hiccups When Network Coverage Changes / Sort This?

Feb 17, 2010

Just like many of you, I'm running 2.0.1 (build 14) on my Milestone and I'm using it as a music player while in public transport. This works fine, if it wasn't for the horrible hiccups that occur everytime the network coverage either drops out or comes back.

Basically everytime this happens (H/3G/regular coverage makes no difference) my music freezes for 0.5-1s, making it a horrible listening experience, especially when you're in the subway or train. It appears that enabling flight mode does resolve this, but since it's also a phone (and internet device), this just doesn't seem like a solution to me.

Motorola Droid :: Cannot Gain Access To GMAIL Through App

Nov 5, 2010

Will a Smoked Glass update delete or overwrite my flashed Motorola Droid thats currently on the Cricket service or in other words will it mess up my flashed service causing me to have to get it re-flashed back to cricket? Or is it like a somewhat update for ROOTED phone users that want to increase there phone's capabilities as compared to the stocked Android versions that were already released? I would hate to have to re-flash it even though its simple.Ok I did the update and so far the only problems are:
-That my 3G, or internet access through Cricket doesnt work anymore
-I cannot gain access to the Android Market, neither through Wifi or 3G (But as I mentioned my 3G doesnt work any more)
-I cannot gain access to GMAIL through App, even on Wifi
-GPS switch doesnt turn on GPS feature nor does the switch within the [Location & Security] enables the GPS feature
-In the [Add an account] the Gmail account has been deleted
-In the [Privacy settings] the only option available is "Factory data reset," Im not sure if thats a major problem but I thought I'd mention it But the plus's that I noticed so far are:
-The speed of my phone has increased greatly
-Youtube videos are now playable through the pre-installed app Does anybody know any possible fixes to the above problems, if so i'd appreciate it?
-Or to answer my question would my problem be fixed if I return back to my previous ROM that I backed up and then update it in order from v7 to v8 to v9 then to v10?
-Cause my previous ROM was Smoked Glass v6.0
-And if I do a factory reset will it delete my FLASHED service causing me to have to re-flash my phone?

Motorola Droid :: Touchdown Vs Remote Web Access

Jan 22, 2010

Can someone please help me understand the advantage of using Touchdown to manage my corporate emails, calendar and contacts? We are running on Microsoft Exchange Server 2007 (on Small Business Server 2008). The phones that are using activesync in our office have to enter a password every time they are brought out of screen saver or sleep mode. This is very annoying and I don't want this. I am currently connecting via my company's Outlook remote web access, not directly to the server. No password entry required. So far, this is working for me. Updates to emails, contacts and calendar are immediate. Emails arrive on the phone typically before they appear in my Outlook. Now, what I am looking for in the way of improvements:

1.Adding a signature to my emails (required for FINRA and SEC compliance).
2. Fixing contacts so they are listed by last name. They are currently in first name order when viewed on the DROID (not in Outlook).
3.Ability to accept meeting invites this is a minor issue.

Motorola Droid :: Bricking Your Droid Using Root Access

Dec 17, 2009

I've been thinking about rooting my Droid for a little while, but I would like some clarification on the risks before I begin. I know almost nothing about Linux (but I am a tinkerer), but there seem to be very straightforward instructions on how to do everything I'm interested in. When people say that you could "brick" your phone by deleting/moving/renaming the wrong file, I want to make sure I understand the usage of "brick". My definition of bricking a device was that it was literally only good as a brick. It is BROKEN. For good. Kaput. Like a brick. However, Blackberry users (when I was tinkering with my Blackberry Storm) use the word "brick" to describe a phone that just needs its operating system reloaded. I have no problem reloading the Android ROM if I had to (provided a dump of the Droid ROM exists) but will I have the option?Does "brick" around here mean the phone is 100% broken, or that it needs the Android ROM reloaded?
