Ive noticed that when im not using the gps, (ie: no apps requesting it) the icon goes away. Does it turn off the GPS or put it into a power save mode? I thought in 2.1 as long as the gps was enabled, the icon was on.

I've noticed recently when I take my D1 off of the home dock in the morning, that the wifi has turned itself on. Has anyone else noticed this? Any idea what's causing this?
View 4 Replies View RelatedEvery day a few times a day i will look at the info bar at the top and the media player will be playing songs. No sound is playing, but it is rolling through my MP3s.Any way to stop this?I've even killed it in Task Killer, but it will start back up even without a power down or battery pull.Not sure if is using battery life, but it is a bit annoying.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a moto droid 1 and my wifi keeps messing up. When I go into wifi to turn on, it will say "turning on" but then immediately say "turning off." It will continually do this over and over again until finally saying "error." Not really sure why or how to fix this, but it is pretty annoying that I can't use my wifi.

I've been using Menu> Settings> Sound and Display to turn sound off and leave vibrate on. Does anyone know an easier way ?
When I make a phone call my droids screen turns off. Then when I angle it a certain way it turns back on. Is this a feature to save battery life or do I have a problem ? Either way its very annoying when I need to use the keypad during a call.

View 7 Replies View RelatedSo one of the cool things about Froyo is being able to check off Enable Automatic Update for market apps. So i have that checked off for like 80+% of my 80+ apps (that took a while to do let me tell you). Now i have had three apps have updates available since i checked off the box, yet they never actually automatically updated. I waited, hours, still never updated. Is there a setting i need to modify? Do i need to tell it what time of day to do it? Anyone else noticing this? I only really want it in apps that i don't care about reading the new features. But it is annoying that i have it enabled and it does nothing.

Is there a better widget to use, if that's how it works? I didn't notice this in 2.1. Those seemed to be on all the time.
View 1 Replies View RelatedMy screen turns black when i wake up my phone. frequent reboots, that it does on it's on, not to mention the lines showing up across my screen. this phone has never been dropped and has a screen protector and case on it. looks like i'll be calling verizon for a replacement - totally unacceptable, but understandable considering it's a new phone.. and it seems these days things are being rushed out the door.

View 10 Replies View RelatedSo at school i was charging my phone on the PC there. All of a sudden my phone turns off. I try to turn it back on and it does turn on. It shows the Motorola logo for a few seconds and turns back off. I went home that day and used by default charger and charged it. It showed the green light. The phone turned on and did the same thing, it shows the Motorola logo for a few seconds and turns back off and if i leave it the process repeats. The green light also flashes a few times. When i press both the volume up and down at the same time, it shows options to either normal powerup, recovery, fastboot, factory and tools. I tried normal powerup, recovery and factory but it would just turn on showing the motorola logo for a few seconds and turn back of.When i unplug the phone and try to turn it on, it wont work.

This always left my apps (handcent, gmail, etc) free to rotate within the app or popup now I only get one or the other if auto rotate is on, apps are stuck in landscape, and vice versa Ive deleted LP and started over, gone into recovery and wiped cache, battery pull running out of ideas?

View 2 Replies View RelatedSince rooting & installing Bugless Beast, my on screen keyboard no longer defaults to upper case when I select a text field. It used to automatically show the upper case layout when I'd select say, the text message compose field, and then drop to lower case after the first letter. Now I have to manually capitalize the first letter. I've checked to make sure that auto capitalize is enabled in system settings. Anybody else have this problem and find a way to fix it?

View 1 Replies View RelatedSince the 2.2 update my screen auto rotation is horrible. When I want it upright, it goes sideways. WHen I hold the phone sideways, it flips the other way. Apps that I open seem to always start out sideways even when the phone is upright. I turn it around, nothing happens. If it does rotate back, it is so delayed you think it is not working. It never seems to be the direction I want it, getting very frustrating and annoying to keep flipping the damn phone around all the time to try to get it right. I sure hope the new FRG22 update, if it ever comes, can fix this problem. So far, 2.2, besides flash, has been a big disappointment for me.
View 27 Replies View RelatedI of course have froyo in my X. However since froyo updated I have been hoping that my apps would update, they are not. I have checkmarked the allow auto update box, even updated some of them manually once afterwords. I have taken the market off my task killer list. I only check it about twice a day, and everytime I have an update (not a manual update but a yellow font update)..nothing happens, I can let it sit on the market downloads screen or sleep my phone or do whatever and it just does not update my apps..does anyone have any ideas as too why this is? Perhaps something is off or being killed by my task killer? I have the two arrows on in the power management android widget (found this out by my gmail not snycing and receiving automatically). Any help is appreciated as I am at a loss as too why this isn't working..my friends droid updates her apps about twice a day.

Also when I get a call the bluetooth button on the bottom left won't turn bluetooth on. I guess it just tells you if its connected but it really should turn it on and connect.

View 1 Replies View RelatedWhen I first got my X it allowed me to manually choose to connect to wifi but lately it just auto connects and I cant turn it off if im in a wifi area. This puts a huge drain on my battery. I'd prefer to have the OPTION to connect to wifi if/when i want to and to use the 3G network otherwise. Any idea how I can address this issue? (I did recently install Launcher Pro. Not sure if that has anything to do w/ it but figured id mention it)
