View 9 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to "jump on the ROM train," and I recently just rooted my phone. I created a flash, reverting back to 2.0.1, and installed the Update.zip in recovery mode (meaning of course that I'm now rooted, with "SuperUser Permission" in my application list. I am now trying to create a nandroid backup, but am having some troubles. I have been following "DroidReview's" youtube video on doing this (YouTube - Motorola DROID - How to Create a Nandroid Backup - Part 1

I let my last attempt sit for nearly the whole 2nd period of the Penguins/Islanders game and it hasn't moved. Any advice? I think I may try a different kernel just for shits and giggles.
I'm considering going stock to see if I can get the 2.1 update but I dont want to loose my rom and junk so if I flash the ClockworkMod Recovery in ROM Manager, will I still be able to restore my nandroid backup I just made with BB0.9?

View 7 Replies View RelatedI have been using Drodmod v1.0 for a while now and kinda bored. I've got it over clocked to 800mhz. Is it possible to make a nondroid backup using driodmod and lets say I want to upgrade to bugless beast rom. I know I can backup my apps using either astro or Titanium Backup utility, but can I take the nondroid backup and mix them into the bugless beast one so once i restore (bugless beast) it will have all of my information and apps already on there???

But I cannot find nandroid back up like I have on my phone when I boot in to recovery mode? I want to make a backup just in case, Plus On that site it says
"Install by copying the BDS-20100308-1659 to your SD cards Nandroid folder"
So I guess I need the nandroid folder.
I've been running Pete's beast, which I installed using the update.zip. I'm considering doing a fresh install via nandroid, but I have one concern: will I lose my apps that I paid for, and all the data? Is there anyway to back them up?

View 5 Replies View RelatedI was running CM6, but I had heard some people saying they were getting even better performance from stock 2.2, so I thought I'd give it a try. I downloaded a 2.2 ROM using ROM Manager and it said I could get a rooted or non-rooted version. The only option I was given was to select Superuser Permissions, which seems to be an app but I don't know how to use it. I know for sure I don't have root anymore. How do I get root back? Is there an easy way to simply restore from the nandroid backup I did prior to this? I don't have clockworkmod recovery anymore. I tried to reflash it but I can't because I don't have root.
View 15 Replies View RelatedI have a question regarding restoring data after flashing to a new ROM (Bugless Beast) via a nandroid backup. I know I have the update.zip option, but that seems to introduce issues for some that I want to avoid. Now, I know I have a few options. I can batch backup apps and data with Titanium Backup, then wipe, install the new build, and then restore via Titanium. Or, I can do a nandroid backup of my phone, wipe, install the new build, and then restore only the data partition of my first backup. My question is, are either of these methods any different from just using the update.zip version of BB? For example, when I upgraded from BB .7.8 to 1.0, I lost root and had to do a full wipe and I just manually reinstalled everything. Will doing the data partition restore or titanium backup restore result in the same issues?
View 10 Replies View RelatedOk so i have root finally but i have a bunch of problems it seems and i really need some help.
1st:
I have smoked glass 4.0 installed and it seems to be super buggy and forces close on me many times in the day. I want to installl 4.5 but it wasnt working for me last night.
My question is should i reboot from my stock nandroid backup.
-Delete the old file.
-install the new smoked glass?
-is it less buggy?
-i love the 2.1 one look is there another ROM that has that?
2nd:
-Im overclocked and my setcpu say 950 but it seems to be running pretty slow and the temp isnt hot which makes me belive it may not be running at that?
-Does it have to do with the theme?
-How can i tell if im truly overclocked?
I'm running rubix focused .5 and its been great, I installed the camera-search-voice fix and didnt have any problems along with having full camera functionality. Eventually I decided to try the Incognito theme since it had a "blurless" version. I noticed it changed my camera icon obviously but I didnt actually open it. I decided I didnt like it, so I restored my nandroid I made immediately before putting the theme on. Next thing I notice, my camera shortcuts are the generic green apk icon. And they dont work, at all.
I nandroid restore to an even earlier back-up (from right after applying rubix) and still no camera functionality. It doesnt appear in my apps under manage applications, the blurcamera.apk is in the system folder, and I tried deleting/replacing that again, and installing it right from the apk and I get an install failed. I don't understand how I could lose my camera app when I restore to a back-up that had it working fine.
I have installed UD8 for about a week now. But ever since I have flashed some kernels (slayers 1100lv, chevys 1100 lv, p31200) I have not had the stability nor the quickness that the original 800 stock kernel gave.
I made a nandroid backup b4 flashing those roms..so my question is this: Do i have to wipe cache/data before i flash my nandroid backup? Or can i just flash it w/o doing any extra steps?
So my Droid's screen recently stopped working and I'm getting an exchange with Verizon. I have to send my dead phone back once I get the new one, and am concerned about the fact that it's rooted running Froyo. I'd like to restore the nandroid backup I made of stock 2.1. Can somebody give me advice on how to do this with a dead screen? Perhaps from the command line on my computer via USB, or perhaps the key strokes to do it in nandroid so I can replicate it by feel?
View 7 Replies View RelatedSo I just rooted my phone and did the SPrecovery and everything. It worked perfect.I tried to install "Bugless Beast" and when I went to install it it said "installation aborted".So i went to do a Simple Nandroid Backup and it went through to process fine. I went to reboot and it started the rebooting process. Now my phone stays on the Motorola icon and thats it.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI had to get a replacement phone. New phone came with 2.2, so obviously I need to root it. But my question is, can I make a nan backup of my old phone, and once my new phone is rooted restore to my old phones backup?
I have heard that a nandroid backup is saved in seperate folders depending on your phones serial number. I'm not sure how true that is. Someone said that I would have to make a nan backup on the new phone so it creates a seperate folder, and then copy my old backup into the new folder, and restore.
