Out of all the things I expected the Droid to do, I never expected the Droid to not utilize this feature. I'm talking about when your playing music and you put the phone in your pocket and press down on the volume controls to change the song. The BlackBerrys have this and I don't understand why the Droid doesn't. It's so annoying taking it out of the pocket, going through the home screen just to change a song.

I'm new here and also with the phone, it's a Motorola Milestone (or Droid.. I think they are the same), it only has 3 weeks i'm having a very strange and annoying problem, if someone can help i will really appreciate it, because it's making me crazy.When I add songs to the SD, the default Music Player the phone brings don't find them.. i tried a lot, configurations, folders, song names, song properties, etc etc.. but none of them worked.It didn't happen always, the first songs i added are there, and can be played normally, but if I add new ones they don't appear in the Music Player.Also the same happens if I add audio to the "notifications" or "ringtones" folder. the don't appear in the proper place to use them.I read somewhere in the forum that the music player have a limit of around 100mb to read music. but it's that true? any way of raising it?

currently I'm using cubed but i dont like it. people swear by it but im not following. its seems a bit clunky, it scrolls terribly, and i dont like the lockscreen controls.
for my question. i can deal with a music player like cubed BUT I'm looking for a music player with lockscreen controls that doesn't disable the timer/alarm notices. the lockscreen controls with cubed is $#!t. you press "unlock" even by accident and it unlocks (dont like that). and it doesn't even show you the time, so i have to completely unlock the phone and lock it again just to view the time. AND i cant see when my next alarm is going to go off. really inconvenient.
Does anyone know of a music player that has lockscreen controls that does not disable the clock/alarm notices when you wake up the phone before you unlock it?
returned my first Cappy today, for a plethora of reasons (Battery, GPS incredibly unsnappy 1ghz processor that my previous iphone 4 crushed) among others. But this one seems to be a happy and healthy cappy so far. Anyway, running in to an issue. I have all of my music in itunes, but converted it and just housed it in windows media player when i took my iphone back and got the captivate. When I put my music on the captivate, I get all kinds of crazy file names, numbers, squiggles and the like. It's showing me the actual file and not what I've tagged it as, so I have very few artwork, cd names, and track names there. I've tried to sync music 2 ways:
1) Hook cappy up to pc under media player mode and sync through windows media player
2) sync with itunes agent
Both methods got the same results. I like my music libary to be smooth and organized, but i can't figure out how to change the files names to what I want! Should i get mp3 tagging software? if so, which kind? Can I just change the name in windows? It's kind of making miss my iphone!
I have the LG Intuition and I sync it with iTunes. I use iTunes because I used to have an iPod and a phone, now since I have both in one, i sold my iPod but kept iTunes. I have a lot of playlists and whatnot. Also most of the music files are something crazy like "it's-a-long-way-2-the-top.mp3" or "Nightclub-Mixers 2012 Monstercat April 101 (DJ Mix Madmax)". I cleaned up all the titles in my iTunes so the title is just the title and so on. But when I sync my phone with iTunes, it uses the file name and it looks like crap. Is there anyway (different music player) or something that uses the name i have in iTunes?

View 4 Replies View RelatedMy music has ID3 version 2.3 tags (most common). About 10% (2,500) of my music is AAC (.m4a) format which is MP4 tagged. All my songs are very organized into 11 different genres. Everything has a title, artist, and album assigned to it and looks great in my iPhone, iTunes, MediaMonkey, and Mp3tag program. When I add my music to my Samsung Fascinate, it reads the tags of my .m4a music but when I go to genre, things are messy. It appears to be putting albums in the genre section (only with .m4a files). Example: Lets say I have an .m4a of Garth Brooks, Thunder Rolls, No Fences (album), Country (genre)In my Samsung Fascinate player, it will be found in the genre section under "No Fences". If I click "Country" genre where it should be, the song will not be listed there. It seems to be reading .m4a Album tags as genre and not reading the appropriate tag "Country".I hope someone can help straighten this out without having either manually edit each song tag OR convert all of them to .mp3 and deplete the song quality.

View 3 Replies View RelatedMy music player is acts very strange, I had 30 songs on my desire and i have just added 9 more. Now all the songs have gone onto the memory card as i have checked on Astro file manager, I saved the songs into the same file as i did previously (My Documents - Music). When i open up music it displayer's 1/39 songs at the top but as i move along it skips a number a couple of times like 2/39 to 5/39 then 7/39 to 9/39 then 30/39 to 32/39 then 34/39 to 38/39, So it is only displaying 30/39 songs. Now i can see all the songs by clicking the bottom left in the music player (Three horizontal lines) then going to "songs" and say i select a song that isn't being displayed i click on it, it starts playing then i simply slide one song then if i slide back the song has dissapeared... for some reason i dont now why some songs are appearing and some arnt, What could be the problem?

View 3 Replies View RelatedOk non-rooted droid. Using the stock media player it will not let me play a certain folder that I downloaded. I can not figure out why it will not play any of the songs on in that certain folder. I downloaded the whole disc set of a certain artist and this is the only folder that does it. I checked and every song is 317 kbps MP3 format. I have some music that I downloaded using iMusic and it is 320 kbps MP3 format, so I have deducted the bitrate as being the issue.

I was listening to the music player and now can't get the program to shut down. It won't force close, I shut it down and pulled the battery, when it re-boots it comes on again and the whole system goes fubar. I can't make calls or anything.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI use MediaMonkey to edit all of my mp3 files so that all my artist, album, year, track number, album art, etc is correct. Today I added an artist (Dub_Fx) with 2 albums and one single to my Droid; the single's album art showed, as well as one of the albums, but the other album's album art isn't showing at all, but I used the exact same method for all of the files. Each mp3 has an imbedded image file saved to the tag, each of them 350x350 images, and none of the mp3 files are protected either. Other programs on my computer show the album art correctly (and I've deleted the images from my computer, just to make sure they were saved to the tag and still show properly), but for some reason it won't show for that one album on the Droid's music player. I've even tried changing the album art to something else, copy over to the Droid, change the album art back, rewrite, and still nothing at all.

However, the sound is MUCH better than my ipod touch. I use my ipod for music and this monster for everything else. Well, my battery in the ipod died so I put the same earbuds in the Droid and was amazed at the sound.Must say that I am constantly amazed with this thing.

Does anyone know of a solution to this? Right now all my music files (28 gigs worth) are wma files....could this be the problem? I want to convert all of them to mp3, anyone know of a quick way to do this. I know there are several programs I can use to do this, it just sounds rather time consuming.
