Motorola Droid :: Cannot Access Yahoo Email Account
Nov 6, 2009I go through Set up Email, type in my email address, password and then click next. It doesn't work. I then go back and hit manual setup, but I don' the answers. I'm assuming it's an IMAP account?

Security Type

Dec 16, 2009Title pretty much says it all. When I try to load a website that has a Mobile site, like CNN.com, it always loads m.CNN.com no matter what I type in. Anyone tell me how to fix that?

Jan 26, 2010I just pulled the battery to do a reset last night after a lockup and today I'm getting notifications everytime I get a new email. it never used to do this and i figured it was just cause I didn't use the gmail. now I'm thinking that it just might be one of the background tasks that I was always killing. I recently switched to home++ and I didn't use the built in task killer all day. so I guess my question is, does anyone know which background task would control this so I don't kill it? also, is there a place to go in the settings to change the led color for email alerts?

Jun 13, 2010Today for some reason, I can't access my Yahoo! email. I've been reading and replying fine until now. I don't know if I accidentally changed a preference or what but if I did, can someone help me set it back. The pop-up message I get now when I try to open a message in Yahoo! email says "complete action using..." and gives me the option to "compose" or "mail". I've tried both but "compose" starts a new mail message to verizon wireless, and clicking on "mail" takes me to a new screen asking me to "Choose a mail provider".

Mar 6, 2010I remembered from my G1 days a way to sync the E-Mail app up to Yahoo's free (not PoP3) servers so I gave it try on my new BH2 and it works just fine:Here are the steps:
1. Enter Yahoo ID and Password (hint, just use your "username", not the whole joeblow@yahoo.com
2. Select Manual Setup
3. Setup IMAP
4. Incoming server is imap.mail.yahoo.com
5. Port is 143
6. Security Type is "TLS (if available)"
7. Leave IMAP path prefix blank
8. Hit next
9. SMTP Server is smtp.mobile.mail.yahoo.com
10. Port is 25
11. Security is again TLS (if available)
12. Check Require sign-in
13. Verify username and password
14. enjoy
To Sync up, you CANNOT be on WiFi (dunno why, maybe Yahoo has a deal with T-Mobile?).One other note: if after rechecking all your settings and it still says "invalid username/password" try going onto your Yahoo Account and change your "Location" to ASIA ! Weird I know, but for some reason, some people can't get this to work with US-English as their Yahoo Locale (not talking about your phone's settings here, all on Yahoo site end!).

Feb 1, 2010I was able to get the work around yahoo email thing to work on my phone but now I have a new situation that's driving me crazy. So at one point, I replied to my yahoo email using the droid and now it seems that it keeps sending the same message over and over and over because my yahoo sent folder shows like hundreds of copies of the same email. Funny thing though is that the person I sent the email to only got the first email and hasn't received the hundreds of dups or they might have and maybe it's been going to the spam folder.how to make this stop?

Nov 6, 2010Anyone noticing their Yahoo notification not showing up in the bar when they receive email? I get the sound, but there is no icon displayed in the bar. When I pull the bar down, I see the message title, but the icon does not appear.
Also, I've noticed on the Messaging app, that the Yahoo icon is missing the purple Y. The icon is just a generic looking envelope. Something has changed with the account. Battery pulls or logging in or out of the account have not helped either.

Dec 11, 2009Is it possible to open the regular Facebook page in the browser? I am almost able to log in to it, but then it asks me for my birthday because I'm not browsing from a "familiar location". So I select my correct birth date from the drop-down menus, but the Login button stays grayed out for some reason and I can't go any further. Has anyone else had any success?My reason for wanting this is so I can access the actual Notifications page. The way I currently have it set up, I get an e-mail notification in Gmail. Then when I click the link in the e-mail for whatever update it's supposed to take me to, it just takes me to the homepage of Facebook Mobile. Then sometimes it won't even list the New Notifications link. This makes it very inconvenient if I want to go find where to reply to a comment or something. I have to know exactly where it is, which is difficult if it's not recent.

Nov 10, 2010I turn the thing on so that I can connect my computer to the internet then upon turning it off, my phone wont send emails thru my yahoo account or sometimes it wont send them thru my yahoo or my exchange email. They just sit in my outbox. Then I can't open them again to save them to be sent later, I only have the option of deleting them. I pull out my battery and then most of the time its all better but I shouldnt have to be doing this. I am starting to have flashbacks of my Blackberry Storm and pulling the battery every 10 minutes. BEZ server for BB (not applicable with Droid)
GoodLink - I have not found that GoodLink is supported on the Droid?
VPN - this is how our iPhone users currently access email.
So I have a few questions:
Is GoodLink supported on the Droid?
Is VPN supported natively on the Droid - or is there a VPN client for the Drod? I am not a developer and don't want to mess with the root for any development, etc.

Feb 9, 2010I'm trying to use Dolphin Browser to access Gmail but it gets stuck at about 1/6 of the wait loading mail.google.com and then goes to a white screen. I tried in the native browser and it works fine. I also tried this with Xscope and same thing as Dolphin browser occurs.

For example, when I try to navigate to eBay - New & used electronics, cars, apparel, collectibles, sporting goods & more at low prices I am ALWAYS redirected to m.ebay.com
Is this a setting within the Dolphin Browser or is this controlled by the website itself??
