I'm using a cable Internet connection on my pc. My router is connected to the pc using cables. However, since my router isn't wireless, my milestone cannot connect to the internet via wifi. Is it then possible to connect the milestone to the computer via usb and use the internet the computer is on, just like how the tethering works, but only the opposite?
1. My laptop doesn't have a wireless card
2. My laptop is connected to a non-wireless router which is then only connected to the modem
3. I'm running on windows 7
4. I have bluetooth both on my comp and phone
I can't get it to connect on my Droid, it started out fine, but ever since this morning I get a "Not Authorized" Message. Any ideas?
View 2 Replies View RelatedHi..I am new to this forum, and to the 'Droid' which is probably way too advanced for my brain to handle..I turn on the Wi Fi settings, it sees my network, I've added my Droid to the Airport Extreme, and I've changed settings to "robustness" as I read in other posts..Nothing seems to work. I am in Extended Network, and the only reason I agreed to get the phone is the salesperson said I could connect to my home computer router..I have searched the internet for hours, and tried different things, but I'm CLUELESS!

View 6 Replies View RelatedI HAVE ALREADY READ THE OTHER THREADS SIMILAR TO THIS!!
My PC won't recognize my Droid Eris and vice-versa. It used to recognize it sporadically, but now it's not recognizing it at all. Null. Zero. Nada.
The USB option is not coming up in my notification bar, so I don't have any option to tap "mount" and the few times my laptop did recognize it, all I got was "USB Device Not Recognized". The only reason I even know the plug works is because when I plug it in, the phone starts charging.
Here's what I've done so far trying to solve the problem:
- I've gone into Device Manager and tried updating drivers with no luck
- I've uninstalled/reinstalled HTC Sync with no luck
- I've rebooted both the phone and the PC several times with no luck
- I've enabled "disk drive" option under default connection type with no luck
And I know everyone's going to point out that there are a dozen or more threads dedicated to this topic, but all those are either
A) because someone didn't know to tap "mount"... or
B) Have gone so off-topic that the thread is irrelevant by this point
So has anyone found a solve to this problem yet?
Note: I'm rooted and I have leaked 2.1 installed. But this has been going on even with 1.5 before rooting.
I am aunable to connect my phone to pc. View 6 Replies View RelatedI'm running into a strange problem. Sitting in my living room with both WiFi and 3G, I sometimes discover I can't connect to Gmail, the internet, etc, and then later I can. As far as I can tell, everything is active. I can connect with my computer using WiFi, so the server is up and running, and my wife's iPod can connect using WiFi.Am I doing something wrong, is there a problem with my Android phone, or is just something that happens with Android?Right now, for example, I am trying to send an email using Gmail and it's sitting in the outbox. I can send and receive on the computer fine.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI got the Droid about a month ago and love it. I do have a problem though: My house is in the same town as a non-verizon CDMA tower (US Cellular) and very far away from the nearest Verizon tower. With my other Verizon phones (older handsets), they just connect to the close tower and have full signal all the time without any issues. My Droid, on the other hand, will always try to stay connected to the distant Verizon tower - it can be very difficult and frustrating to make calls with the Droid because there is often no signal and the phone is unable to place a call. I don't need the 3G at home, as the Droid can use my wireless for browsing, etc. How can I get the Droid to stop trying to connect to the distant Verizon tower and connect to the nearby partner tower instead (so that I have high-quality phone signal at home)? I have called Verizon and Motorola and nothing seems to help.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI did search the forums for this, but couldn't find anything helpful.Maybe I'm not using the right terminology.I have a rooted DX and I want to be able to connect to a share on my home network with Root Explorer. I can do this using the stock "Files" application by going to Shared Folders Add Server. I cannot for the life of me figure out how to do it with Root Explorer. The device I want to connect to (ReadyNAS Duo) supports CIFS and NFS, and I don't care which one of those I use if that helps.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI can't keep my wifi connected on my Droidx. Scanning connecting connected then a few seconds later the wifi icon disappears and it repeats the process seemingly forever. I've discovered that if I use the wps push button method to connect it was stay connected until the wifi goes to sleep when I tries to reconnect I get the scanning connecting connected loop. I've tried different settings in my router (wpa/wpa2 just wpa, just wpa2, tkip, aes) I refuse to go below wpa encryption. My current settings WPA2 AES. I'm running a Linksys WRT400N dual-band router latest firmware, 2.4ghz mode set to mixed b,g,n. Oddly enough, during the time it took my to write this it connected itself and it seems stable now (at least until I let it idle). Phone probably knew I was on here complaining about it but any help you can give me to obtain a wifi connection better without having to spend 15mins each time trying to get it to connect would be great.
View 14 Replies View RelatedHow do I connect to my router at home? I assume its for the best to do when I am at home (better battery life, faster, etc.) but I can't get it to connect. I have a 2wire router and the only time I've ever used the wireless Internet is with my buddies xbox 360. All we had to do there is type in the number code that was on the bottom of the router. When I type this code in on the Droid X it looks for an IP address but is unsuccessful, even when I am sitting right next to it. Does anyone now how I can get this to work? I probably left out info you need to help me too, so if you need anything just ask.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI've noticed on my DX, often if I try to go to a website, the market, or google maps, it'll take a REALLY long time to start working. Even when my 3G light is on, and the down arrow is black, it just sits there.Sometimes the website will say no data connection available, but this is even when i have wifi turned on!I thought this was JuiceDefender so I uninstalled it, but I'm noticing I still have the same problem. I don't want to show off my DX to iPhone friends and have it's not working this time.." moment!
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have had my Droid 2 for two weeks, and I'm still so far from knowing much more than the very basics. I am not in the generation that is born knowing technology, but I'm trying!
My main reason for buying the Droid 2 was the fact that it could be a hotspot. We have a lake house that has no internet access. I want to use it there.
I can't figure out how to connect my computer to its signal. The Droid 2 should be able to do this - Correct?
I have dial up internet so i got the app easy tether on my droid and tried to connect to xbox live using my computer. When i did this it said it encountered an MTU error.what exactly is this and how can i fix it. Also how much data do you think playing on live would use because isn't there a "5 gb limit" on the unlimited phone plan.

I myself have not manually made this change nor install any software that knowingly does this. What I did install yesterday was WinAmp beta, YouTube from market (although everytime I look at my downloads, youtube still says its downloading) ADW Theme found yesterday on DroidLife (which was a waste).

View 5 Replies View RelatedI keep getting notifications about every half hour that Verizon's Visual Voicemail is unable to establish a connection. Then it tells me that it is likely only temporary and to check back later. Is there a problem? How often does it check? I have not gotten any voicemails, so I don't know whether it is actually working.
Edit: it also tells me it can't sync. I had to turn wifi off, but even then it gave these same messages.
