Motorola Droid :: Lost Market Apk - Need Market App

Jul 14, 2010

I've been rooted with Droid Mod forever and have never had any issues or never tried other roms it worked so I've stayed with it. Anyway I was screwing around trying to fix a problem and did a nandroid back up and and restore ( i'm clueless) Did not wipe info (that scares me) and I reflashed the rom a couple times because I kept selecting or deselecting the wrong things. Finally got everything perfect. The phone seemed to like the mini overhaul. But when I rebooted the market apk is gone. No where to be found. All my apps are there but no icon for market. Its just gone. Can I get that, download it desktop, mount, and drag to phone somewhere?

Motorola Droid X :: Market Not Installed After 2.2 OTA

Sep 23, 2010

Like a moron, I got so excited about the Froyo OTA, I forgot to unroot before I upgraded.Luckily for me, the upgrade installed without any errors. The only negative (big one i might add) is that the Android Market is not installed on the phone.Luckily for me I have a backup of about 90% of my apps and was able to reinstall them (after I did a factory reset in the hopes of the market installing itself). My phone is working regualry for the most part besides the last 5 or 6 apps that I installed and hadn't backed up on the sd card.

Motorola Droid :: Bb 0.4 And Market Not Seeing 2.2 Stuff

Aug 18, 2010

I have BB 0.4 installed on my droid, back when pete released it there was a patch avail so the market would work better, my guess is it cheated the market to thinking the 2.2 ROM was 2.1 but I honestly don't know. now that 2.2 is out granted a different build is there a way to set-up BB 0.4 to see the 2.2 content (like flash) in the market until Pete releases 0.5? Otherwise I might try CM RC3 but concerned on battery life with it

Motorola Droid X :: How Do I Lock Market?

Aug 2, 2010

My son was playing on the phone the other day and downloaded a lot of applications. He is only 6 and somehow knew to use the market to download new games.I am worried because it is so easy to buy apps without a password or anything. Plus I would like to be able to control what he can play. Ideally I would like a pin or password to protect the market and perhaps other applications on the phone as well.I am kinda shocked something like this is not built into Android. Can someone recommend the best application locking tool?

Update:
Found another that won't start... "Profiles (cupcake)". I'm wondering if this app is somehow causing issues now after rebooting the phone. It didn't have these issues before the reboot. But, now market and profiles aren't working. Could be related...

Are they just in the process of being ported over? And I see other people talking about how awesome the games run on Their Droid X.

Motorola Droid 2 :: Apps Won't Download From Market

Sep 28, 2010

Yesterday, I noticed that the Social Networking app was not updating. I couldn't find any setting to sync it manually, so I figured maybe a factory reset would do the trick. So....after I did the reset, I noticed that none of my apps were downloading. They all said "downloading" but nothing was happening. So I ended up just restoring from a nandroid backup I did before the reset. Im glad to say that the Social Networking is updating now, but apps are still not downloading . I went to settings/applications/market and cleared the data and rebooted. Still nothing.

Motorola Droid :: ERE25 / Cannot Install Anything With Market?

Mar 4, 2010

Running Ultimate Droid 4.0.1 and tried going to 5.0, threw me into a bootloop, had to pull the battery and restore. Prior to this I was extremely stable, never an FC and OCd to 1ghz no problem running smooth 31-40C, can easily do 1.2ghz but I don't need the extra power. All with droidmod's kernel. So now after this debacle I can't even use the market, as anytime I try to install something I freshly download it FCs. (process com.android.vending). I did do a wipe in SPRecovery before restoring. Any way to fix this constant FCing? It is 100% reproducible. I don't want to give up all my appdata, and unfortunately I don't have titanium installed, I tried but as I stated before that I can't install anything with market.

Motorola Droid :: Market Won't Stay Open?

Aug 4, 2010

Going from cyanogen 5.0.8 to cm6 rc2. I cannot get market to stay open and contacts won't let me import from SD. Is there a fix for this? I'm trying not to have to lose all my data by wiping. It seems stable enough except the market / contacts issue. Tried fixing permissions, didn't help. Wondering if I need to get a updated contact - market. No idea. I've already got a backup of a wiped upgrade but was hoping this would work as my SMS data disappears with a wipe not to mention the rest of my data. Leaving the data is working more stable than when I wiped and tried that, except market / contacts. Wiping I'm getting fcs and battery pulls.

Motorola Droid :: HTC Releases Its Own Widgets On Market?

Dec 17, 2009

HTC debuts widgets for Sense-equipped Android phones -- Engadget.Engadget-"HTC was already in the Android software game by virtue of the fact that it drops a fully-customized UI and widget suite on some of its models, but this is new: they've migrated over to the Market. Now, what'd be insanely awesome here is if you could, say, buy Sense for $9.99 and install it on any Android device, but yeah, not so much -- what we've actually got here is a four-pack of free widgets that are compatible with the Hero and Droid Eris. Dice, Today in History, Tip Calculator, and Battery are each downloadable individually; none are particularly exciting or different than what's already available in the Market, but they've all got that famous HTC high style and the exclusivity of knowing that Motorola, Acer, Samsung, and Huawei riffraff can't use them. All four are available now."
