lately i have been problems with my droid when i try to make a call it takes really long and it freezes up and then it will give me a error message that my activity dialer is not responding. then it will give me the option to force close or wait. it also shuts down on me during calls and has been freezing up on me when i try to use it.

View 8 Replies View RelatedI just received my refurb droid x and its complete garbage. All stock and it lags like crazy in every aspect of the phone. I've literally shut it off three times the past hour to avoid throwing it. my swype keyboard will stop responding for twenty seconds after every word. Sometimes it stops in the middle of words. Every part of the phone behaves like this. I'm going to try a custom rom to see if it helps. It came installed with 2.2 also. Anyone else having these problems with refurb phones?
View 18 Replies View RelatedHalf the time that I am using the phone doing normal things ex: writing a text, going to the market, opening up an app, etc. the phone will not respond to my touch. I have to lock my phone and then unlock it to get it to respond.
I personally don't think that is normal and if it is it should not be a normal thing someone has to deal with.
All of a sudden my screen stopped responding to touch input on the home screen where you have to slide to unlock.
If I hold the power button the phone options (silent mode, airplane, and power off) buttons work, but I cannot physically slide to unlock the phone.
I need to get into the phone to backup some information, is there a way to bypass the unlock screen? the keyboard works and so does the screen, but for some reason I can't hit the slider at the bottom of the screen to unlock or mute the phone.
My Touch screen was acting up the last few days (not responding intermittently) and then yesterday I installed a new rom from Jrummy (Kangerade V5.0.9)... once it booted up I was unable to "Touch the Droid to Start" or whatever is says and after multiple battery pulls and restoring to old roms, nothing has changed.. When they boot up I cant get past the lock screen..
I went to Verizon and they are sending me out a new phone should be here tomorrow or Friday. Do I need to be worried about sending a rooted phone back to Verizon? Is there anything that I can try to do to unroot with out my touch screen working? Is there a way to get the screen working again?
I can still boot into Clockwork Recovery, and all the hard buttons work. Obviously I am a novice with all of this, so your patients and understanding is appreciated.
I got my droid2 as a replacement for my droid from verizon after the droid crapped out with 2.2. Now, when I turn on the flash, it's yellow instead of white. Also, when I go into contacts and click on someone, most of the time the number doesn't show. Also sometimes when press the call button next to someones name in the phonebook, it will call someone else. Ex: tried to call my friend Dave and it called Scott.. Not even close to each other in the list...
The camera only works half of the time. When I try open up camera by either pressing the app icon or the hard button, it wont open. There are also times that when I open an app, another app will open. Like I tried to open maps and Dominoes game opens. Other times I tried to answer a call and I try to swipe over and it doesn't slide.
When I am using the on screen keyboard in the vertical position, the "q" and the up arrow key don't work. When I push them the button next to it depresses. So when I hit "q" the "w" key is depressed. When I push the up arrow the "z" key gets pushed. All of the other keys appear to work. This crept in the last few days. I am currently running the Bugless Beast .4 with no theme at this point. I did a full wipe before the install. I also loaded the stock 2.1 and did a wipe before I loaded. To troubleshoot I have done the following:
Wiped the phone
Loaded a new ROM - Problem was there from the start
Let the apps restore from the market and then did a shut down and a battery pull
Keyboard worked perfectly for about 5 minutes then started acting up again
Created a new Google account that would have NO saved settings or application in the market
Wiped the phone again
Loaded BB .4 and logged in with the new account I created
Issue still exists
When I have the phone in landscape mode the number key when pressed hits the Shift button above it and occasionally the screen locks up. I have to hit the power button to turn the screen off and then back on and swipe and then I can use the keyboard again. I tried to load Better Keyboard version 5.x and still had the same keys busted. I got this phone through Craigslist back in January so I have no warranty.
Any one have this happen? I reboot, turned off overclock (was at 800mhz), pull battery, no go. Think it could be rom related? I am thinking of installing a new rom and wiping the phone, not sure.
Anyone have this happen before?
Sometimes with the home or back button not responding at times? Kind of like a freeze where u have to press the buttons a couple of times then they will respond. Also, have you noticed that sometimes that pressing the power button will not wake the phone up? And when my phone call ends, it takes a while for the screen to come back from black so I can end the call. Should I get an exchange for my phone or are these issues supposed to be resolved with the update coming?
View 1 Replies View RelatedSo with the last few ROMs I've had installed, I've tried moving apps to the sdcard. I figured it would be a good thing, even if I wasn't running out of room. Every time I move more than just a few apps to the sdcard, my whole phone starts getting laggy. I just moved all of my apps back to phone and the "lagginess" is gone. I currently have UD8.0 installed, but it has behaved this way with LFY and Pete's BB ROMs as well. So it doesn't seem to be a ROM related.

The lack of BT voice dial is really annoying, I was looking for a solution and found, maybe, this. It doesn't look perfect (still have to activate through phone, not BT)...has anyone tried it?Might be worth $4 if it works since I don't see when real VD is going to be added to Android.
View 10 Replies View RelatedBeen running Rubix since 1.6 release. Recently updated to 1.8.9. Been running it for a day then decided to theme it. I put Buyers Beware on it and ran it for half a day. Ran great!! Saved a backup and then flashed back to my bare 1.8.9 backup and installed Sinful Blue theme. Ran this theme for a day. Last night I noticed that my Settings menu was missing. It wasn't there. Couldn't find it anywhere. Opened spare part to look at battery info and it forced closed. Then I noticed that everything in spare parts FC'ed. Fed up I flashed back my good Buyers Beware backup. Once rebooted there was no service. Funny, unlocked the phone and there is no dialer. It says that application isn't loaded on my phone. Also my contacts app is gone. Gettin' worried. Flashed back to my bare 1.8.9 backup and everything works great. For kicks and giggles I rebooted recovery and loaded the Buyers Beware theme again, the one that worked great when I first installed....NO DIALER AGAIN! Back to bare 1.8.9 I go.

Now with Froyo sporting its own Bluetooth voice dialer, does anyone know if there's a way to switch to it? I am running 2.2. My biggest issue with the Motorola bluetooth voice dialer is that'll take up to 30 seconds from the time I press the dial button on my bluetooth device till it'll be ready for me to say a command. Totally unacceptable! Is my only option to go to a custom ROM?

However, if i switch to the favorites or contacts tabs at the top my phone will exit out of the dialer back to the home screen. I hope this is something that can be fixed over an update. Btw if i go directly to contacts from the home scrren it works fine.

I use a blutooth headset, and use that because I work outside and my hands are usually sweaty or wet. The issue is that it's awful. It hardly ever hears me correctly, and without any warning it calls the wrong person! Very annoying at 7 in the morning, or 10 at night when you start dialing random people.I tried a different method, saying "open contacts" and it still dials random people.The Google Voice App understands me perfectly when I use it for texting or email. View 5 Replies View RelatedI had to call in to the automated system and enter my jury ID number and pin. The ID number is 9 digits and the pin is 4 digits. When punching these numbers in using the stock dialer, the system I was calling kept messing up. It didn't prompt me like it should, and when it read my entries back to me, they were wrong. The system would report that I'd entered 88 when I'd entered 80 or something. I tried this 3 or so times before I started to think my phone was the problem. I called back with another phone and it worked fine (it was some old Motorola phone but I've actually interacted with this system using my iPhone 3G in the past just fine). I called the system back with my X and, this time, punched in the numbers slowly (half a second or so between key presses). This time, everything went swimmingly. I haven't replicated this on other automated systems, but it's clear at least one of them has a problem with the X's stock dialer when it's used quickly. Anyone have a similar problem?

Did a battery pull. Phone boots, but doesn't let me get to screen to unlock. Just loops by itself has dialer up , keeps trying to dial 8, gets error message, call not sent, 8 is not an emergency number. clicks ok by itself and trys again. I have wavesecure and lock code.Anyway possible to stop this and get in and break this up. I can't get to screen at all, i can't unpower it, if i try that it keeps doing this in airplane mode.
