Motorola Droid :: Activity Home Acore FC?

I thought it was the Luna theme I had over NexBeast, took that off and went to regular NexBeast with Nex theme. Still get this acore everyso often. NexBeast had the ADW launcher (beta) so I thought it was this - I went to the RC of ADW - still... What could be causing this.? On a side note, I am having issues installing and switching LWP in the system-app folders. Why acore. I am going to fix permissions right now.

I want to add home screen shortcuts to individual chat rooms, in my app.
Here's my code to do so:
CODE:.............
When I go to add the shortcut to my home screen, I get a Force Close, not on my own process, but on com.android.acore(!). I've run the debugger and verified that my code gets executed all the way to the call to finish().
If I do this instead for the EXTRA_SHORTCUT_ICON:
intent.putExtra(Intent.EXTRA_SHORTCUT_ICON, R.drawable.icon);
It works fine and places the shortcut, and the shortcut behaves correctly -- but of course the shortcut has the stock Android icon, not mine, since this isn't the proper way to specify the icon.
When I look at the source code of other apps that have done this, and at the one example of it in the official Android reference area, my code looks identical. My icon's a standard 48x48 png that I use for the app's main icon, without problems. I've verified this problem on an emulator running stock 1.6, haven't tested other versions.

On the car dock the "Car Home" was default to the home key on the Droid. If I backed out of Car Home to get to an app or something, I would just touch the Home key and it would get me back to car home.

I just created my own "Home" to replace the stock android one or Sense.
All is working fine and I get all I want. My only problem is to replace to long press on home key ( that usually show the last 6 activities you launched) by my own launcher.
I successfully replace the long press on MENU button with this code:
CODE:..........
and this part part for the long press:
CODE:.............
But the problem is that I wasn't able to replace the KeyEvent.KEYCODE_MENU with KeyEvent.KEYCODE_HOME
Is that something locked in the code that avoid user to use a Home long press?

One thing that's bothering me about SH... I don't use Beautiful Home anymore. In fact, I've removed all beautiful widgets from all my home screens and home screen replacement apps. Yet for some reason I get the weather thing in my status bar as if I had Beautiful Home running. Which means it's somehow being run without being told to. And it only does this with Sweeter Home.

I am desperately trying to get my head wrapped around how to implement home screen widgets. Right now, I (finally) was able to get a button on my widget respond to a button press setting up an intent filter in the manifest.
However, I cannot for the life of me figure out how to launch an activity when the button is pressed. Basically, here's the code i have...
What I really want to do, though, is start a new activity, not display a toast message. I know it has something to do with pending intents, but I can't figure out how to get that to work.

I like switching between the stock home and Launcher Pro and ADW. Since the 2.2 update, when I use a home switcher to use one of the replacements, my phone defaults back to the stock home screen when I hit the hardware home button on the bottom of my Moto Droid. Is there a setting I am missing to change this. Even when I select the replacement as "default" using the Home Switcher, it still reverts back to the stock one when I hit that home button.

The application Home (process com.motorola.blur.home) has stopped unexpectedly.
and gives me the Force Quit button.
It usually happens when I'm texting or using the Messaging widget on the home screen and today it has been happening very often!! Starting to get annoying.

I recently experienced the cyclic - and somewhat random: "Android.process.acore has stopped unexpectedly" problem and googling it mostly came up with nothing and in a few cases "fixed it by wiping the phone". I found that unsatisfactory, so I decided to dig deeper. To me it was pretty clear that this was sync related - turning off Contacts sync stopped it from happening. Turning it back on will trigger the problem within a few seconds. So it would seem that something in my G1 Contact database will not transfer to Gmail's Contact database. Sadly I could not find any useful trace, but at least I knew roughly when it had happened.
By comparing what I could see in the database and what actually was visible in the Contact Editor I tracked it down to that I had some Contact Postal Addresses that had a TYPE with a value > 3. In the editor these will still show up as "HOME" ("Other" would have been more appropriate IMHO). If I fiddle this to some other value and save the contact again the problem disappears. In my opinion it would make sense for the acore sync process to handle incorrect values by replacing them with HOME/OTHER instead of crashing. I have not dug into the source, but I would think it would be a trivial fix. I suspect there might be several similar cases where a default fallback would make more sense than to crash the sync. In retrospect I also know how this happened to me: I optimistically used the Phone label to produce a Postal Address label - it never occurred to me that they could be different.

I have a new Samsung Moment phone and keep getting the error Sorry! The process android.process.acore has stopped unexpectedly. This error does not seem to have a trigger, just happens when the phone is sitting there. I have tried a master reset of the phone and it did not resolve the problem. I've checked all contacts and I do not see any problems with them but I am not real sure what to look for as it doesn't error out on any particular contact. Facebook is not used on the phone so it's not a sync problem there. Are there any logs on the phone I can look at to pinpoint where this might be coming from? Or should I just take the phone back to sprint for a new one?

I'm on orange, and I've just updated from 1.15.61.10 1.22.61.1 then to 2.17.61.2 (2.2 - froyo). After updating I've been getting quite a few process.android.acore force close messages. This error message was coming up during anything and everything I was doing. So I've done a factory reset, but after that, I'm still getting the messages. Maybe not so frequently but still getting them.

I've been flashing ROMs built on the latest code for Jelly Bean (4.1.1). (The phone is the Galaxy Nexus LTE.)
The battery has been draining fast and upon checking with OS Monitor, I learned that a bunch of android.process.acore processes, sometimes alone and sometimes with another, have been registering high CPU loads continuously until they run the battery down. They are Contacts Storage, User Dictionary, and DRM Protected Content Storage. (DRM is probably not an acore service but it is making trouble just the same.)
I tried winnowing down the problem by deleting the contact store data and resyncing while de-activating third party syncers like HacSync. I even tried cleaning up the contacts via Google on the web. The contacts number only a few hundred. Again, the processes up claiming huge load after the initial sync period.
I scoured the web for reports but have only found mentions dating back to Gingerbread or ICS involving Facebook. Facebook sync doesn't work with JB and again, I have disabled HaxSync.
I also froze User Dictionary with Titanium Backup but that did nothing to keep the process from running, even after a reboot.

I have a non-rooted Droid 2 and the Desk/Home dock. When I first tried it out, it worked as expected-starting the home dock screen when placed in the dock. However, I now find that whenever I dock the droid, the notification bar shows that it is connected to the multimedia dock but it does not start the dock application. I used Astro to browse the /system/apps folder and found the Dock app- clicked on Open App manager and then Launch at which point I get a message saying "Activity not found com.motorola.dlauncher". I don't know if this is why nothing is happening when I dock the Droid but can anyone tell me why this suddenly stopped working and what I can do to get it working again?

I am trying to solve an issue sort of similar to what was done here (link text)Except in my case where Activity A, started Activity B, started Activity C, when the user resumes the app after pressing the home button - I want C, the last Activity, to be displayed. Instead what is happening is I am back to A.Also on a side note I have discovered that even when I exit the application, if I hold down the Home button, my app is still listed as an active app even though in the LogCat I can see that it exited OK.Also, in case it matters, I did recently add android:launchMode ="singleTask" in order to make some notification logic work correctly. I was seeing the Home button behavior before that though.
Activity B actually has several Activities that it chooses from (it has a list of Intents) to display based on input it receives but launches them all the same way as Activty A launched B. Once the first Activity is displayed the user swipe the screen to navigate to the left or right screen. When the user swipes left or right, the current activity puts info in its return Intent that Activity B uses to display the next Activity. Also since logic outside of the user's control could prompt a change in the screen displayed, each Activty calls finish on itself in onStop to avoid back-button issues.

I saw another thread related to this question, but did not find the answer that was useful to me. Is it possible when the user presses the Home button to be able to finish() my activity somewhere? I saw that people were having problems with using onStop(). Has anyone found a resolution to see if this is always called on Home being pressed?

I'm experiencing kind of strange behavior of my application after hard Home button is pressed. When you press Home, everything is OK - my app goes to the background, showing Home screen. But if you try to choose my app in the main menu or in the list of last tasks it behaves like it was not started before and does not show the last activity you were on - it just starts from scratch, namely, shows the splash screen and starts next corresponding activities. Moreover, old activities of this app remain on the activities stack, and previous instance of the app is not terminated - so if you press Back for a few times you'll just run into those activities which were undoubtedly started during the previous session of work with my app. Splash screen activity is filtered by "android.intent.action.MAIN" filter and "android.intent.category.LAUNCHER" category. The strange thing is that all of that happens despite the fact that I do not intercept any Back key hits, or override any onPause or onResume methods. What's happening contradicts with my understanding of Android app lifecycle - I was sure that when you hit Home an app just goes to the background, and when you choose it in the menu later - it just unwinds and does not start anew. (Of course, unless stuff like that is stated in the app manifest or corresponding methods are overridden or something else). I also checked it for some other lifecycle events - such as changing orientation or flipping hard keyboard out - and none of those led to such strange results. It appears that the problem occurs when you try to start the app from main menu or menu of last applications.
