Please try again." And I have no other choice but to click "force close"... Another thing is, even though my contacts' names appears in the messages in my inbox, when I click on the phonebook icon, the phonebook is empty...

Nov 27, 2009I have a new Samsung Moment phone and keep getting the error Sorry! The process android.process.acore has stopped unexpectedly. This error does not seem to have a trigger, just happens when the phone is sitting there. I have tried a master reset of the phone and it did not resolve the problem. I've checked all contacts and I do not see any problems with them but I am not real sure what to look for as it doesn't error out on any particular contact. Facebook is not used on the phone so it's not a sync problem there. Are there any logs on the phone I can look at to pinpoint where this might be coming from? Or should I just take the phone back to sprint for a new one?

May 11, 2010Every 5 minutes this error pops up "Sorry! the process android.process.acore has stopped unexpectdly. please try again." It doesnt actually close anything. It pops up even when im not in an app. So it's more annoying than anything.

Apr 4, 2009I recently experienced the cyclic - and somewhat random: "Android.process.acore has stopped unexpectedly" problem and googling it mostly came up with nothing and in a few cases "fixed it by wiping the phone". I found that unsatisfactory, so I decided to dig deeper. To me it was pretty clear that this was sync related - turning off Contacts sync stopped it from happening. Turning it back on will trigger the problem within a few seconds. So it would seem that something in my G1 Contact database will not transfer to Gmail's Contact database. Sadly I could not find any useful trace, but at least I knew roughly when it had happened.
By comparing what I could see in the database and what actually was visible in the Contact Editor I tracked it down to that I had some Contact Postal Addresses that had a TYPE with a value > 3. In the editor these will still show up as "HOME" ("Other" would have been more appropriate IMHO). If I fiddle this to some other value and save the contact again the problem disappears. In my opinion it would make sense for the acore sync process to handle incorrect values by replacing them with HOME/OTHER instead of crashing. I have not dug into the source, but I would think it would be a trivial fix. I suspect there might be several similar cases where a default fallback would make more sense than to crash the sync. In retrospect I also know how this happened to me: I optimistically used the Phone label to produce a Postal Address label - it never occurred to me that they could be different.

Nov 24, 2010So, I decided to give Tridents ROM a try about 10-minutes ago.
I used ROM Manager, backed-up my old ROM, then downloaded Velocity 0.2.
Now, my phone will do nothing, it turns on and shows the red Droid eye, then when it's time to go to the home screen I get pop-up after pop-up saying that "The process com.android.phone has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again."
I have no way of getting on my phone at all, what can I do?

Don't know if there is a connection, but when I need to update an app, I get the message something like "process android media process stopped unexpectedly" and it will not allow the update. Everything else works well. I have turned it off for awhile, and have done a battery pull.

When I searched for this message it seemed to be related to people using Gmail, but I always get this message when I'm doing other things and not even touching my Gmail account.

Apr 22, 2009For some reason I can't explain, when my app runs, I will on occasion get the following error message: "The application xxxxxxxx (process xxxxxx) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again". When I debug my code, it seems to break at random places that doesn't make sense. On top of that I tried to surround the entire code with a try/catch block just to try to catch the exception, but it doesn't work either. I'm suspecting it's the OS that is producing this error message but I don't know why. As far as my code goes, if there were exceptions caused by it, it would've been caught by the try/catch block. Can someone shed some light here?

Feb 19, 2010I just started to get "The process com.htc.provider has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again. FORCE CLOSE" error. I think I've narrowed it down to my HTC Weather widget, because I noticed that it now states "Current City" instead of the city name, such as Pittsburgh. So, when I open the weather apps and hit the refresh button, I get the error everytime I hit the refresh button.
The only apps I've installed since this started to happen are MyApps, Lookout (Update), MyVerizon (Update) and CNN News (Update).I've only had the ERIS for about two weeks and this is the first time I've encounter this error.

So when I start my droid eris up this is what I am getting. The phone gets no signal. When I start up the phone is asks me if I want to use "htc sense" or "home". I did download "91pandahome" and I guess also "home". I can't go to settings and turn on WiFi or mobile 3g. iIhave no cell signal.

I seem to remember it wanted to update about a week ago, so I hit ok and then the update failed. It has not asked to try and update again since then....

(I was on WiFi) This morning, I pull down the Activity bar and see that the phone thinks the Download is still continuing. I couldn't see anyway to force quit other than turning off the phone. Nov 15, 2010Can anyone recommend a decent (preferably free) 3g process monitor for my still-stuck-on-1.6 X10?
I already have a general data counter - I use NetCounter - but I want something that shows me which processes or apps are using 3g in real time.
The reason is that something on my phone is regularly up and downloading through 3g. It's not using much data, but it is doing it often and running down my battery. I've checked all the usual suspects to see whether updates are turned on, but it's none of them.
I suspect that I've installed something new that's doing it, but I can't find what it is. I could uninstall everything and build my apps back up one by one, but a 3g process monitor should tell me exactly what's going on.
