In the search of the best way to sync a non-gmail e-mail account I've noticed to separate camps on using the Corporate Sync option instead of just the e-mail option on "MY ACCOUNTS".For someone who has used the Corporate Sync option on their phone, could you share how you set it up as far as inputting the fields.

I have two accounts configured on my Droid X 2.1 - gmail and a corporate activex account. I get notifications for a new email coming into gmail but nothing in corporate. Under settings - accounts - corporate, I do see calendar, contacts and email are checked to sync. Also under settings -> data mgr, I have data push enabled and the fetch schedule is the minimum 15 minutes.However, if I have push enabled, I expect the email should notify immediately. Right?

View 5 Replies View RelatedMy wife works for a Fortune 100 company.They allow iPhones and non-Motorola Android based phones to access the Exchange servers for e-mail & calendar.The reason they state for not permitting Motorola is that Motorola states they retain *all* data on the phone and the right to use any/all of it in any way they see fit.First of all, I find this hard to believe. But I do believe there may possible be something alluding to this in the vague language that is the TOS/EULA. i can not get anyone at her company to tell me specifically where they have seen this and why they believe it to be true.In the absence of proof from corporate, I would like to know if anyone has heard or seen of anything like this from Motorola or a corporate mail provider. I have a few tech contacts in the media arena that if i can point this out to them very specifically, they can raise a stink about it and get it changed - like TOS/EULA's have been changed over the years by media pressure.

I checked the boxes that I wanted contacts and calender to sync and checked off the email one.I hate to seem like an idiot here, but where and how does the calender and contacts sync and show up on my phone? Is there some other software needed here or an add on plan from Verizon?

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have been getting the message 'as meeting organizer no response is required' in Outlook when people send me updates and I am not the meeting organizer. From reading around it seems it may be an issue with syncing the calendar which I have stopped but it did not fix the appointments.
I was looking for a way to do a one way sync or something but have not come across a way to do this in corporate sync. Not sure the issue but was hoping someone here may have seen the same issue. By the way email and contacts work just fine.
I have 2 Exchange accounts and I have been able to configure both of them for Push notification to my Droid 2, I was wondering does anybody know how I can just open the second account in case I wanted to read an email that came in earlier that I have already looked at and therefore does not show up in my notifications any longer? When I open the Email application it only shows my Default account and it does not appear to give me any options to open and look at my second account.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI just got my D2 the other day and have it all setup, but something I've noticed differently from the D1 is that all my Outlook/Exchange e-mails take 5-10 minutes to be delivered even with the Push feature turned on. On the Droid 1, the messages were delivered instantly ometimes even before they arrived in my Outlook client at my desk.
I have it setup as a Corporate Sync account with all the same settings, but I feel like they have taken a step backwards with the Corporate Sync settings. I'm running 2.2.20 (rooted of course), but it's just a hit or miss when the messages come in. I did call VZW's tech line and the lady on the phone said there was some memo about this issue. She didn't mention if there was a work around, or if a fix is coming. It's almost as if the Sync button doesn't do anything.
I just purchased my Moto Droid last week. It has been great to this point with few problems. The one item I have not been able to figure out is as follows:
When I input an event on my corporate calendar on the Droid it does not sync back to my exchange server calendar. It works great in the other direction.
I must be overlooking something.I am simply trying to get my phone to keep contacts synced with Google Contacts and I don't want "All" contacts just "My Contacts".Every time I send an email in Gmail, it automatically adds it to all contacts.It is going to bloat my phone.

My only two choices are to access through my Android Chrome browser or find a way to make my Jelly-bean Android mail app look like it is a Windows phone. ...or a 3rd part mail app that looks like a Windows/windows phone mail client
I prefer the mail client route as it keeps in sync with updates.
I'm a recent WinMo convert and just got my Droid 2 with Froyo because of the Corporate Sync.I configured my OWA work email and appear to be getting all my email but I noticed i'm missing some Contacts.Is there a way to fix this without manually entering in the missing ones?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am honestly pretty ignorant when it comes to messing with my phone. I am trying to add a new contact on my phone and something new just occurred. When I press the icon to add a new contact, it is requiring me to choose a corporate account in which to sync my contacts to before it even allows me to enter the contact. There does not appear to be an option to skip this. I do not want to sync my contacts with anything. I want my contacts on my local phone storage only. Is this something specific to just my phone? I am currently using a rooted LG spectrum running Avatar ROM version 3.0.1-1434-20130723-vs920.

All is good there.My problem is that the handsfree bluetooth system in my car will only sync contacts with the Captivate's built-in Phone address book (vs the "Corporate" address book in Contacts Display Options).Right now, I have been exporting Corporate Contacts to the SD card and then importing them from the SD card into the Phone contacts. This can be a chore when I have to add/modify/delete a contact in my Corporate contacts as I have to delete all the Phone contacts and then redo the export/import every time there is a change.Is there anyway to sync changes automatically between the Corporate address book and the Phone address book? Am I overlooking something really simple?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have 2 gmail accounts. Unfortunately, one of them is for my calendar and contacts and the other is for my personal e-mail. As of now, my cal and contacts are syncing fine but I do not use the e-mail account that is associated with thier username. I have my other account (personal e-mail) set up sepeartely....along with a few other e-mail accounts(work and etc.). I would like to know if i can leave my cal and contacts setup on the regular droid sync account but change the e-mail account to my personal acct. so it will "push" by default with out having it in a seperate palce on the droid. I know this is confusing but i dont know how else to explian it.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI've got two Corporate Exchange Accounts with which I want to be able to Sync both email and calendars with my Fascinate. My wife has the Motorola Droid 2 with Android 2.2 and it supports multiple Corporate Sync (Exchange) Accounts. (She has three exchange accounts - two part time jobs and one for personal). I bought the Fascinate, but after I got home realized it only will support one Corporate Sync account natively. I have downloaded and installed Touchdown temporarily to handle my second Exchange Account, but Touchdown also only supports one account. I'd much prefer to use the same application for both accounts so I can see my calendars overlayed.
As I understood it, Android 2.1 supported multiple exchange accounts, but I think Samsung made a decision to override that, by including an Email app on the Fascinate that only supports one account. Has anybody heard about Fascinate's Android 2.2 (Froyo) update and whether or not it will support multiple Corporate accounts? With the exception of not supporting Multiple Exchange accounts, this phone really hit it out of the park for me. Great screen, thin and light, fast, 3G Hotspot (so I can get rid of my aircard). I'm 4 days into my 30 days with Verizon. I hope we hear something about Fascinate's 2.2 update before then.
I set up my corp exchange email account and the email part of it works flawlessly. The calendar on the other hand is very quirky. On the first Sync I noticed that not ALL appointments were brought over from my Outlook Calendar. Upon researching it seems that the meetings not coming over are all recurring meetings. Some were from other people that I was invited too but most were recurring meetings I had created on my own calendar.
I did some testing to isolate the behavior:
Create single appointment in Outlook
It shows up perfectly on the Fascinate.
In outlook change the appointment to recur monthly
Appointment vanishes from Fascinate.
Remove recurrence from appointment in Outlook
It comes back to Fascinate.
The same behavior can be seen when creating a fresh appointment with recurrence. The problem seems to be isolated also to recurrence set for the "every third wednesday" or something similar. It works for monthly on the 20th for instance.
Firmware version is: 2.1-Update1
Build: SCH-I500.DI01 (downloaded today and did not correct sync issue)
I am using Office 2007 Outlook to pull email from gmail. I want to add personalized ringtones to contacts but can't when syncing with gmail (weird), apparently I can with Outlook if I can figure out how to sync with it. I have a Samsung Fascinate.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have an Exchange account with my school that I sync my email and contacts to my android phone with no problems. However, the school made a shared calendar for our class schedules that I added to my Exchange account (by adding the URL), but this calendar will not sync to my phone. If I create my own events in my personal calendar, that works fine and shows up, but the calendar that I added from the school will not. It shows up just fine on Outlook on the PC.
My current solution is to just add that calendar to my google account and sync it, but the problem with that is that our class schedules can sometimes change suddenly and gmail doesn't sync very often, which has led to some problems for me in the past. I would much rather have the direct syncing of the calendar to my phone instead of through google.
What makes it more aggravating is that my friend has no problem syncing the calendar with iOS, so I know it should be possible. I've tried using Touchdown but that has the same problem.Here is an image from the Outlook Web app showing both calendars

Sorry if this has Been asked a million times but can I add a yhoo mail account to the android mail app? I have tried various settings in the manual add section but can't add a yahoo mail account. would much prefer not to use the yahoo mail app from the store!

View 3 Replies View RelatedOpen the email inbox, tap the search icon and the keyboard appears - but no search box. When I'd seen that before I thought it was just an odd defect.
When you start typing the letters you type appear above the keyboard and the emails are filtered on subject/sender by what you type.
Very cool...would like to have things like sorting by subject/sender, and searching contents, but heck, getting any search at all in exchange email on the Droid is great...does not exist in stock 2.2.
Hopefully I'm not the only one who didn't know. I'm on the 2.3.15 leak...no idea if it is in 2.2.20 as well...
I have my corporate email on the Droid X. On outlook, I have "rules" set up to where certain emails go into certain folders. I have a few hundred total folders set up. When i get my email on the Droid X, the only thing that pops up are the emails in my inbox. I have to go into each individual folder and refresh it to view anything else.
