wheni try to install velocity v.3 i get an error that says verification process failed, and that i have a corrupt ringtone in E:/system/media/ringtones.

I'm trying to update from Villian 5.3 to 10.2. But keep getting E:corrupt file messages and E:verification failed. I followed the tutorial that's how I was able to do 5.3, but don't matter. How many times I download it 10.2 just keeps coming up with the same message when I try to flash it, usual the file it claims is corrupted is different for different downloads, never had this before with any flashing I've done.

Cause they are always complaining about how it is slow.
My LG Ally is stuck at the "VELOCITY" boot screen and is stuck in a loop. I had Velocity 0.3 flashed yesterday and I decided to re-flash today. I have tried wiping data/files/cache/dalvik cache. I'm stuck and I don't know what to do. Also I never did a Nandroid backup (because I'm slow).

When I look in the market, there are TONS of them and most of them only make the touch screen turn bright.P.S. I did have Velocity 0.3, but went back to just a stock rom with Universal Androot. Google maps, which I actually use a lot, was being very slow and buggy for me.

Its basically only an edit of the status bar, battery icon, browser background, and for no reason what so ever made the gtalk icon grey scale.Like I said, testing the waters here and only did a tiny bit of modifying. When Velocity 0.2 comes out I will be making a more detailed theme. This is just something to throw on your rom while you wait.Note: This will not completely replace your current theme if you have one. This theme will work best when installed on the stock theme.Beautiful Widgets and launcherpro not included.
View 8 Replies View RelatedSo with 2 ROM's out now everybody want's to know the "under-the-hood" benefits of both ROM's. Both Velocity and Raptor report 6.8 MFLOPS with Linpack, no OC, just the Turbo. Testing battery on both, will let you guys know tomorrow.

My opinion: In my opinion Velocity is snappier but I'll post more on this by tomorrow so check back!
I have the haptic feedback enabled and it works for everything that I have used except the virtual keyboard.
I'm wondering if anyone else has this issue. I have the OC kernel as well set at 729/245.
I have my lg Ally with the new Jit kernel (Thanks Drellisdee), with Velocity 0.2 (Thanks Trident) and am overclocking at 768 mhz. I want to apply the new update, VZB, and then put velocity and the jit kernel back. So my thoughts are that I would have to...
1.) Backup rom/Apps/Data (Titanium Backup/ROM Manager)
2.) Go into Recovery (Clockworkmod) and make a nendroid backup.
3.) Wipe Dalvik, data, and cache.
4.) Install vzb via Drellisdee's rooted update (After i check md5)
5.) Then Apply Velocity 0.2
6.) Apply the kernel
7.) Restore data from titanium backup...
Is this what I would do? What about the ally's unofficial "V9" update that has to be installed manually... Is that worth it or should I just do VZB?
Also, do I need to go to a stock rom proior to the update?
I'm trying to figure out how to get Velocity on my LG Ally, and I was wondering if anyone could help me out. Could someone post a link for instructions?

Can I put velocity on with the kernel I have now or do I have to change it to one from the velocity post? and if I do have to change it, do I change it before or after changing the rom to velocity?

Everything works quite awesome, but I'm not getting my notification sound when I get a text message. I do get it for other notification events, and I've tried a couple different sounds just for good measure. Is this a ROM issue? An issue with my phone? Anyone else experiencing it? Right now I'm using the default messaging app.

View 16 Replies View RelatedI have a copy of the Google Genie APK that has transparancy and was previously using it. Velocity 0.3 has the Genie widget (was it in 0.2 as well...don't recall) and I've tried removing it via a script in the terminal emulator. Removed fine, but I cannot install the APK I have for some reason. Simply comes up with the error "Application not installed". When I do attempt to install the APK, a message comes up saying that "The application you are installing will replace another application". I know that the file versions are different as well. Love the transparent widget.

Error: The markup declarations contained or pointed to by the document type declaration must be well-formed. I have downloaded the latest versions of the Android SDK and AVD manager (revision 5), Eclipse IDE for Java EE developers (version 1.2.2), and the ADT (0.9.6). I have checked the Force https box in the settings tab, I also have both an http and https version of the same url. I re-downloaded all components multiple times. View 2 Replies View RelatedNo matter what I do, how slow or fast I hit enter for the adb push payload-update.zip /sdcard/update/zip my phone gives me the signature verification falied installation aborted message.I don't understand how some of you are saying that you can hit it "too fast" - it gives me this message in well under a second after I hit the power button to apply the sdcard.update.zip.Any ideas? I don't want to reboot my phone out of fear that I can't get back into recovery mode!

I tried to upload this rom [URL] .... the first one because I can't get the others. When I boot it in recovery and try to install it it says:
Android system recovery <3e>
1. reboot system now
2. apply update from sdcard
3.wipe data/factory rest
4.wipe cache partion
When I pick the one to update it gets to: E signature verification failed
1. I've been reading posts for an hour now and can't find a direct answer. Or maybe there is one and I'm missing it due to my lack of rooting knowledge. I am using velocity .2 and clockwork mod recovery. I am getting a system update notification, Update now/Later, etc. What do I do? I am reading some of the posts and some seem like they pertain to it. Since Im rooter and on velocity.
2. Can I update? Do I have to go to the stock LG rom in rom manager and apply that first?

I'm trying to install the Android SDK using AVD Manager. When it try to verificate the XML of the repository appears the following error: XML verification failed for http://dl-sl.google.com/android/repository/repository.xml. Error: cvc-elt.1: Cannot find the declaration of element 'HTML'.I have the last ADV version (r7) and the last ADT plugin for Eclipse (0.99), downloaded today.
Got my droid rooted, installed rom manager, d/l a rom to the sd card- lfy. I booted in recovery from rom manager, and all I get is the screen with the triangle and exclamation point. Camera button + vol up gets me a menu, one of which is about the sd card, with the file name "update zip" (I re named the lfy file to this). When its selected, it runs through some lines of script, then says something like "aborted, signature verification failed" I then have it re boot, and my phone is the same as it was before.I have read posts that say wipe, others say don't wipe! Since in a first timer, I decided to wipe, and if I'm remembering right, when you select wipe, there are three options, I did the first, the factory reset one, but did not do the other two, can't remember what they were called exactly, but had not read anything that specifically said to wipe them, so for fear of really messing something up, I left those alone.In reading more, it sounds like clockwork mod recovery is not working? I guess I'm getting the stock recovery screen? Since I renamed the file update.zip, shouldn't this work? I know this has all probably been answered, and I searched, but came up with a bunch of threads on other phone species too. Obviously I'm a noob at this, and there have been more sweaty palms and adrenaline rushes for fear of killing my droid than I have experienced in a long time! Does someone have a solution to this that even I can understand?
