I have a Blue Parrot B250-XT bluetooth headset,.. it connects to my Ally just fine, when the phone is set to auto-answer it works just fine,.. however, when I push the answer/end button while not on a call, it does nothing,.. I would expect it to activate voice dialing, as it has on other phones I've owned,.. how can I achieve this action?

Brand new to the forums and the android world, only a few days into my Droid 2 and I am loving it.When I ordered the phone from VZW I ordered a pair of WIRED headphones, and they work great so far, nothing fancy but they do the job well.There is 1-button on the headphones, that allows for me to stop/play music and answer/drop calls when I get calls, but the one thing i am trying to do is get a way for that button to start voice dialing, i used the feature all the time on my bberry and would love to know if there was a way/setting that i am just missing.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have an odd problem. When I press and hold the button on my Voyager Pro HD headset, it no longer activates voice dialing. I've tried uninstalling all voice related 3rd party apps; I've deleted the data and cleared the cache on Bluetooth Share, Voice Dialing and Voice Search.
I should add that my phone is a Vivid running 2.3.4 and HTC Sense 3.0.
I have seen threads of people having problems getting the voice dialer to work on the X10....and now that I have bought a bluetooth handsfree kit the problems are even more obvious. There is a button on the handsfree unit (Jabra BT2080) that activates voice dialing but it does nothing on my phone! How do I get it to activate the voice dialing on my phone?

View 3 Replies View RelatedSo I have the Droid X but I noticed that the Droid 2 now has a themed version of Swype to fit in with the rest of the UI. I like it a lot.
My question is this. When you push the voice-to-text button does it pop up a window like earlier versions of Swype or does it do the really fast and slick thing that the multi touch keyboard does (just replace the keyboard with the audio waveform thing).
I just upgraded my dream to a magic, and I have only one complaint. On the dream, when listening to music, a quick double tap of the wired headset button would skip songs. On the magic it appears to dial the last person I spoke to! It's hard to break the habit of trying to skip songs with this button, and annoying if I have to take my phone out of the sleeve and unlock it every time. Does anyone know if there's a way to change this? I've found no preferences for the music player or the headset. I'm using the stock headset and the HTC Sense version of the music player.

View 2 Replies View RelatedOkay I'm up for ideas. Here's the background. I have four androids. a D1, a DX and two Allys. I Mod/Break/Fix all of them. I'm okay with adb shell, custom recoveries, bootloaders etc. I've brought them all from the brink of death at one time or another. One of these Allys is giving me quite the issue though. I rooted, installed clockwork mod recovery and everything was glorious for about a month. One morning I woke to find it on the charger hung on the Verizon screen. So I battery pulled, and when it booted I got the LG screen, and then just the Verizon screen, no red flash, just the logo. I rebooted into clockwork and tried to install from backup, That got to 10% and it locked up. Tried the process again with another back up, same thing. Tried various other packages, android, clockwork, Roms, even just a small kernel zip, nothing. At this point I'm suspecting the recovery broke somehow. I flashed RA-Aloha which made it easier to move files to the phone but didn't solve the problem. I then flashed the stock recovery on figuring I should just start over. Well, after that the thought occurred to me that the problem might be Read/Writing the sdcard. So, I got a new one. As it stands now i have a phone with nothing on it but stock recovery. Everything else is wiped with a clean card. I'm trying to figure out how to push all the images from a PC. Had this been one of my droids I would have just fired up RSD Lite and all better.... My question is how to push all of the images onto the phone with just the PC, ADB keeps locking me out... Any ideas?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI recently purchased a Blueant S4 bluetooth speakerphone, Im trying to use the voice dailing feature with the new 2.2 froyo release and it sucks.....really. Even not using the blueant speakerphone and just using the phone trying to speak commands directly at it in a quiet room, it dosent even work. Example I tried to call my mother today when prompted I said "Call Mom" the phone decoded that as "Call Aubrey" lol which is a imporvement from the "nothing found" errors ive been getting....is there another app to replace the stock voice dialing application that works better?

You have to have the phone in your hand, activate the voice dialing, speak your request, then manually confirm your request on the phone its self.. I thought the whole purpose of the voice dialing feature was for hands free capabilities.. The way this program currently works renders it utterly useless. I have a Cardo Q2 setup for my motorcycle helmet.. which has a bluetooth phone link setup in it.. Its basically a bluetooth headset thats integrated into the helmet. Everything works fine with the G1 phone except the voice dialing. Does anyone know of a Voice Dialing app that basically revamps the factory program so that you can use voice dialing w/ your headset? I searched and searched but couldn't find any real answer to this question.

Rather poed that neither Verizon or Motorola knew what I was talking about. According to TV News this is a problem with almost every new smart phone. I now have an interconnected problem. I am having trouble voice dialing a call. Apparently many others are as well. What is the significance of the different NAME fields in "Contacts"? Which one will the Voice Dialer look in? View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm Rubenn from London UK and recently upgraded to a Hero HTC after having used a Touch Duo HTC for around two years. I, like may others contributing to your forum, am very sad that there is no way I can use my head set and voice dial out with this phone. What a step backwards as in many other respects, this is a wonderful phone although it will take me ages to get my head around all the other possibilities it offers. Is it possible that HTC will get out a patch that can be installed at some point in the near future.

For both I am instructed to dial a *7 number and for both I get a Verizon nessage saying this feature update could not be completed. Calling Verizon of course is no help as they say they dont support third party applicatons. Why wont any of these numbers go through for me? I was using Youmail on my previous Stom with Verizon, but no it wont connect, and I just cant get Google Voice to recieve a message either. After setting up accounts with both I call my phone from a landline and leave a message and can only retrieve it by calling *86 (Verizon voice mail) from my cell phone. So its not forwarding. Any suggestions?
View 3 Replies View RelatedThis is probably pretty basic, but the only way I see that I can activate voice dial from the N1 is to touch the micophone button (top right on the home screen). The problem I'm having is the button is too small. When I'm driving, I have to concentrate too hard to find the little micophone button in the top right corner to activate voice dial. I realize I can create a shortcut with direct dial, but don't want too many buttons clogging up my home screen.
Surely there is any easier way to activate voice dial. Anyone know?
I let Google Now set itself up on my S3 about 2-3 months ago. I thought it was kinda cool but I didn't feel like messing with it too much at the time. I did, however, see the "Search, or say Google" feature. I spoke the word "Google" and sure enough it activated, and I spoke the generic, "Where is the nearest restaurant?" just to see how it worked, and several restaurants were shown. Pretty cool, but like I said, I wasn't in the mood to dig into it much deeper at that time.
Fast forward to last night. I had some time on my hands and thought I would mess with this "Google Now" thing I've been reading about more and more. I add the Google Now widget to one of my pages easily enough. Then I tap it to get it started, and I see the familiar, "Search, or say Google" and I'm ready to play. "Google", I say. Nothing. I repeat it... "Google". Still nothing. I tap the microphone, and the screen changes to the Google logo in the upper left, a flashing red microphone in the upper right, and the words "Speak now" show up in the middle of the screen. Again, I do the "Where is the nearest restaurant?", just like I did before, and I wait for its response. The text from my question shows up on screen, but the mic in the upper right is still pulsing. I wait for about 30 seconds and finally tap the mic icon, thinking that will activate the question. No... it just goes back to the previous screen. I try this several times with different questions, each getting a bit more prophanity-laced as I'm losing patience. Finally I give up.
Then I see if my wife has Google Now activated on her Note 2. She doesn't, so I grab the widget and throw it on an empty screen. I tap the widget and Google Now starts. I see the "Search, or say Google", so I sternly say, "Google". It activates, I ask for the nearest restaurants, and it shows me several in the area. Why won't it work on my S3 anymore? I check the settings for voice and see Hotword detection is checked. I compare my settings to the settings on my wife's Note 2 and they're identical.
I just got the froyo 2.2 upgrade and can't wait to use all the new features! I am trying to figure out how to use the latest addition of voice command dialing via bluetooth. I have a parrot hooked into my stereo and need some direction on how to set it up.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm a newb when it comes to Bluetooth; tonight I borrowed a Moto HS850 and tried it with two ROMs on my Eris:
- HTC/VZW stock 2.1 pre- July OTA (= leak-V3)
- Tazz Froyo CM6 2.0
Results:
No problems pairing or connecting, answering, disconnecting, or last-number redialing.
I could NOT initiate voice dialing at all on the stock 2.1 ROM, and on the CM6 Froyo ROM, the headset could initiate the voice dialer, but it appears that no voice input was being transferred to the voice dialer.
So, I guess I have two questions:
- are all the Froyo CM6 ROMs essentially the same when it comes to Bluetooth capabilities and bugs?
- ignoring cases of gross interoperability problems (can't pair/can't connect), are the results obtained highly sensitive to the brand and model of the paired BT device?
Anyone try voice dialing over bluetooth in 2.2?

I tried TopVoiceControl but she just errors out after launching it (installed the app, the Texttovoice lib restarted the device and negative). If its already in the phone, well show me the error of my ways because for the life of me I can't find it. Or if anyone has any other voice dialer app alternatives, please share, again I couldn't find one.
