I'm planning to buy Z2 but it's only 16GB and I'm worried because I heard that installing Apps on SD with Kitkat is not available anymore, is this right? Tried that with Kitkat and SD?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI want to install Cyanogenmod and root my Nexus 7 2013, but I don't know what I should do to backup.
I previously tried to root and install CM on my Motorola Atrix HD on AT&T and successfully rooted it, unlocked the bootloader, and installed Clockwork Mod. I made sure to click backup and proceeded to delete the version of Android on the device and install Cyanogenmod. Cyanogenmod did not successfully install and I wanted to restore my device back to it the backup I made. It said that it did it successfully, but the device gets stuck on the AT&T logo when booting up and doesn't go past that.
I don't want to have to go through the same trouble with my Nexus 7 not being able to restore back to a backup in case something goes wrong. I'm using the Nexus Root Toolkit on my PC and will probably use the Cyanogenmod installer for installing CM11 (if there are any drawbacks to using the installer). What should I use to backup my device and how would I restore it back to stock if something goes wrong? And if I have a bricked device, how can I flash it back to stock?
Since I updated I can't hide apps in the all apps view. How to do this?
View 1 Replies View RelatedAnyone ever had this happen? Downloaded an update after the 2.1 upgrade and I sync'd my contacts with FB. It then deleted all of my contacts.So I deleted Facebook, re-stored all my contacts and reloaded Facebook. However, now it gets as far as installing and it never stops. It just stays on Installing.However, the FB app works fine on the phone itself.Is this a Market glitch? Is there anyway I can purge it from out of my downloads section?

The reason I ask is because QuickPic loads the thumbnails of my photos and when I clear the cache it takes forever to load all the thumbnails for my photos and then drains my battery while doing so.

I clicked yes and now cannot access the app. I see it under settings/app/downloaded/ or all, but can't launch it. How do access it after its hidden? I have read threads on this subject but it seems like it does not apply to my phone seeing how I do not have a menu key to click once in the apps drawer.

Before I updated my Galaxy S4 I had the option to hide apps. I hided a lot of apps that I didn't used like for example: internet, story album, TripAdvisor, S Planner etc.
Now I want to see my apps. I couldn't find them. I did some research and they told me to do this: apps, menu, uninstall/disable apps. It worked for me for some apps but not for all of them. I couldn't get for example S Planner, Internet etc. back. How can I get ALL of my (hidden) apps back?
I've created a folder inside the All Apps page and can't delete it now...
The option to hide programs is gone in kitkat...
I have a Samsung Galaxy S4 running 4.4.2 KitKat. I tried to set the default image, video and documents directories to a folder on the SD card by going to MyFiles -> Settings -> SDCard path. I am taking photos & videos using the default app, not a 3rd party app. Although it is showing me the default is set to the SD card, the images I take using the default camera app all seem to save to the default internal storage /storage/emulated/0/DCIM/Camera.

I recently swapped my iPhone 3GS for a Moto G and immediately upgraded it to KitKat. Since then I've been facing a variety of problems. Firstly, my camera would intermittently stop working and give the 'Camera Error' message. This was subsequently fixed by Moto when they released an update.
But another problem has been everpresent right from the start. Over my home WiFi, a number of apps requiring Google Sign in fail to work! These are :
1. Play Store
2. Facebook
3. YouTube
4. Google Search (Bing search works just fine!)
These work just fine when i switch off my WiFi and turn to 3G.
I have done a lot of research and tried a number of supposed fixes that worked for other people. They include :
1. Checking the Date & Time on my device
2. Switching to Airplane mode and back
3. Deleting my Google Account & Signing in again
4. Clearing cache, force stop etc
None of these seem to work. But at times, all of a sudden they start working. But it's completely random cause if I try the next day or something, they revert back to their non-functional state.
My WiFi at home runs on Google DNS servers. I can access these websites through my laptop.
Are there any apps that take advantage of the new immerse mode? I just flashed the factory images on my nexus 4 but none of my apps have support for it.

I would like to know how can I arrange my apps in custom order in the app drawer, just so the more frequently used apps are on the first page. Also, is there any way to create folders in the app drawer? I really like the look of the kitkat launcher, so I am not sure if I want to go with a different launcher at this point. Whenever I use another app than my default app to send SMS, eg. I'm using SMSPopup, Glowfly or event another "real" SMS app along with my default one (let's say hangouts or Handcent), I have duplicate sent SMS, that means I have twice my sent messages in my list. I didn't have this issue on JB.
I tried to tweak access/read/write permissions via AppOps but the result is still the same. I now have to use the same app for popups/Notifications and SMS. Other SMS apps are useless because they duplicate the text messages.
I'm having trouble with my facebook app the stock facebook app that came installed on my EVO. ever since i updated to froyo anytime i want to refresh my news feed it says "an error had occurred while fetching data [null]" I dont know what the problem is and i want to un-install the app and then re-install it like i said its the stock facebook app so i dont know how to un-install and re install stock apps.anybody?

Am I missing something?Nevermind I figured it out, apps are indeed installing to SD, the reason why internal storage is decreasing is because of cache and other system data.
