KitKat 4.4 :: Exchange Server - Missing And Duplicated Calendar Events
Jan 15, 2014I just got a Motorola Moto X with Android 4.4. I set up my work's Exchange Server account on my phone and it syncs email correctly. However, most calendar events are missing. The calendar events that do appear on my phone begin to duplicate every time the phone syncs to the server. These duplicates do not appear when I access my calendar online or on my laptop.
The only trend I see is that any event added after I got my new phone will sync and then duplicate. Older events either do not sync at all, or do sync but then don't duplicate.
Touchdown does work correctly, but I also use Google Calendar so I need all my events to be access by the Android's native calendar application, so Touchdown is not the solution for me.
I have already done the following with no success:
1. Deleted and re-created the Exchange account on my phone.
2. Logged into the web interface for my work's owa server and deleted extra devices/phones configured to sync to the server (based on this thread: Duplicate email/calendar/contacts for Exchange ... | T-Mobile Support)
3. I have already cleared data and caches in my calendar apps, then re-synced.
It's a massive bummer for a scheduling bug like me not to have access to a reliable calendar.
HTC EVO 4G :: No Notification For Calendar Events
Jun 10, 2010So I got my first calendar alert today (for a meeting reminder from exchange). I heard an alert with a vibrate I never heard before. There was no notification what the alert was or anything. Only reason I knew it was that event is because it popped up in Outlook on my PC as well. Anyone else not getting notifications for calendar events?

Sep 29, 2010I have a hosting account at godaddy ruinning Linux. Is has MySQL. I am creating a J2ME application that runs on android and I was wondering if there is any simpler way to connect from j2me application to my MySQL server?
Is it required to install anything at my server? which I cannot do because of the shared account. Any way to just open the connection, update some data in the MySQL from j2me application?
Android :: Appbrain 500 - Error Server Error The Server Encountered An Error And Could Not Complete Your Request
May 5, 2010Using appbrain on my PC seems to work fine when I'm not logged in. When I do log in and try to click on an app I get this error message:
"Error: Server Error The server encountered an error and could not complete your request. If the problem persists, please report your problem and mention this error message and the query that caused it."
Anyone else have this issue when using Appbrain on their pc?
Well, It looks like I solved the problem. I just deleted my account and created it again and it's fixed (for now).

Sep 14, 2010So when I get texts, gmail, completed app downloads, etc I get notification icons at the top as usual. When I slide the notification bar down to reveal the nofications and click on an item, the notification screen doesn't hide back to the top of my phone -- it just stays open. I either have to hide it manually or I have to hit the back button, which sometimes exits the app I was trying to open. 2.1 never did this for me, it always hid when choosing an item. Anyone have a solution to this? I've done a factory reset after 2.2 btw. I've also searched support to see if there was a similar problem, no similar threads.

Jun 4, 2010Is there any way to detect whether the Notification Windows is being shown? I have a service that updates an ongoing notification, complete with a progress bar and text? Is there a way to know if the notifiication screen is actually being shown, so I can adjust how often I wouldn't be so concerned if not for the fact that the HTC Incredible will reboot after it receives several hundred or so updates. Based on a controlled experiment with a beta tester, the service could continue for 24 hours if it did not update progress, but dies after several hundred updates. So I am desperate to reduce the notifications, if that's what works, and one of the ways I could do that is by not updating as much or at all if that screen isn't being shown.

Use case: Yahoo Weather app, the persistent notification in the pulldown is beautiful. I want it to always be there. However, the little temperature notification icon is pretty ugly, and I want to hide/disable it.
Using JB's "disable notifications" won't work since it will disable the entire notification, not just the icon.

Jun 30, 2010I've factory reset my phone 3 times today for data problems and push email issues. Since the last time, I have a voicemail icon in my notification bar, clicking on it tells me to call my GV number to hear 3 messages. I cleared the messages in the GV app,but the notification wont go away. It has no Clear button to dismiss. I've rebooted the phone, tried calling the number, but have not yet tried throwing it against the wall. That's next. Sep 6, 2010On my HTC Incredible, since day 1 and after the updates (including Froyo) I am not able to see the names of events on my calendar in any of the calendar views except the "Today" view.All I see is the rectangle graphics depicting some event is taking place but inside the rectangle the event name is not displayed forcing me to open every event to what it is from the Calendar application.Therefore,I have to resort to using the Agenda widget to scroll through event names by date to get a quick overview. I haven't gotten my hands on someone else's Incredible to verify if this is just the way it is on this phone, but I would venture to guess not.I've used and seen plenty of Blackberry's and used to looking at weekly calendar views and all of the event names and their times/duration laid out graphically (with the event names in the rectangles).

Generally the same times and locations, so it would be cool if I could just copy an event to a new date and use all the stuff I already entered. Or make changes to any detail if I need to. This would also be useful for irregular meetings of any type. It is NOT a recurring event.

Aug 17, 2010I had a rooted 2.1, and just updated to a rooted 2.2 stock rom and now it seems I can create calendar events fine, but when I go to the event to try and edit it, it only says "Add reminder, Delete event, Share vCalendar, and Agenda" as the options.

There is field "duration" in the events table in the database which gives us an encoded format string like "P300S" for repititive events. We are unable to decode as to what this string will mean.
