my touch screen doesn't work or work sometimes on the different place where i touch.I remove the protection from the screen and make a reset to the fabric settings but problem is still here.Early i can make a calibration but now i can't do this.Problem is worest every next hour.Now is a problem also to unlock the phone,i do this once in ten or more times.

I was in the pool when I dropped my phone in it. It was only submerged for about 2 seconds. I was at a friends and they didn't have white rice so i had to put it in brown rice-- all day. Then today I put the battery in it and it acting the same, everything works but when I touch the screen it doesn't do anything. It has now been in a air tight sealed bag full of white rice for about 3 hours... It still doesn't work.. I have college tomorrow and I need my phone...
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have noticed that after the last update, my touch screen doesn't work for a few seconds on random occasions and then works again after about 3 or 4 seconds. when I'm reading a book and they're about to reveal the mystery or enthusiastically playing a game and it stops working, I get increasingly frustrated that I can't turn the page or that I lost the game because during the last few seconds my touchscreen decided to temporarily stop working.. I just want to make sure there's not something wrong internally.

The Sensor List application does not display any coordinates for any of the sensors, just like they don't work. As I've read, I think the accelerometer driver is akmd, and if I run a ps, it's not running. More than that, I can't even find it in system/bin... There are also no akmd* files in data/misc. I am using Cupcake 1.67 (tried 1.65 too and it doesn't work either).Any tutorial on how to gain root access? Maybe that will help (though I did have root access before reflashing and tried the old rm /data/misc/akmd* stuff, but that didn't help).
View 2 Replies View RelatedBasically on Saturday it was raining hard where I live and I was out and about with my tattoo in my pocket. I used it a few times whilst out but made sure it didn't get too wet although I personally got drenched and the phone was in my wet trouser pocket! That evening the touch screen stopped responding completely, nothing would happen when I touched the screen at all! The directional buttons like home and menu worked however. I then took the battery out and put it back in, but still no luck, the touch screen was dead. Resigned to having to send it back to HTC, I left it switched off over night. The next morning I switched it on again and it started to work fine again!! No problems, so I thought the problem had passed.
But then a bit later in the day the same thing happened again, touch screen not responding but this time as well although I wasn't touching the screen the tattoo was pressing the touch screen button in the bottom left hand corner of the screen on its own!? So that made me think that the touch screen was indeed broken! I then performed a complete factory reset last night, and yet again after that the phone was working fine again. But then again when my alarm went off this morning, the touch screen was not responding again and the tattoo was pressing that same button again on its own, on and off. So I took the battery out again, left for a few hours, just turned it back on now and the tattoo is working fine again!
I could say that these days I've made a big mistake by sitting on my phone, it was on my bed and i've managed to sit on it. The resoult was that my touch screen not worked for an hour. After that, and after a full phone reset, i've managed to bring it back to life. But now, when i'm looking at my screen i see on it a small rectangular thing with different collors and i can see some small dot's on it in a pattern. Should I go in service with the phone, or you all have the same rectangular thing.

View 3 Replies View Relatedmy newly bought Tattoo became unbootable a few days ago.It worked perfectly fine two days ago, then it started to randomly reboot itself, but after that, it became completely unbootable, as in, it was stuck at the "TATTOO" screen. The phone internals are completely untouched, no custom images, not rooted, no nothing, it's factory fresh.The battery is full too, and I didn't install anything that could possibly have corrupted the bootloader (or whatever is failing to load).I already tried to wipe the user data _TWICE_ (using HOME + BACK + POWER) with no success. I'm also perfectly able to get into HBOOT (using VOLDOWN + MENU + POWER), and connect via usb (using "FASTBOOT USB" from HBOOT). However, I can't completely wipe the cache with fastboot.exe from the android-sdk, since it doesn't allow it: "erasing 'cache'... FAILED (remote: not allow)".

When it does, it's very glitchy, and pretty useless for anything that requires a swipe (like navigating home screens). I've tried all sorts of combinations of what finger I use, angle, and pressure, but it seems like as soon as I pick up the phone and do the same thing I was doing, it works fine. Just me or no?

Most stuff is on my exsd, so I'm not too worried if I have to wipe it, but would prefer only to wipe it once everything is off. I'm rooted and have a custom stock based rom and cwm installed.
Is there any way of doing this? I have the lock pattern enabled so when I plug it in nothing shows up.
If not, then how would I wipe it?

I want to receive click events when the user selects the header or a data row (but my data rows have check boxes in them, so this part is tricky). When I use the touch screen, I get this expected behavior:
1. Tapping on any row causes a click event and a dialog appears.
2. Long-pressing on a data row causes a context menu to appear.
3. Long-pressing on the header row does *not* show the context menu.
However, when I use the arrow keys (emulator) or trackball (G1), I get this unexpected behavior:
1. Selecting any row fails to cause any click events, even though the row's appearance changes like it's being clicked.
2. Long-pressing on the header row *does* show the context menu, which I don't want.
3. Occasionally, it doesn't focus the correct row when I move up or down (e.g. it skips from the header to the last data row).
I have so far found two bugs in Galaxo 1.6.3:
a) Speaker doesn't work in call (very weak). works well in ringtones etc.
b) Scrolling contacts by letter doesn't work.
Other than that this is a leap forward, especially with the overclock options!
Both bugs, as well as others, fixed in 1.6.3.1 update!
I've read a few posts about the amazing deficiencies of Tattoo's bluetooth connections.I've got a built in car bluetooth kit - I forget the name, but it's one of the more expensive ones that comes built in with company cars.My Tattoo refuses to pair and connect.Before I give up, I wanted to know if I 'root', will this help?I say 'root', I know what it's about, but haven't looked into what is needed to do it and how easy it is and what disadvantages, if any it has....I can't do without the bluetooth usage on my car, if I can't get working, then I'll just have to sell - which I don't want to.

I recently purchased a brand new unlocked HTC Tattoo from overseas, I live in the United States and my carrier is AT&T. My question is the HTC tattoo is a quad band phone that runs off of frequencys gsm/gprs/edge: 850/900/1800/1900...which are excactly the same bands that at&t uses for there 3g network..I made sure the phone was going to be able to read those specific bands before purchasing. To my dissapointment when I inserted my sim card all my phone would recieve is At&t edge network (2g). I called At&t customer service and of course they couldnt figure out why my phone wasnt recieving the 3g signal. I then called HTC customer service and they told me that its true that my phone is a quad-band phone but apparently its the european version?
FRom what he told me is AT&T does use the bands 850/900/1800/1900 but that they are in the (UMTS) versions of the bands...can enyone explain this to me..what is the difference from (GSM) and (GSM)UMTS)..he told me that my phone will recieve 3g coverage anywheres else in the world practically but the united states...im very dissapointed at this news being that I just got my phone and it kinda renders it useless if I can't use it on the 3g network.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a count down timer that when it goes off (to zero) it checks to see if the app has focus. If not it launches a notification in the notification bar. When you click on the notification is re-opens the app. Now all of this works fine but if the screen happens to go off, the timer keeps going and the notification is available at the right time but never actually vibrates or rings until i turn the screen back on. Then it displays the notification like it was waiting in a queue or something.
How do I get it so that the notification manager will actually alert the user when the screen is turned off?
Update: If I set the timer for 2 minutes, it takes another 2-3 minutes for the notification to actually work. So it does work but it's on a huge delay! Code: So I setup the notification service when the app loses focus, and when the MyCount1 is finished is checks if the app has focus and if not it shows the notification. This all works when the screen backlight is on. Once it goes off it is unreliable.

Yesterday I was listening to Pandora and I wanted to snap a picture with my EVO, so I hit the 'Home' button and then opened the Camera app. After that the little camera icon showed in the middle of the screen for a second or two and disappeared. Next the screen was blank. I also tried the camcorder and the screen was also blank. I've done many resets/pulling the battery out and I still have no luck. Any ideas as to what is causing my camera to not work at all? The only way to exit out of the blank screen is to press the 'Home' button on the phone.

My screen just doesn't turn off no matter what the settings/display/screen timeout is set to (30 sec, 1 min...)
I test it by turning on the phone, sliding to unlock and then staring at my homescreen with a stopwatch. It can be 5-10 minutes before it turns off.
I have interrogated with spareparts and the phone does have a high percentage of "running" from bluetooth and wifi, but isn't the screen supposed to shut off even with those background processes running??
I don't have anything special installed for power management, just stock stuff.
I went to the market and found some power managers but I don't have any confidence a third party app will solve this problem.
As written in the title, the time-out screen doesn't work anymore on my 4 days old htc magic.
