View 2 RepliesWhen I drag it over to the card it goes on but then I can't find it on my phone. Do I need an app or something or a program to do it.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI used to be able to just plug the phone into the computer via USB and a drive letter would appear and I would be able to easily move files off the phone and to my computer.
Now when I plug the phone in Media Share pops up with numerous menus and sub menus. Best I've been able to figure out to do is copy one individual file at a time to some mystery folder somewhere on my network. Or using DLNA it opens up Windows Media Player on my computer which shows previews of the photos but no way to transfer the actual files.
I recently purchased a brand new unlocked HTC Tattoo from overseas, I live in the United States and my carrier is AT&T. My question is the HTC tattoo is a quad band phone that runs off of frequencys gsm/gprs/edge: 850/900/1800/1900...which are excactly the same bands that at&t uses for there 3g network..I made sure the phone was going to be able to read those specific bands before purchasing. To my dissapointment when I inserted my sim card all my phone would recieve is At&t edge network (2g). I called At&t customer service and of course they couldnt figure out why my phone wasnt recieving the 3g signal. I then called HTC customer service and they told me that its true that my phone is a quad-band phone but apparently its the european version?
FRom what he told me is AT&T does use the bands 850/900/1800/1900 but that they are in the (UMTS) versions of the bands...can enyone explain this to me..what is the difference from (GSM) and (GSM)UMTS)..he told me that my phone will recieve 3g coverage anywheres else in the world practically but the united states...im very dissapointed at this news being that I just got my phone and it kinda renders it useless if I can't use it on the 3g network.
I've just gotten a Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 to go with my S3 and now that I have more than one device floating around my house, I'm wondering if there is a better way to share files and data among them than to hook each to my computer separately and then transferring stuff around by USB. I'm looking into Kies, but in the past, I've never been able to get it to work correctly, so I'm not sure if this will work any better on this attempt. Am I on the right path, or is there something different / better than Kies that I could use to have all three devices available on the network for sharing?
I guess I should probably ask if what I want is even possible... I'd really like an always on type of networking where as long as the device is online, I can push data back and forth (ie if my tablet is at home sleeping, and there is a file I want to get from it, I can access it from my phone and vis versa). In addition to that, I'd like a similar connection to exist between my two mobile devices and my computer so I can transfer files back and forth with the computer without having to take up desk space by connecting the device with USB.
Has anyone got any nice wallpaper they can share or know of any downloads? Im specifically looking for the panoramic kind that fits accross the HTC Sense interface. Theres a couple of nice fields and landscapes on the memory card supplied but more is always better.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI did search the forums for this, but couldn't find anything helpful.Maybe I'm not using the right terminology.I have a rooted DX and I want to be able to connect to a share on my home network with Root Explorer. I can do this using the stock "Files" application by going to Shared Folders Add Server. I cannot for the life of me figure out how to do it with Root Explorer. The device I want to connect to (ReadyNAS Duo) supports CIFS and NFS, and I don't care which one of those I use if that helps.

i want to access a directory on a avd from the host, but a frequently pull of the files via adb is too slow for my purposes.

Is there a way to share file between a DI and a Windows PC over a wireless network, other than using Bluetooth?
I have just purchased an unlock code from fastgsm.com for a HTC tattoo. Although when I entered it in phone and got message that network was unlocked successfully, when i try to use phone im told 'not registered on network'

View 1 Replies View RelatedA few weeks ago I registered for that network thing, back then I was using the HTC Hero. At first it would work, then if I turned my phone work, it would say "Sim can not be registered to this Network" and when I searched for other Networks, only Orange would appear.
When I got the Desire, I can never seem to get this to work still. Orange has terrible signal in my area although there site says its amazing. I never have network in my own home. and Im not sure I have ever saw full bars on my Desire.
So my question is, does yours work 24/7 if you have it. Does anyone else get the sim not registered thing after a reboot and how can I actually set it up properly cause I may be doing it wrong. p.s I have roaming n etc on
I have connected my HTC Desire to a samba share where I have my music, movies, etc, but I cannot make Desire play any of the mp3, movies, and I cannot see any photos either? I am using Astro File Manager.
I get no kind of error messages just a black screen with a little icon (which I don't remember right now.) Anyone got an idea of what could be wrong?
Just got my Droid 2.
Trying to access shared folders on my home network (3 computers running XP) via the Media Share.
Set up the files for sharing on the computers.
On my Droid clicked on "Media Share" -> "Start" -> "Computer" -> "Copy" -> "Windows File Sharing" -> "Next" -> Shared 3 folders on my computer. -> "Next" -> Verified my home network was availabe, clicked "Next" -> clicked "Next" -> "Shared Folders" -> "Add Server" -> "Scan for Servers" ->
At this point it finds the IP address of the laptop Im working on. using DHCP. But when I click on it, it keeps asking for a user name and password. dont have one for XP and no password on the files.
my newly bought Tattoo became unbootable a few days ago.It worked perfectly fine two days ago, then it started to randomly reboot itself, but after that, it became completely unbootable, as in, it was stuck at the "TATTOO" screen. The phone internals are completely untouched, no custom images, not rooted, no nothing, it's factory fresh. The battery is full too, and I didn't install anything that could possibly have corrupted the bootloader (or whatever is failing to load).I already tried to wipe the user data _TWICE_ (using HOME + BACK + POWER) with no success. I'm also perfectly able to get into HBOOT (using VOLDOWN + MENU + POWER), and connect via usb (using "FASTBOOT USB" from HBOOT). However, I can't completely wipe the cache with fastboot.exe from the android-sdk, since it doesn't allow it: "erasing 'cache'... FAILED (remote: not allow)".

View 1 Replies View RelatedOkay, here's the deal. I have a stable WiFi network, an Android phone (HTC Tattoo), and a computer. What I don't have is a way to get said computer to connect to the WiFi network, seeing that I don't have a wireless card.
The question I want to get an answer to is simply this: Is there any possibility to use my android phone as a wireless card, thus get my computer online? Or do I have to go out to get a wireless card? I don't want to use 3G, seeing that it's slow, and the WiFi net is included in my rent.
My phone is Galaxy S2 Skyrocket on AT&T, not rooted or anything.
Google Search says "Unusual traffic from your computer network" and WON'T SEARCH. This happens even if I try type in the search or use voice command.
Here we go: Go to Home screen, get into "Settings", then "Applications", then "Manage Applications"In my list, I selected Gmail, then "Clear Data" (when this option is available) and "Uninstall updates" (may be only "Uninstall")I did the same thing for the following apps:Google Play BooksGoogle Play servicesGoogle Play StoreGoogle Search
Then I powered off the phone, waited 10 seconds and restarted. I let it reboot completely and then the 'update' notifications appeared on the Home screen. I updated each app carefully, and let it settle, then updated the next, until all were updated. Google 'Search' now works perfectly!!
I am just wondering if anyone would like to share pics of how you have you 7 screens setup.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI just found out something today: my reception is exceptionally poor with the Tattoo. I have poor reception anyway But I found out that if I stand near a wall in my office an tile my head at 55 degrees, then I get 'ok' reception (exaggerating) But this is with other phones. The Tattoo doesn't want to know And I have to move to somewhere where there is a much stronger reception
View 6 Replies View RelatedI am thinking of getting one of these for my girlfriends Xmas but would be getting it on a tariff without a data plan, relying on wi-fi for any data requirements. We were in the orange shop briefly - so i could sneakily test the water as to which phones she likes - She likes the look of the Tattoo and loves the idea of custom cases (her idea of a good phone is very superficial) but hasn't used a smartphone for any longer than 10 minutes. She doesn't like WinMo because it is very straight-laced and business orientated. I played with a hero in the orange shop and found it a pleasure to use but i have been using smartphones for a few years now. I have a couple of questions :
Will the Tattoo be usable/of any use without a data plan? What will work? what doesn't?
How easy is Android to use for a complete beginner to smartphones? She currently has a Samsung D600 (which she loves). Is she going to struggle to use basic functions?
I bought this phone recently and it is on the way, coming to my hands hehehe
I really would appreciate to use SlideIt, ShapeWriter or Swype to type messages and everything. Dispite the QVGA, has anybody tried to use it? Anybody got it working on Tattoo?
