Aug 11, 2009For some reason I cant see my own texts,when I send someone a text it would normally show what I have written after texting.Anyone knows how to get it back on?or what is going on.

HTC Magic :: Time Stamps On My Texts Are Not Correct?

Sep 25, 2010Using Handscent. (However, have same problem with the supplied "Message" app). I get the texts fine....but he photos attached won't download. I get a notification that the "Message was not downloaded"...under that it says: "Generic Network Failure". I've seen a number of posts on various forums about this...but can't find a fix. Predictably, Sprint's suggestion is to do a hard reset. (They act as if that's no big deal...seems to me that it will take a long time to get my device put back together the way it is). BTW: Have tried to access texts via 3g rather than Wi-Fi, etc. Lately, it has been one thing after the other with the EVO.

May 19, 2010I installed the Quick Settings App a while back because my brother said it was a good app. I didn't really use it so I uninstalled it. But now I can't send picture texts (MMS). He can't either. I found a thread which talks about a fix but the fix doesn't work. I started this thread because the title of that thread isn't very clear and it keeps getting buried. how to fix this without doing a hard reset? I would really like to avoid a hard reset.

Aug 15, 2010Even after numerous factory resets, through both the Volume Down+Send+End and Settings>Privacy>Factory Reset methods, my Eris has been unable to send or receive texts, and will not allow me to send or receive calls. When I try to text, I get an SMS error with Cause Code: 34 and Error Class: 3. When I try to call, I get an automated error saying that my phone can't be authenticated at this time, and am advised to call #8899. Even after doing so, I get the same authentication error. Wi-Fi seems to work correctly, and my Google and Facebook accounts all sync pretty much perfectly. Is anyone else having any kind of problem like this? And, either way, does anyone know of any possible alternatives that may fix the problem besides a total replacement of the phone?

Jun 23, 2010I got a Milestone at about Christmas time and have loved it, but now I have one slight issue with it. I can't send a text message, and whenever I attempt to send a message, it simply comes back saying "Message Not Sent". It is highly frustrating.I have been into the Phone Information, under Testing, and it says that my GSM Disconnects is inactive, and the fail is because No Error. Oct 28, 2009I've been unable to call or SMS with my HTC Magic for over 24h now. I've restarted it three times, I've went in and out of flight mode a couple of times and I've selected my provider in the list both manually and through automatic.Still nothing. I've tried my SIM card in another phone and there I can call so the card in itself works fine. What really freaks me out is that I'm still able to connect to the internet through my provider. Incoming calls and SMS works fine too. It's reporting full connectivity at my current location and I've tried in several location (several kilomters apart). Does anyone have any idea what could be wrong? I've had problems when leaving airplane mode that it wouldn't register on the network but then nothing worked.

Jul 30, 2009I've got a problem with my HTC Magic when browsing to hotmail.com. For some reason it won't open my hotmail inbox via the browser. I'd rather use my browser when reading my mail than installing it on the device.

I want to synchronize my Google phone with outlook only with the USB cable.
In this question I'm not connected to Internet so i can't be connected to a gmail account.
For example with Iphone/Itunes it is possible

That info is verbatim off my phone. Seems odd at points but i really triple checked.
My problem is that i cannot sync my device with Outlook. It starts the sync the first time i install everything, including HTC Sync and the HTC xp driver, but times out about halfway through the process, leaving me with names in the contacts but none of the actual info on the phone. Just empty contact names.
HTC and Rogers are unable to help me. I have used Windows mob. for the last 5 years and have never had a problem on any of my several home built and store bought computers. This is a first! So i have this phone i paid a bunch of cash for and its primary purpose (to me at least) being a portable outlook, is effed.
Anyone at all have this trouble? The last tech support guy i spoke with at Rogers admitted to me, probably shouldn't have, that he can't get his phone to sync either and he gave up and went back to iphone.
I made this thread here because try as i might i didn't find a dream specific thread or forum, and for some reason the search function gives me a 40 error.maybe newbs can't search.
HTC Magic :: "Unable To Start WiFi"
Feb 2, 2010I bought a used unlocked Vodafone HTC Magic off of ebay, and got it setup with my Local GSM just fine. I can make calls, and receive texts no problem. Since I dont want a Data plan, I plan on relying on wifi for gmail services and whatnot. My problem is this. I cant get on wifi. When I go to settings>wireless controls> Wifi at the top says "Unable to start Wi-Fi" And no matter how many times I click it, it just wont start. When I go into Wi-Fi settings, "Add Wi-Fi network" is grayed out, and I cant add one. When I press the menu button while in that menu and select "Scan" It doesnt do anything, just goes away. Any ideas guys? I really want to get this phone working to its full potential.

Aug 13, 2009Unless it is just my settings, when I text I can send a text and receive a quick reply and can reply back and forth. However, if I back out of messaging (go to main screen to any other app) the reply that I receive has lost the area code prefix and my replies will not be delivered. All my contacts have been entered with the 10 digit number but like I said, if I leave the messaging session after my first send, the contact number is truncated to 7 digits.

HTC Magic : Putting Openhome Themes On An HTC MAGIC Rogers
Aug 18, 2009Sadly, the Android Market in Canada does not have any paid apps. I was just wondering is there any way I can put themes onto my phone? I find that it really sucks that I can't use any of the dxtop themes or openhome themes in the market unless I actually have the app itself (which I cannot purchase).

Dec 5, 2009new to this site as never had any problems with my magic till today, my 2 year old to my horror threw it against the wall and the battery etc fell out, Fortunatly when i examined it there was no damage screen wasnt cracked or damaged or anything, however since ive turned it back on theres safe mode in transparetn writing at the bottom left of the screen and the touch screen doesnt work and every time i go into a process such as say contacts , i get the 'the process android.process.acore has stopped please try again everything works like i say i can go online but obviously without the use of the touch screen i cant type, nor can i send texts due to the lack of touchscreen so what can i do HELP PLEASE Or do i have to face facts and get in touch with my insurance ?

Do you honestly like it better? I don't care if it doesn't blow the iPhone out of the water I just want somethin onpar with the iPhone. Just better will I be satisfied with the magic if I make the switch to android or should I wait for a G4 or something? I can't get the hero cause non currently or ever will support my art carrier.
