not sure if this is general Android, HTC or HTC Legend related (mods please move as you see fit).Sometimes when I open the stock internet browser I get a white screen for a few seconds and then closes again (no force close message).This also (sometimes) happens if I launch an internet shortcut.Does anyone have any idea what could be causing this?

I got my girlfriend the HTC Desire, and myself the HTC Legend.I love the phones, but when i use the internet my phone goes to a crappy "mobile" version of a website, while if i type the same URL into my girlfriend's Desire it loads the full page.I have looked at the recommended threads and the only relevant one doesn't have a solution, it only said to download the Dolphin browser, which i did, and i like but the problem is not resolved.I got this new phone because my old Nokia N96 (N-Ninety-Sux) had crappy internet too.

Everytime I go to Menu-Settings-Personalize- either Scenes, Home wallpaper or Lock screen Wallpaper I get a Force Close. My Sotware information is:

I've had an issue w/ my Internet browser closing on me for quite a while. It just closes down to where ever I was before the Internet was launched, w/o a "force close" message box. This has happened across many diff ROMs, many diff browsers, and many diff kernels. Hell, it's been happening since at least 2.1 and perhaps 2.0.1. I've tried clearing caches, wifi, lowering the kernel MHz, yet the issues still persist. Sometimes it happens instantaneously upon opening, sometimes it waits till I'm enjoying surfing away from my pc.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI just bought a Legend and am loving it for the most part. But I have one big problem - apps are not accessing the internet when not on WiFi. I have Vodafone, and the EDGE connection (we don't have 3G in India yet) works in the Internet browser, but none of the apps (twitter, facebook, nytimes, kayak) work on EDGE. Is there something I need to change in permissions or settings? All these apps have full internet access in their permissions, so I don't get why they are not working.

It's now version 1.32.161.4 and the root guide at 24/May r4 - HTC Legend rooting guide - Now with 1.31.x - Android @ MoDaCo says 1.31 and below is there any way to downgrade the Legend to what it was before? I think it was 1.21 or 1.23 not sure.

I have a Wi-Fi router D-Link Dir-615. My HTC Legend recognize the router but after enterring the key to unlock the connection, it fails to connect. 2 PC are connected and the HTC touch of my wife too, and all three work fine.

I am pleased with the Legend, but at times things come up that confuse me somewhat. Recently a friend and I were taking photos and I thought it would be interesting to compare camera quality of her BB Curve 8900 with my HTC Legend. Below are the photos.

Is it just me or is something wrong here? (Forgive me naivety!) Also, could it be that I need to fine tune some settings or something? I hope somehow I can improve these shots.. the Legend's assumed superior camera was one of its main attractive characteristics for me!

I wanted to pair it with my new Legend, but for some reason when I press Scan for devices in the Bluetooth setup, my PC shows up, my neighbor's Nokia shows up, but the headset never appears. I thought that Bluetooth devices were pretty universal; shouldn't my Legend see this headset and pair with it without problem?

View 5 Replies View RelatedOn every phone i have had for many years now, pushing any of the buttons whilst the phone's screen is off activates the screen briefly (usually just showing the clock or prompting for the screen unlock). This is both useful for ensuring the phone is switched on but is just as useful for ensuring the phone is switched off (night, meetings, flights, cinema etc).
The only way of activating the screen to check the Legend's on/off status appears to be to push the power button. However, if the phone is off, this simply switches the phone on! This strikes me as being a completely daft design decision.
So, is there any way of checking that a Legend is off without switching it on and then off again?
(Yes, i know there are silent, flight safe, meeting and other modes...)
I'm running into a bit of a problem that should be easy to fix but of course, it isn't. I have an Android Based Head unit AN-21 U, that I have connected to my car's OBD 2 port via USB (Obdlink SX). Every time I open the program to access the OBD adapter (Torque Pro, Dashcommand, or Touchscan) Android pops up a prompt asking permission to use the USB device. I check the default checkbox and it is not remembered, the next time I boot I have to answer the prompt again.

I don't expect anyone to solve it immediately, but I'd appreciate any thoughts on how to start debugging!So, my app lets users edit an item (in the EditPage activity). When they press the Back key, the desired behaviour is that it saves their edits and returns them to the home page (the HomeList activity). The code for this is below. It works fine. Except.The bug is this. Some users report that sometimes when they reopen the application after a pause, they are seeing *not* the home page, where they left the application - but the previous edit activity. Crucially, they are also seeing the edit activity without their saved edits - effectively losing their most recent edits.I've been able to reproduce this myself. It only happens after the application hasn't been opened for a while. If I save something, minimize the application and reopen it straight away, it shows the HomeList activity just fine, and the edits have all been saved. But if I save something, leave it for a couple of hours and then reopen it, it shows the previous EditPage activity, without the saved edits (i.e. in the state that the EditPage activity was previously launched).
Any ideas, anyone? I had wondered whether it was due to the Back button being used to return the user to the HomeList activity - maybe Android thinks that the Back button means that the HomeList is not the most "recent" activity, instead the EditPage is. I'd like to carry on using the Back button if possible, though. And in particular, I'm puzzled why it only happens after the app has been idle for an hour or so, and not immediately? Is it something to do with Android's memory management?
When I wakeup in the morning, I like to check my calendar to see what the day has in store for me. Of course, I'm often too tired to check and sometimes will go half the day before I see what's on it.Is there an alarm clock app that, after hitting the dismiss button, will open up a program of your choosing?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI've been finding that since the update, my phone opens up text message threads that I didn't tap.This mostly happens when I am going through menus quickly because I'm in a hurry.For example, I'll have one text thread open, hit the "back" button to go back to the list of all the threads, tap the thread at the top of the screen (or anywhere really), and it opens up an entirely different thread.It's not like it's opening the one right above or below it because I didn't tap accurately most of the time it opens up a thread that was so far down that it wasn't even shown on the screen.When I'm in a hurry I've sent texts to people that I didn't mean to send them to.This is really annoying.anyone else having this problem?

I'll click on messages for example and it will open up something else I had open hours ago like gallery or my outlook email exchange. I close the incorrect program with the back key or the home key and try again and it repeatedly does it. :/ I'm starting to think I have a dodgy handset because no one else seems to be having this problem.Am I closing programs wrong in the first place? I use the home key to close them most of the time.Anyone else had this glitch?
View 1 Replies View RelatedNot sure if this is a common problem, but essentially, in the bundled 'Messages' application for the HTC Legend, the text messages are saved as a thread as standard. But today, for some bizarre reason, when I open a message thread, it opens at the oldest message, whereas before, it would open at the most recent message. I've looked around in the settings, turned my phone on and off, cleared the data, but still can't get it to revert, it's quite annoying to scroll through hundreds of messages to get to the most recent SMS.
