Anyone else having complications with the Facebook for Android app?
Whenever I go to my newsfeed, I get an error that says "An error has occurred while fetching data. [MalformedJSON]" .. and the newsfeed will show "No content"
I've tried to search the forums and also google about my problem, but I haven't found a solution yet.I am trying to link my Facebook account via HTC Sense sync, but I'm getting this message when I try to sync my facebook contacts:"Sorry! The process com.htc.bg has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again."I then tried to manually add my facebook contacts via the contact list, but my facebook friends aren't showing up.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI got my HTC Droid Incredible back in July, and it worked amazingly for the last couple of months. All my apps have been running smoothly until recently, when Facebook started giving me problems. Now I don't know if this is a server thing, facebook itself, or a glitch in my phone, but I keep getting error messages.
When I refresh my notifications I get:
Cannot retrieve notifications. Please try again later. [601/Parser error: unexpected '-' at position 64.]
And occasionally I get another error/null type message when I try to refresh my newsfeed.
I've tried to reboot my phone, reinstall facebook, let my phone die recharge it blah blah blah. So, if anyone has any suggestions, please let me know! Thanks :]
Anyone else getting an error on facebook when they check for notifications? i keep getting this long as error, and i can't connect a facebook account, but my friends and newsfeed are all updated. it's just notifications.
View 4 Replies View RelatedEvery time I try to go to something on the sense facebook app I get this error message.
"An error had occurred while fetching data. [102/Session key invalid or no longer valid]"
I deleted the sync account and added it back 3 times, and I still get the same thing.
I am trying to parse a json object using gson in Android application ,the test passed quite gracefully in emulator ,while i used the actual device ,the problems started.
I am getting the exception as follows.

I am using gson 1.4 version. The code i use is:

What is "deserializing Json" means, I had seen this term on the Web. I don't know the meaning od this particular term So, it would be great if anybody can explain me about What it means actually?
View 1 Replies View RelatedThe app I am working on needs to read a JSON file that may be anywhere from 1.5 to 3 MB in size. It seems to have no problem opening the file and converting the data to a string, but when it attempts to convert the string to a JSONArray, OutOfMemoryErrors are thrown. The exceptions look something like this:
E/dalvikvm-heap( 5307): Out of memory on a 280-byte allocation.
W/dalvikvm( 5307): Exception thrown (Ljava/lang/OutOfMemoryError;
) while throwing internal exception (Ljava/lang/OutOfMemoryError;)
One strange thing about this is that the crash only occurs every 2nd or 3rd time the app is run, leaving me to believe that the memory consumed by the app is not being garbage collected each time the app closes. I'm not quite sure what the best approach is for such a task.
The Facebook App from the marketplace is newer (it has an message box without needing a browser, etc.).... and when you are about to download it, it mentiones it will replace the Facebook for HTC (not the Facebook widget...the whole thing).....
View 8 Replies View RelatedSo, somehow I accidentally installed the Facebook app in the Android market, which overwrote my Facebook HTC app that came built in. Did I screw anything up? AppBrain told me to upgrade it (HTC version), and upgraded to market version. Is there a difference? Should I care? Is there a way to undo what I have done? Seems like AppBrain has a bug in there, so be warned! Or it is just me being clueless, I suppose.

My Facebook app on my HTC Evo was working fine until about a week ago, when suddenly I started getting this error message:
"Cannot retrieve the notifications. Please try again later. [601/Parser Error: Unexpected "-" at position 64.]"
Any suggestions for a fix? I've tried logging out and back in, and I can't figure out how to reinstall the app (uninstall option isn't available on the app settings screen).
I updated to the new Facebook but since I did I get this error:
"Error: 604 Your statement is not indexable. The WHERE clause must contain an indexable column."
Anyone know a fix? I emailed the developer but of course, no response. Google was no help either...
Well, I seem to either A) have a problem or B) it's a problem just in general.I have Facebook installed, and there's obviously Facebook for HTC Sense. I want to sync my Facebook account and only that. I don't personally care to use the Sense inspired widgets because I like my streams separate.Anyway, I go into the Accounts menu in settings and removed the Facebook for Sense account and tried to add a new account, but whenever I click Facebook, it does absolutely nothing.I don't understand what's going on. If anyone has any clue, I'd love to hear it!

View 4 Replies View RelatedI've got an issue when trying posting on my facebook wall from an application developed on an Android phone. Here's the problem: Sometimes different "strange" error message appear like "error with HelloIdahoFalls.com" or "HelloSiouxCity.com" or "HolyPlanets Connect" and so on. I really don't know why these sites appear on my error log. Seems like my Android KeyHash is in conflict with some of this sites. The strange thing is that sometimes my application works and posts correctly on my wall.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI've been trying to add my Facebook account since I got the Evo on launch day and I continue to get the same error message. I haven't seen any threads mentioning this so I'm assuming it's just me, but I'm hoping others have experienced this and may know a fix. I go to Menu>Settings>Accounts & Sync>Add acount>Facebook for HTC Sense, I enter in my e-mail and password and receive the following message: "The service is currently unavailable. Do you want to try again?" I select Yes but it just keeps popping up and has done so for the last four days. Does anyone know a fix for this? I've tried uninstalling the app and reinstalling. I called Sprint and they suggested I reset the phone which is not something I want to do.
View 15 Replies View RelatedHaving a few problems ringing people on my phone. I get a voice saying "the number you have called has not been recognised". I looked at the number and it start 447xxxxxxxxxx I went to edit the number in phonebook and it's fine cos it starts off as 07xxxxxxxxx, i have to edit the number each time i wanna ring these person now unless they're in my previous call list! They are linked to their facebook profile but they don't store their number of facebook so why is it being converted to 447xxxxxxxxxx if it has the + before the 44 i think it would be an issue! I've never had this issue before either

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have Facebook for HTC Sense setup in my "Accounts & Sync" section. When I hit the SYNC NOW button there, it seems to sync ok.
However, when I open the PEOPLE program, and select the ONLINE DIRECTORIES and then select FACEBOOK (I assume this is the HTC Sense facebook integration), it says connection error.
Is there some setting I'm missing somewhere?
The facebook app definitely has not links to it. I used the browser to get to the site and selected full site. I get all the way into upload and the upload page says uploads disabled. Anyone know why this would be?I registered my phone number on my previous phone (same number/provider now) with facebook and have an upload email address. On my previous phone I successfully uploaded videos using this method. So I tried it on the droid. First problem I had was with the messaging app. I can't figure out how to search my contacts from the To:. If I start typing the contacts come up but it only lists phone numbers.I found that the Contacts has an menu option for Display Options. That's where the Only contacts with phones check box is.still doesn't show up in the messaging app. I even killed it hoping some kind of refresh was needed.nope.no emails. Why doesn't the message app have a contacts menu option. So I go to contacts which now has facebook email in it. I find facebook. I hit edit. I press and hold on the email text box.copy all.then restart messaging and paste the email into the to.that was quite a bit of work.at least now I have a message thread to reuse..cause that was a PITA.I then hit upload and select my video...all my videos of which the longest is 20 seconds (I've always been able to mms up-to-30 seconds on Verizon) error out saying they are two big. btw.my samsung flip phone with windoze 2 would go into a "formatting for messaging" sequence before sending it.So I take a 2 second video attach it and send it off.facebook texts back "Sorry an error occurred processing your video. Please try again in a little while."huge props to anyone who can come up with a way to upload video either 3G or wifi to facebook. I'm going to try USB mounting and upload on the computer but that defeats the whole purpose.huger props to anyone who can figure out why the main facebook site says "Video Uploads Disabled" when I surf from my phone....the conspiracy theory person thinks collusion!
