View 2 RepliesYou can send a text in landscape mode even though I have seen some post that say you can't. You can either hit the menu key or keyboard down button on the lower left key on the qwerty and you will see the send button. For all those who want to know.

View 2 Replies View RelatedIf there is app out there that lets you store text and have keyboard shortcuts setup to paste whatever is stored that is associated with that shortcut. I use a small program in Windows all the time for entering email address and password and such and hoping Android has something exactly like this.
View 2 Replies View RelatedAny keyboard shortcut to switch off the signal/connection while you have the emulator running in Eclipse?
I need to test that a certain part of the app will function if the device loses signal while the app is running. I believe you can switch the connection off prior to starting the app but I need a connection to start the app and then need it to drop after that.
Is there a keyboard shortcut for smiles? I am a heavy smiley facer and I hate to navigate through the keyboard menu to get to them.
On my Moment's QWERTY it was FN+C
Handcent has an option to map the Enter key to Smiles, but it doesn't seem to work...
I need an app that will create shortcuts to say all my bookmarks or favorite contacts. I am using Launch Pro and it doesn't allow you to use the Sense widest.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI was wondering if there was a way to get a shortcut to the page you get from dialing *#*#4636#*#*. Once I have opened it, I can quickly access it by holding home button, but I want to have a quick button to it on my home screens if possible.

The key to save a file in nano is Ctrl+O, but I cannot figure out how to send this. I searched and found that some apps use the search or menu buttons for ctrl but this didn't work for me. How can I send Ctrl in connect bot?

View 5 Replies View RelatedThis is going to sound odd, but I am trying to make a shortcut on my homescreen to email myself. This seems simple, but it looks like whenever I put a contact in my address book with ANY of my email addresses, it isn't available to be used for a shortcut. Try this and tell me that I'm not going crazy. ...but please TRY it before you post the instructions. I say this because I got my boss to try it and he thought I was being a smartass until he tried to do it. A shortcut to email to myself is really helpful for tracking things and is like a to do list for me.
View 2 Replies View RelatedIs there a way to get a direct link/shortcut to the stock alarm clock without having to click through all of the HTC Sense UI stuff (i.e. click the main clock -> click the alarm button on the bottom -> click/unclick specific alarm)? Preferably I would like a shortcut that took me directly to the alarm screen.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI wanted to setup Google Voice on my phone to use it for my voicemail app and so I could use it for free Visual Voicemail.
Unfortuantely, the shortcut to get to the GoogleVoice app doesn't appear under Programs, Widgets, or Shortcuts. The only one showing up is "Toggle Google Voice". I can open the app if I go into the Android store and click Open from there, but come on. That's ridiculous. I know it should have a shortcut, but have no idea why it's not appear on my phone. I've tried powering down/up and uninstalling/reinstalling already.
Prior to my 2.2 update from this morning (which I am slowly not liking!) I used to hit the "awake" button and then "menu" instead of sliding that bar down in order to unlock my phone. Since this update that is no longer an option.
View 4 Replies View RelatedGMail is almost unusable when composing a message - the Send and discard and Save buttons take up more room than you get space to type, resulting in just 3 or so lines of visible text. To make it worse, the typing font is massive.
Does anyone know how to...
1) Remove the stupid Send/Discard/Save buttons above the keyboard. Clicking the menu soft-key brings up those options anyway, meaning they literally are nothing but a waste of typing space
2) Change the font size, so we can see more text as we type. When reading a message, the font is much smaller and still very readable...
3) Change the keyboard to something shorter, gaining more room to see messages we composes
I got this phone to GMail with so this is pretty annoying.
Can you rename shortcuts? Have tried Any cut and it doesn't pick up all my contacts.

View 3 Replies View RelatedMy phone is the Droid X.
1. The main thing is that my texts won't send anymore when I turn my screen off or even exit out of the text message window. I have to keep my phone on and on that screen for at least 5 minutes until it finally sends. Before this, I could just text, send it, turn my screen off, and put it in my pocket and not worry about it sending. With my job and my life, I can't be doing this. I need a fix for this if possible.
2. This problem isn't as big as the other two but someone will send me one text and I will receive 2-6 times. I'll either receive all of them at once, or I will receive one text, and then 5 minutes later get it again, and then again 5 more minutes, and so on and so on. Now this can get very annoying when I am quickly texting and I keep getting texts like 15 times. I need a fix for this as well if possible.
3. One of the most annoying things about all this is my keyboard is not typing. I'll click on the "insert message here" box and start typing but the letters won't appear. The word suggestions will appear and whatnot acting like I am typing but it won't. My only temporary solution to this is exiting out and going back into the text but it doesn't seem to actually work as I am finding myself sitting there for about 10 minutes exiting and entering back into the texts over and over.
i am a youth sports coach and i need to be able to setup a direct message shortcut to my contact group. Has anyone been able to do this? i can setup indivdual short cuts but not a shortcut for a contact group. Am i doing something wrong? Also, is there a way to change the label on the direct message shortcut?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI just got the OTA Froyo update for my HTC Incredible on Verizon. Now when i go in to the People application and touch the icon next to a person's name, the menu comes up with two "phones" on it, one to make a call, and one where gtalk used to be. When i touch the second phone, it brings up a list of crazy apps to associate it with. Most of the apps to associate are not actually anything.
Has anyone esle experienced this? I'm not rooted (yet) and to be honest im growing tired of the junky HTC apps on this thing. I'd love to just have the android contacts manager because i think it'll interface better than the htc ones.
I was wondering if there is a way to change or create a shortcut to take me directly to my camera shots instead of having to choose
photos --> camera shots...? I have Bettercut and using LauncherPro.
Can I send an email without invoking any activity (with Send/SendTo action)? Just compose a mail and send to recipient from my application.

Dev = ne0fhyk from XDA.
From the XDA forum: Link to app page = [APP][ROOT/Keyboard] Keyboard Manager - Dual keyboard: Portrait/landscape switch - xda-developers
Verbage:
Keyboard Manager allows you to customize what keyboard (input method) appear on input based on your phone orientation.
It displays the keyboards you have enabled on your android device, and let you select one per orientation (landscape/portrait).
As your phone switch orientation, the app automatically switch the keyboard.
Requirements:
- Rooted android device (app was tested on Samsung captivate 2.1)
- Root Explorer app, or similar app that allows you to edit the permissions of a file.
To install:
1- Download the app (KeyboardManager.apk) on your device sdcard.
2- Using Root Explorer, move the apk file to /system/app
3- Using Root Explorer, edit the file permissions like below:
-- User: 'Read/Write' checked
--Group: 'Read' checked
--Others: 'Read' checked
4- Exit Root Explorer
The app should be visible in your launcher as 'Keyboard Manager'
Update:
- Added option to disable notification icon
-' start on boot' feature is disabled because it's not yet complete and tested... Sorry for the confusion
Bugs:
-On certain applications (i.e: Messaging on Samsung Captivate), the input window occasionally freeze on orientation switch. Exiting the app, and resuming should fix it.
The app is still in development.
For those of you that are familiar with better keyboard. I was wondering about an easy way to switch from the t9 keyboard to the regular qwerty keyboard. I was under the impression that swiping left would toggle between the 2 but all that does is bring me to the numbers and symbols keyboard. I've been changing back and forth to the android keyboard because its faster than going into the better keyboard settings.

View 2 Replies View Relatedi've had this phone since it was released and have never gotten handcent to work properly with MMS. I would get the following errors: unknown error, generic network error, unable to send. Stock messenger works fine with MMS, but doesn't work properly if I have handcent installed. Once I uninstall it, it's fine. As a last resort, I "factory restored" my phone. Handcent still doesn't work. Stock messenger occasionally needs to be force closed with "the process com.android.mms has stopped unexpectedly".................
