on my droid eris, when i press on a contact's picture, a quick contact pop-up appears with a link to their facebook profile. See here But when i do the same thing on my incredible, it doesnt show up. What can i do to make it show up?

I would like to add an quick contact option to the Quick Contact window that displays for a contact. How do I get this option to show up when the user taps on a contact? I looked at the Facebook and Twitter applications and can see that they have this:

First of all, I am not sure that the snippets above are *really* what get used to plug into the quick contacts. It's just an educated guess. I still am at a bit of a loss to figure out exactly how to plug into the quick contact window (for example, which xml/java file did Facebook/Twitter apps use to declare their intent to plug into the quick contact window, declare the icon to show etc?).
I am not specifically interested in Facebook/Twitter, its just that these apps have plugged into the new API successfully. I am just looking for an end to end example (ideally) or simply pointers to how to integrate my contacts sync info into the quick contacts menu.
I've just rooted and Villian 2.1ified my Orange Hero.Now I swear there was an easy way to link contacts to their fb profiles, but now I can only find a way to manually do it one contact at a time. With alot of contacts, this could take somewhere between three to four years.

View 4 Replies View RelatedSet up my Incredible yesterday.Everythings working well except one weird issue.It appears that it pooled ALL of the contacts exchange contacts, Facebook phone numbers/emails, and every single gmail address I've ever emailed before.When I compose a new text, and select the little person icon to find who to send it to, it brings up a list of at least 3,000 contacts.Everything from unsubscribe email addresses to craigslist to 5 different phone numbers listed for someone off Facebook.Is there anyway to prevent this or remove it? In "People" it's correct, only shows the contacts from my Exchange server and everything looks good. But going to compose a new text (or typing a new gmail email) it brings up EVERYTHING.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI set up HTC sync and Facebook and all that jazz. However, there are a few people in my Facebook Contacts list that I don't really want to have in my contacts list.
I don't dislike them to the point where I'd want to un-friend them on facebook, but I don't really want their number to be in my phone.
Does anybody know any way to delete a single facebook contact from your phone? Click and hold doesn't work, going to their "people" tab doesn't work, I can't figure it out...
I'm not sure if anyone has already figured this out but I just did it by accident a few minutes ago. If your facebook contact has changed their picture and you want to update it on your phone, go to People > Online Directory > Facebook > Click refresh. It updates everyones pictures so it may take a while if you have a lot of contacts.

Just happened a few days ago, where one of my contacts on my phone from Gmail that was linked to Facebook all of a sudden is unlinked. When I tried to relink to fix it, the contact doesn't appear on the list to link. Going into the Facebook app, the contact is listed there. Anyone run into this or have any idea how to fix? Tried a reset already, after backing up apps/messages.

I figured out how to get the picture from the phone to be the one used for the contacts, but three of them keep reverting to the facebook pictures and I can't figure out why.

I thought I had read something about this before, but now I can't put my finger on it. Is the initial synch between Gmail contacts and Facebook using e-mail addresses or contact names? In other words, if I'm using only first names for some contacts will it find their Facebook profiles or will I have to change the contact names to full names? Here are my questions.
1) Is there a way to transfer the exact status of my previous contact to my new rom? I've linked and synced all my contacts with facebook and stuffs and it looks like all those links have been disconnected. I don't want to link again manually.
2) Why does titanium not backup SMS? I've restored my titanium backup and none of my SMS got restored. Luckly I've used SMS Backup & Restore to backup, so that's not a problem, but I was wondering if I'm misssing something in titanium.
3) When I'm restoring apps with titanium, I have to keep giving permissions to install apps (clicking install button). I have around 80 apps, and I would much prefer if it's automatic without asking for my permission. Is there a way to do that?
I'll make this short and sweet. My social network widget uploaded photos for my contacts. My girlfriends contact; I would prefer to have a photo that I took as contact pic; everytime I edit the photo, it reconfigures to the facebook pic. What can I do about this? And the second thing, is anyone else completely disappointed with how difficult it is to copy and paste text from a browser page? I goto settings to select text and no magnifying feature comes up, not to mention that it immediately selects whatever is highlighted once I remove my finger from the screen.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI would like to implement the similar widget as QuickContactBadge from which I can launch some internal activities. I checked out the source code for QuickContactBadge, QuickContactActivity etc and simplified them to accommodate our requests. It can launch and display at correct position. However, I can not see the original view below the quick contact tack no matter how I try. And I found the window created by QuickContactWindow is quite small and I tried to set the background etc. Nothing works. Who can help or give some guidance about how window works? Say, from Activity A, I click on image, I launch a new activity (or window), how can I make the Window of Activity A is still visible? Or more general, what is the best way to achieve similar behavior like QuickContactBadge?

View 27 Replies View RelatedI figured I'd give everyone a heads up in regards to the Motorola Contact Quick Tasks Widget not working with Launcher Pro. You can use any of the stock Motorola widgets with Launcher Pro but they can not be re-sized. The only one that does not work is the Contact Quick Tasks, it will appear on the screen but when you try adding the type of task (text, phone) you get a message, saying that it needs to be re-sized, which you can not do with LP.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a relatively new EVO 4G, and I've noticed that for some reason trying to chat with a contact using Talk and Quick Contacts doesn't work. When I pop up the Quick Contact for a person who's online, I see a second dialer icon. When I press that, it gives me the option to use various chat methods, including Talk (and Skype). However, when I choose Talk, it asks me to "Complete action using" and gives me a huge list of things, but none of which are Talk.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI've searched for hours for this, so I apologize if it's answered elsewhere, I simply can not find a solution that works.when I start up Unrevoked for the Incredible, it says to plug my phone in. I do that, making sure it says debug mode is enabled in the drop-down pane. But the unrevoked screen doesn't change I've tried:
- mounting as disk drive
- "charge only"
- one Windows XP PC and one Windows 7 PC
- removed PdaNet and tried those options again
Nothing gets me past that screen. I tried looking for an HTC Sync app to uninstall, or setting to disable (since it says "make sure it is NOT installed"), but I wasn't able to find anything.
I have rooted with unrevoked 3 done a nandroid backup, done the unrevoked forever and sucessfully upgraded my radio to the 2.15. I downloaded sky2.5.2 and put it in the root of my sd card. when I boot into recovery and and try to install the zip from sd card it keeps saying "aborted". Is there something that I need to do before installing Skyraider? Everything is working fine on my phone, the call quality is amazing now, I just can't get up to 2.2!

View 6 Replies View RelatedAm I the only one having an issue answering an incoming call if I'm on the other line? Don't get me wrong, I LOVE my Incredible but this is quite an issue for me. It will show the call waiting, yet I cannot answer it to save my life. I have tried the mylockphone tools which is great but whether that is activated or not, I still can't grab the incoming call. Ultimately, I let the person I am speaking to go and then have to call the other person back. What am I doing wrong? I recall my Moto Droid having the same issue.
