I remember watching a commercial or seeing something about this phone where you could take a picture of lets say a math problem and then search it up on google. Is this true and is it an app that all android OS phones can use?

Is anyone else having issues with Google Navigation since the update? Every time I try to use it it keeps searching for GPS but never finds one. Why do I feel like this is some sketchy Verizon tactic to make me pay and use their VS Navigator?

View 3 Replies View RelatedSince upgrading to 2.2, I've noticed my Navigation takes MUCH longer to search for GPS. It now either never gets directions (the "Getting driving directions." pop-up box just sits there forever until I back out) and I have to turn GPS off and on then back out of Navigation and restart it OR it'll get the directions but say "Searching for GPS." for at least a couple minutes.

The default is that new pictures are all the way at the bottom, and since I have over a hundred pictures its annoying to scroll all the way to the bottom. I don't see any option to sort the pictures in any other way.
View 1 Replies View RelatedIm the developer of a fairly new app the Math Alarm Clock. A month ago I looked for alarm clock which was a challenge to turn off and didnt find any on the market so I developed this. Basically you tell it how hard you want the math (4 levels of difficulty) from (5*8) to [(17*19)- 16*12)]. It is smart enough to never give you stupid easy questions such as (73-73) or (1*10). Then choose how many in a row you must answer correctly from 1 to 6 to turn off the alarm. Specify a few math-free snoozes if you like to snooze a few times before entering math. Or turn the math off completely and use it as a regular alarm.
The other unique feature is the music alarm. Of the other alarm clocks I found one required you to change music into a ringtone and the other only allowed you to pick one song. This alarm clock allows you to choose an individual song or choose a random song from a specific artist or a random song from a specific album.
And for any Canadian Rogers Dream or Magic users you may have noticed other alarm clocks will completely crash your phone and require a factory reset. This has been fixed in the Math Alarm Clock and it should work with no problem on HTC based phones.
Lastly as the comments point out, I respond to feedback very fast and for the most part have requested features implemented within 24 hours.

I need maths for my game physics and lots of them, so I use the. Math library. And guess what? I never casted so much to floats in my entire life. And i know how costly it is to use doubles on an embedded device because I read the performance optimization page in the google android sdk docs. So I am wondering if we couldn't get a Math package with functions taking and returning floats instead of the default doubles. e.g. Math.sinf Math.cosf.

I just benchmarked (float)Math.atan2(x,y) and it's a very slow function. I checked FloatMath for Android 1.0 SDK and it has sin and cos but no tan or atan. Is there a faster way to do this?

I am trying to make an image move from one part of the screen to a position the user touches, as a constant speed. I don't know the best way to go about doing this and the way I have been trying to get to work is taxing my brain too much.
I have been using geometry to calculate slope, then using Sin * movement speed to calculate the difference in X,Y coordinates.

The problem that I'm having is the image is veering way of course when traveling in Y heavy paths. When traveling horizontally it works almost perfect.
I know there is probably an easier way though I don't know how to use a lot of things (like OpenGLES) so if your advice is to use a different method please link a tutorial for that method if you know of one.

View 2 Replies View RelatedIn the spirit of using existing, tested and stable libraries of code, I started using the Apache-Commons-Math library and its BigFraction class to perform some rational calculations for an Android app I'm writing called RationalCalc.
It works great for every task that I have thrown at it, except for one nagging problem. When dividing certain BigFraction values, I am getting incorrect results.
If I create a BigFraction with the inverse of the divisor and multiply instead, I get the same incorrect answer but perhaps that is what the library is doing internally anyway.
Does anyone know what I am doing wrong?
The division works correctly with a BigFraction of 2.5 but not 2.51, 2.49, etc...

This was indeed a bug in the apache-commons-math 2.0 libraries. The bug is fixed in v.2.1.
It is now listed in the Fixed Issues section of the bug tracker:
When multiplying two BigFraction objects with numerators larger than will fit in an java-primitive int the result of BigFraction.ZERO is incorrectly returned..attempting to reproduce the issue and setting me on the right track.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI haven't seen anything about the privacy implication for me as the recipient of the picture.I do not have a Google+ account. I have sync turned off for contacts because I think that Google has proven themselves too untrustworthy to have that information.
The only way I can see that the pictures get into my contacts is that on each incoming call the phone app takes the phone number in the incoming caller ID and queries Google to see if a picture is available. In the process, this gives Google a complete list of everyone calling me, an unacceptable privacy violation as far as I'm concerned.
Is there a way to disable it so that my incoming calls are not leaked to Google?
For some reason when I zoom into a picture with both the Droid Incredible's and xScope the picture becomes more blurry and does not re-focus.Does anyone else have this problem or know how to fix it?
View 1 Replies View Relatedjust a minor inconvenience: I used to have my phone set to sync with google, which alerted me every time I received an email. I then found out that google sync was causing an issue with my contact pictures, taking them from facebook and resizing them. it caused them to looked pixelated or "zoomed in" in hilli billy terms. So now I have it set to never sync with google. So now I never receive a notification when I receive an email. Anyone know a way I can set it to sync only to gmail and not sync the contacts? I don't really need to sync them anyway, as I have backup assistant for that purpose.

On my Hero i had different sounds set up for my text messages and my e-mails. For some reason i just can't figure out how to do it on Desire and i really hope that you can have seperate sounds. Any help would be really appreciated. <THE MAIN ISSUE>
The second thing is that to save pictures off the internet i know that you longpress and get the options. However with google images not for some reason you can't do that
The alternatives i've found are to either do the usual longpress options on either the small thumbnail in google search, but that gives a rubbish little pic =/
OR
open the image and then follow link to original page it is from, then save from there.
But both of these are a bit of a faff. So although its not a big issue i'd like to know if there is a way to save from the individual pictures if you know what i mean.
Just another thing i've thought of... because i have an orange branded Desire my music player has a rubbish link to orange music world or something by the play, and skip track buttons...

I have the google drive application on my desktop so that I store all my files both on my pc and in the cloud, but is there a way to have google drive on my phone and to automatically upload pictures I take using the phones camera but not to have all my files downloaded and synced to my phone as I don't need to have all my files in three places, is there a way of using my phone to view all of my files and possibly download them as if they were on my phone but not actually have them sitting there taking up all my space
so it would be like having the gallery I currently have and being able to view all my photos pretty much as normal but instead it is all stored online
when I say files I only mean photos and videos.
So i just upgraded to froyo. I used to have 400+ pictures on the phone, and now I have 108. Most of them are just gone. It seems they are random as the first ones I took are still there and some of the recent ones are there too. Where the hell did they go?
