When I turn the phone off to charge at the end of the day, upon restart it defaults to the htc colors wallpaper.Is there something I'm doing wrong, is there a setting I'missed to retain the "water" live wallpaper after restart, or is this just normal behavior?

My first N1 (T-Mobile purchased day one) developed a tiny dead pixel after about a week of use. I returned it to HTC and the replacement I got didnt have any but about a week after I got it, a dead pixel appeared on it. The phone was stolen so I never called HTC. I just bought an ATT N1 and again it's perfect to start. I know nothing about how electronics work but I wonder if:
-Could a specific live wallpaper cause this? I used the Grass one on both previous models.
-Could the dock cause this? When you place it in dock the screen dims and you get that floating clock. I wonder if extended stay on the dock could be the cause?
Or like I said maybe just not the best quality parts.
As stated in the title, would it be possible for someone to turn the nexus one bootup animation or even the Droid boot up animation into a live wallpaper?

I installed one from the android market but now want to delete it from my phone.
My question is since the live wallpapers is an apk and it has been ported to a few other devices, why has it not been ported to the droid eris. We know that with the OTA we won't be getting live wallpapers, so for the people that want them I say we should try to port it over to the Eris. Unfortunately I have close to no knowledge on how to port. If anyone knows how to and is willing to it would be greatly appreciated.
View 8 Replies View RelatedOk its my 1st post and Ive just bought my 1st smart phone. I'm amazed and what it can do... And I'm also a COMPLETE IDIOT as to what it can and cannot do! I have my wallpapers on the desire now no problems there... Now I want to ADD a live wallpaper or screensaver to my phone. I do things the simple way I connected my phone to my pc (not sync) waited for autoplay and opened up the sd card and added (by making new folders) my ringtones, pictures, videos and wallpapers all work perfectly... and I'm very happy! NOW I have my football team gif that I want to run on my phone in the background just like a live wallpaper... I downloaded the gif from a website that said it was a screensaver for my HTC Desire! I cant find the live wallpaper folder at all (where the built in live wallpapers are) in order to add my gif to it... I made a second folder and called it live wallpaper 1st and then screensaver and in both cases it does see the file but will only let me add the gif as a wallpaper image and not a moving image/screensaver/live wallpaper. Do I need to convert it from a gif to something else.
