What I'm looking for is an app with which I can scan my barcodes from my games and movies, or really any other consumer electronics and it makes a list so I can keep track of what I have; or even for insurance purposes, just in case. Are there any?

Just got my droid incredible tonight and when trying to use the barcode scanner app it keeps trying to focus and just as it is about to lock in on the bar code, it goes out of focus and back in focus again... and repeats over and over.I tried cleaning the glass but it is pretty darn clean. Anyone else having this issue? Any thoughts?
View 9 Replies View RelatedI've tried a number of different Barcode Scanner apps with my Evo and have run into the same problem with all of them: they keep trying to auto focus and can't seem to capture the barcode. I don't know if this is a problem with the interface between the autofocus on the EVO 8.0 Megapix. camera and the applications or if it is something to do with my lighting; I'm using it indoors with comfortable incandescent lighting, but not bright task lighting and the camera shows the image as fairly red skewed, as if it is a lower light situation.

View 2 Replies View RelatedDL 2 different scanners, barcode scanner and shopsavvy. Neither one works worth a darned. Have tried different items usually common ones i.e. a case of Mtn. Dew. It chokes and says it can't find a retailer. Seriously?! If it can't find even a simple case of pop which hundreds of retailers have, that's pathetic!! Has anyone found a real BC app that has actual products and works?
View 49 Replies View RelatedThought I was clever enough to try to root my Desire but fell at the very first hurdle and now seem to have some problems. I tried to format the sd card after backing up my apps (not everything else). Wasn't sure at first if this worked which I still have my doubts. However I did lose all my video and photos which I am not overly bothered about but have lost several important apps and now when I try to download them again from market the download just stops unacceptably and nothing happens. Can't get barcode scanner and many others despite leaving it downloading overnight.

View 16 Replies View RelatedI seem to be the only one having this problem. I got my Hero about a week ago and stumbled upon this thread, so I figured I'd try some of these apps out. Well, when I scan the barcode, three options come up, two of which are to share the URL, the other, to open the browser. Naturally, I pick the first to open the browser only to receive an error message "There are no matches in android market for the search: XXXX". What am I doing wrong? Also, I wanted to make sure my build number was correct as it suggests at the top of the thread, but I couldn't find anything like that on the HTC website.

Worked great at first, but now seemingly wont focus on the code - qr or upc - I thought maybe my camera was to blame, cause in addition pics are coming out blurry. Had a buddy of mine with his evo download "barcode scanner" and he had the same problem with the same qr code. Is it our cameras? or is it the scanner apps?

I found a thread on here for the Android Network Awards, and all of the apps have a 2-D barcode next to them. Clicking on it invokes a "market" protocol. I'm guessing that there may be some way for me to scan this barcode from my phone and install the app. Is that right? Presumably, I could also browse to the page from my phone and click on the "market://..." links, but scanning a barcode to install an app is just cool.
