View 33 RepliesI am wondering how many Bump Charges do you all do? I saw a post saying 3 times, and I did 3 times, but the fourth time, I am still not fully charged because the LED light still RED after I turn the phone off and plug the USB charger in.Another concern is that, people mentioned this is a software issue, but I am bump charging the phone while it is OFF, so wouldn't this being a software issue since I do not have the phone turned ON?

I am looking for an app which we can use like text but doesn't cost $0.20 each time. Is there an IM program which rings or alerts on the phone like an incoming text?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI always have my phone plugged in over night, and one night I noticed that the screen came on for no reason, stayed on for a few seconds, and then went off. It did it a few times off and on. I thought it was a little weird, but didn't think too much about it, until just now.
I'm sitting next to my phone, plugged in, and the screen comes on again for no reason. It had been plugged in for awhile then, and when the screen lit up, I happened to glance at the battery status bar, and noticed that it did not show that it was plugged in. Now, maybe 30 min later, the battery bar shows that it is plugged in and full.
Could my Inc be self-bump charging? My phone is so new that it came with Froyo on it already (unless the Verizon guy downloaded it when he set the phone up)
Has anyone else noticed this at all? I've always had good battery life... I can usually make it through the whole day without hitting orange (12 hours+), with plenty of texting, some youtube videos, facebook, Daily(comic)Strip, and checking email and weather, plus Angry Birds. And I've never really bump charged.
Does anyone know/have experience with avoiding int'l roaming charges? I called verizon and the rep said that I would roam anytime my phone is on, and that I would incur charges, which is NOT what I want. I don't need 3G or any other type of phone or data connection associated with the network. All I want to be able to do is use Fring/skype/googlevoice through a WiFi connection. I've been reading and am getting confused with all this 'APN' on/off stuff. Can't I just put the phone in airport mode and connect to WiFi through my DINC?
View 16 Replies View RelatedBefore Froyo, I was able to charge my phone in my car and use the GPS. Now, with Froyo, my phone charges way too slowly. Infact, my phone actually DISCHARGES while uses the Navigation when plugged in!! I have two questions:
1. Is Froyo designed to slow charge the phone?
2. If so, it makes my GPS setup defective. How do I revert back from 2.2. to 2.1?
I understand Skype is not available for Android. But does anyone know any application like Skype my gf and I can use to call each other without phone charges?
View 2 Replies View RelatedOne thing I notice about this phone is that it takes a long time to charge. It takes at least 2-3 hours for a full charge verses about an hour for the iPhone 4 or Droid X.

You have to order Evo on-line. They are sold out but i suggest you wait.As you can see for $69 including the premium data plan you get 500 minutes instead of $79 for 450 minutes. A lot of you got yours from best buy or radio shack. I suggest you get them through here since its cheaper.
I'm very new to android development. Currently I'm trying to develop an application that can display monthly calendar. Is there any way i can set this using the XML? or should i use different methods?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI don't understand this. I keep going in and saying that I want my calendar default view to be agenda. Every time I do that and I go back in, it defaults to the nearly-worthless monthly view. I'm on Eris and 2.1 Anyone got any ideas?
View 3 Replies View RelatedWhen I was using Nokia N95, my favorite calendar app was Papyrus (sbsh.net). There were category icons on the monthly view. With this, I could easily tell what I have for the whole month. The Hero's built-in calendar only shows gray triangles when there are events available. Is there any third party app I can use? The app must fulfill these two conditions:
1) Can have category icons on monthly view.
2) Can sync with Outlook.
I'm very close to buying the desire from mobiles.co.uk (110 handset) and Vodafone (600 mins, unlimited texts, 1gb internet, 24 months). I have a few questions which I would be incredibly grateful if you could help me with.
1.) - How do I put my iTunes music on to the Desire?
2.) - What is the PC Software like, and do they have or plan to have a iTunes version for Android any time soon?
3.) - Can you make folders on the Desire to put photos in?
4.) - Is 1GB enough, if I have 3G on but not using does this still eat up my allowance?
5.) - Can the Androids phones get viruses if you visit unsafe websites?
6.) - And with Vodafone does your monthly bill show the websites you have visited?
I am new to the forum. I have searched for a similar topic so apologies if this has already been tackled elsewhere. I have just purchased an unlocked HTC Desire which I should take delivery of next week. I didn't want to get tied to an 18 or 24 month contract so opted for the unlocked phone. I am interested in the 10.00 a month rolling sim card only contract with T-Mobile with Internet booster as I want the phone primarily for Internet use as I hardly make calls/texts. However, the guy said 1 gb a month wasn't enough for Android phones and that things running in the background and downloading apps is too much of a drain and uses up your quota very quickly.
Is this correct? If so, is it possible to download apps to pcs and then to the phone to save the monthly usage? I have seen posts about wifi - is is possible to download apps using Wifi to save on monthly usage?
I've looked for this and I can't find it, so I hope I'm not being stupid . All I want to do is reset the call timers and packet data sent on a monthly basis on my HTC Desire so I can tweak my monthly usage if necessary and not exceed my quota. I can't find a call usage summary anywhere on the phone; all I can find is individual times etc per recipient called.
View 2 Replies View Relatedto all those who got their X10 on contract in the UK, is your phone locked or unlocked? I heard O2 do not lock their phones while the others do.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI like Android and wanna get a device running it, but I refuse to pay any monthly fee. WiFi is fine though. So, the ipod touch, for example, is like this. but I like Android. Any help is appreciated.
View 5 Replies View Relatedjust got the Hero and I love it.My question is this,i have set my gps to off mode also mobile to off mode and wifi to on as this is where i use the internet mainly. If I set the GPS to on does that incur charges from Orange while in wifi mode or is it linked to my wifi connection.
View 7 Replies View RelatedSometimes I wake up, check my phone and the light is green, but the lockscreen says 90%. So I have to reconnect the charger, anyone know why this happens / does it happen to you?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a Droid X with Verizon. If I enable the GPS and use GPS enabled apps, such as Google Maps, etc., am I charged by Verizon for this? Or is the Verizon Navigator the only GPS app that Verizon charges for? (i.e. does Verizon charge for the use of the GPS across the board, or only for the use of their GPS app?)
View 2 Replies View RelatedI forget my original charger at home so i got a new one from at&t (didn't find t-mobile), generic one, with the same connector and the guy from the store said it will work fine with captivate (that should be the same as the Vibrant). when i tried to use it, it charged my phone but the whole interface was laggy and didn't get half of my touch pressing (the other half did something else like pressing the wrong spot).
anyway i thought its a bad charger so i get a new one from RadioShack... that do the SAME problem.
then i tried some electric shop that told me theres a difference between this chargers and i need to get the Palm Pre charger and not Motorola/BlackBerry, but still both of them did the same problem (again, all of this stores got only third-party "generic" chargers and not originals). anyway i got home and charged with the original usb wall adapter and usb cable that came in the box.
If I did not get the monthly Hotspot charge when i signed up and did use the hotspot for an emergency connection, what is Verizons rate on that? All I can find on their site is what the per MB charge after the %GB you get with the monthly hotspot plan.
Once I get more comfortable with it, I'll root and would not have this worry. But for now, I'd like to know what it would cost as a pay per use charge?
When she tries to send a picture it says "Converting message to MMS" (I told her that was normal lol) "Charges may apply."...THIS part, the "Charges may apply" part, is the part I am stuck on. I've never seen this on mine. We have the same plan I think, unlimited texting and calling and such...she is sending the picture to a Verizon phone...I mean I told her it is probably just a "btw, it COULD charge you" sorta thing and that it more than likely won't.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI looked for a while on this because I'm sure someone else already asked it but does your droid charge super slow on every single charger besides the one it came with?
No matter which charger I use (besides the stock one) it charges incredibly slow. Hooked up to my computer, other wall chargers and the slowest one is my car charger. I even have a couple wall chargers that just straight up make my phone start doing weird stuff. Like I'm randomly hitting things on the screen.
Just got my Motorola Droid about 9 hours ago, and as soon as I got home I plugged it in, since it had roughly 60% charge. It has been plugged in since then, and has said "Charging (90%)" on the lock screen ever since, and the about screen confirms that the battery is charged to 90%.
I searched all over, but it appears no one else is having this issue. Should I return to Best Buy (I hate them, but I'd rather go there than wait for a mail in rebate, or for the phone to ship) and get a replacement?
I put the phone on the charger right before I went to bed (11 PM), and by 12:30 AM when I went to settings and checked the status it said it was 100%, I decided to leave it on the charger anyway cause I have been getting really bad battery life and this morning when I woke up at 7 AM the phone was down to 70% but charging and hit 100% by 8 AM.
What I don't understand is why did the battery charge to 100% and then use the battery when it was still connected to the charger? Shouldn't it just stay at 100%?
In addition, when I took the phone off the charger at 8 AM and it was 100%, the phone died by 2 PM, and I only sent about 20 text messages.
I've downloaded an app called Google Sky Map. Will using this incur charges? I don't understand how all this works. In general, is there a way of telling what charges the use of an app will incur (ruling out the use of android-intuition and/or common sense)?
