There have been many times when I have dialed someone and I can hear them but they can't hear me. So I dial *228 and that fixes it. Great. The problem is this this happens once a week or so. Is this normal? Could it be an app I installed?

I was editing one of my contacts and finally found speed dial settings. However, when I went to another contact I couldn't find the option again. Anyone know how to set speed dials? I know it has th voice dialer but I'd rather just tap a number.
View 1 Replies View RelatedOne thing conspicuously missing so far is a good voice dialer. The one that comes with the phone isn't great at recognizing and it has the annoying confirm message "do you want to call BLAH" just like phones had in the 90's. As far as I can tell the voice dialer doesn't have an option to stop confirming. The voice search and VTT feature has excellent accuracy so why can't I say "call sarah" on the voice search and have it call sarah much like i can say "navigate to" and it will launch navigator? Anyhow, anyone find a solution to this or find an alternative app that does voice dialing well?

I think I can still receive calls, as I just got one right before I needed to dial out. Tried calling several #'s in my contacts list. Anyone have a fix or suggest? View 2 Replies View RelatedMy husband bought an Incredible the other day and he has had one problem that is potentially a deal breaker. He uses his phone in the car a lot and part of that he uses a bluetooth headset. When playing with the phone he found he could not simply press the button on his jawbone to bring up voice dial (which I mean, we could do on motorola flip phones many many years ago). Even if he puts a shortcut the the "voice dial" application he needs to unlock the phone by pressing the top button, slide the unlock screen, press the app, then say his command.
If that were not enough there is no repeat back to the headset, you must manually confirm the selection. I don't know about you but to me that seems to defeat the purpose of voice dialing, which is meant to keep your hands free and eyes on the road. I have seen gesture search recommended but that would not be ideal to use while on the freeway. Are there any workarounds to make this work properly? I was wondering if on other phones the root community has developed their own solution to the problem on other phones as well, that might give him a little hope for when the incredible gets rooted.
Looking to get more of a full screen dialpad when I go to call some one instead of the half screen one. I liked the one off my BB Storm and I-phone. I searched for apps but didn't find anything.

Every time I select one of my contacts on my phone and dial out with google voice, it first display the right number but it soon will change to 602-633-4000. I don't get it. However, I am able to make a phone call with google voice on the computer, it will connect my phone and then dial the right number. How do you guys dial out from your cell phone with google voice?

View 37 Replies View RelatedI just splurged on an Epic and I am loving the phone so far but I noticed a small glitch and was wondering if anyone else is experiencing this and if there is a solution. I noticed that the dialpad sometimes has a lag when entering numbers into the dial pad. To clarify:
Yesterday I was calling my cable service provider. I was prompted by the automated customer service sytem to enter in my phone number. At this point I had the phone to my ear and and in order to enter my phone number I then proceeded to remove the phone from my ear and started punching in the numbers. The phone screen awoke from sleep and as I started to punch in the numbers I noticed that the screen did not register my touch enteries right away. In fact I had to press the screen a couple of times before the screen press was registered and the correct selection was made. It only seems to occur under these circumstances: The phone screen is off due to the light sensor being covered while the phone is next to your ear. If you remove the phone from your ear and then proceed to enter numbers on the dialpad some lag does occur and the numbers do not show up immediately. In fact the screen will not even resgister the few one or two attempts at making a selection.

Further, it's mad that when typing some number (part of a full number and NOT the beginning), the contact doesn't show up. It's only searched when you type the beginning of numbers
I tried searching but I couldn't find anything. For some reason I can't dial ##778. I'd like to do the trick to make the phone ring quicker but I can't access the settings for some reason. When I dial ##778 or ##program nothing happens.

I already use easytether for internet access on the go, what i need is an app that will allow me to tether my phone and dial a specific number of my choosing. I run a termninal program on my pc that connects to a remote terminal via land line that uses typical rs-232 communications, but easytether or pdanet do not allow dialing of specific numbers. I use a LG VX8360 with the drivers (LG CDMA USB mondem driver) and this gives me the option in my terminal program on my PC to select the LG phone and as modem and the terminal then dials which ever phone number i choose.

Any one able to make and app like this? I believ essentially the phone needs to be displayed in the phone modem options under control panel to ensure that it will be available to the terminal application. The terminal app is Procomm Plus.

This didn't seem like a problem until I tried to dial a contact's number that was taken from Face book. When it dials it just plays a long beeping tone and won't connect to the contact. I can text the contact fine but not ring. Also, I can not change the number in my phone as it is from Face book. Does anyone have a way to solve this issue?

I'm trying to connect to the internet using my phone as the modem. It is possible to do using the USB cable, but I'd like to do it using Bluetooth. When i search for Bluetooth services available, Dial-Up Networking is NOT in the list. Come on HTC, I was able to do this with every phone I owned up to now.
