HTC Incredible :: Google Maps Won't Track Up / Setting To Change It?

I might have been hallucinating before, but I swear that the Google Maps app would track my location with the direction of travel always at the top of the screen - the 'track up' feature for most standalone GPS units.
Now when I track my location, it has me going left to right or right to left. Is there some setting that I changed? I recall several updates the past few days. Makes me wonder if that has anything to do with it. Thoughts?

Is there anyway to store a route or track using the google maps on the g1. I have a garmin that when on automatically stores your route and it can be saved and uploaded to the computer. It seems logical that this would be available on the g1, as it has all the capabilities already available, ie gps and maps. I can't find any mention of it or a way of doing this with existing software. It seems this would make for a very powerful tool if enabled. What about being able to sync routes and tracks with google earth? I have seen the new application "my maps editor" , but it only enables you to manually place lines or shapes.

Firstly this has turned out to be quite a long post so please bear with me as its not too difficult but you may need to clarify something with me if i haven't explained it correctly.
So with some help the other day from guys on this forum, i managed to partially set up my 'mapClass' class, but i'm having trouble with it and its not running correctly so i would like some help if possible. I will post the code below so you can see.
What Ive got is a 'Dundrum' class which sets up the listView for an array of items.
Then ive got a 'dundrumSelector' class which I use to set up the setOnClickListener() methods on the listItems and link them to their correct views.
THIS IS MY DUNDDRUM SELECTOR CLASS....

Then what i did was set up static ints to represent the buttons which you can see at the top of this class, the reason for this is because in my mapClass activity I just want to have one method, because the only thing that is varying is the coordinates to each location.
ie. i dont want to have 100+ map classes essentially doing the same thing other than different coordinates into the method.
So my map class is as follows...

Now this is where my problem is. The onClick() events don't even work from the listView to get into the correct views. I have to comment out the methods in 'DundrumSelector' before I can get into their views.
And this is what I dont understand, firstly why wont the onClick() events work, because its not even on that next view where the map is.
I know this is a very long post and it might be quite confusing so let me know if you want any clarification..
Just to recap, what i'm trying to do is just have one class that sets up the map coordinates, like what i'm trying to do in my 'mapClass'.

When I load Google Maps and it first locates me, it centers the map on my location. Once I am travelling, the map does not follow my location. My location dot will go right off the map and I have to manually drag the map to see the next section I am now driving on.
Is there a setting to make Google Maps follow my position while driving?

I have started using Waze for my GPS navigation needs. The problem is, I had previously told my phone to use Google Maps Navigation (or simply "Navigation", the one with the blue arrow icon, instead of the other option at the time which was TeleNav GPS Navigator), but I can't seem to remove that default app setting.
I have gone to Settings->Applications->Manage Applications->All to look for the Navigation app and clear "Launch by Default" setting, but it does not appear in the list of apps at all.
Is this a thing about Google apps, that they are kept hidden and forever locked into being your default app once you tell it so? I thought maybe it was part of the regular Google Maps app, but the setting there says there are no defaults set to be cleared.

I cannot find a way to change the push setting for the Gmail app that came with the phone.
I setup a Yahoo account and was able to adjust hourly, 2 hour, manual, etc..
For the Gmail, I cannot find a setting that allows to adjust this?

My google maps constantly runs in the background (at least that's what the system and app manager tell me)Am I the only one with this issue? It seems that no matter how many times I kill google maps with my process/app killer it pops back up and on seconds later?Is there a way to permanently keep it from coming online until I want to actually use it?Every time i look at my battery use google maps is at like 80% but I dont even use it! I feel like this is heavily affecting my battery life

Ok so whenever i use google maps it doesnt follow the blue arrow so to speak. like the blue arrow will move but the screen wont move with it to keep the arrow in the center of the screen.

I just got my replacement DINC and I can't seem to find the Navigation app to put on my homescreen. I already have google maps but I had the navigation shortcut on my old DINC and that was handy to have so I can just speak my destination after opening it, and now I can't find it. I have the latest update to Google Maps.

My incredible keeps launching google maps on it's own. I will kill it will ATK and it will stay killed for a while but sometime between 15min to 45 min later it will have launched itself again. Has anyone found a way to stop this?

I received the alert to update Google Maps to 4.2, but everytime I try to install the update, I keep getting Update Unsuccessful (tried 5 times with resetting after each installation attempt). What could be the problem? Do I need to remove 4.1.1 first? I don't undertstand why I would as all other updates automatically replace the old/existing file. I emailed the developer, but no response has been received. Suggestions/fixes are welcome.And I'm still suffering from disappearing text conversations with stock messenging. I tried to download Handcent, and it wouldn't work. Oh well.

I use to be able to search for categories of things in my area by opening google maps and then clickin 'menu' and then 'search' and immediately a list of categories would pop up and i could click on 'restuarants' for instance and then select by sub category such as 'chinese'. Now, the search button only opens a search box. I've seen the places icon but that's no more than a macro to search for broad words like "bars" or "restuarants" in google maps. It's not a full categorization.

I know there have been a few threads about this, but I didn't find any way to fix it. When i look on my break down of what is eating my battery it says that google maps is doing anywhere from 90-100% of my usage even if I haven't used maps at all. How do I fix this because it is driving my crazy.

I rooted my phone with Unrevoked3 the Unrevoked Forever. I used my GPS and Navigation to a friends house. It worked great! Then I flashed to the OTA official ROM. Didnt change any setting. My GPS is set on. Under the "LOCATION" setting..everything is checked.
Now I can go to Google Maps and then get my location and then search and stuff. I can even get direction to places. However, when I hit NAVIGATE...all I get is "SEARCHING FOR GPS..." And it would be stuck at the screen for the longest time without going into the Turn-by-turn direction. I turned off my GPS and turned it backed on again...NOTHING! I just adjust the setting...nothing. I even factory reset the phone and getting the same message when I use the navigation feature.
I also notice that the GPS location is not accurate at all...a lot worst than before. This is very annoying since I can use my turn by turn direction. I tried uninstall but the phone wouldnt let me. Since im rooted is there anything I can do?

My Incredible just popped up with an update to Google Maps! We now have pinch to zooom! I kinda figured something like this would happen since the eris 2.1 update just came out with pinch to zoom maps. Any1 having issues with it tho? Mine seems to be acting kinda funky...

Double tap to zoom in works. I have Traffic Layered. My pinch to zoom is working for everything else like Sense UI.

Well it looks like questions for Google Voice are in threads all over the place so I guess I'll start another one here. Here goes. I'm setting up my GV account and plan on selecting a GV number. Now will people calling me on my new number see any difference billing-wise compared to my current cell number? I know this doesn't really apply to cell phones but what about someone calling from a land line? The GV number I am selecting will be based out of the city I live in. Will that equate to the city or area of my current cell number?

I know there was an option to avoid toll roads and highways on my Eris, but I can't seem to find that same option on the Incredible.Can anyone else confirm this?It's hard to imagine that on the Eris you can but on the Inredible you can't.It's the only thing I miss about my Eris.Is there anyway to avoid tolls on the Incredible?

1) Is there a way to save addresses or driving directions? Like if I know i'm going on a trip tomorrow and want to prepare for the trip, can i put in the addresses and get directions, then save? Also, can I save my HOME address? So whenever I'm anywhere, just say "home" and it route my destination?

How do you change the direction of the optical track pad on the Desire and Legend? Has anyone else noticed that it functions the exact opposite to the touch screen? I find this annoying and would like to reverse it. Anyone know how?

I would like to know if somebody knows a library to changing the playback rate of a track in real time. My idea is to load a track and change its playback rate to half or double. Firstly, I tried with MusicPlayer but is was not possible at all and then I tried with SoundPool. The problem is that with SoundPool I canīt change the rate once the track is loaded.
