I have this problem- after do wake my Hero up on desktop and try to load some web page, the phone shows "Web page not available", and when I click on the shown link for the same page below this label "Web page not..."-everything is back to normal till next time when phone goes to sleep mode..

I want to transfer messages from the android device to desktop application. My question is that can i connect the android WiFi device with the desktop WiFi device without any use of internet connection. I want to use it just like the Bluetooth. is this possible or not? if it is possible then how can i implement it?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI had a rooted Evo with 3.26 build with wifi tethering that worked PERFECTLY, got damaged, so my insurance replaced it, and now I have a brand new Evo 4g with 3.29.651.5 build that I just rooted and downloaded wifi tethering, but can't get online! I have "limited connectivity". I didn't have this issue with my last Evo. Anyone else had this problem with a new Evo before?
View 5 Replies View Relatedmy WiFi on my Evo has been acting up, so I went and restarted modem and router, turned off WiFi on Evo, battery pull Evo, then as a last resort, I updated my router's firmware (since its been over a year since update =/) so I figured maybe that would solve something. Nope, can't even update Twitter, Facebook, get on internet. I did update on 6/28 and everything went smooth and my WiFi was working then. I have done nothing since and then all of a sudden, last night and today WiFi wont work.
I guess to explain this better, I can connect to my router, Evo shows that I'm connected with Good/Excellent connection and 55 mbps, but its like no internet connectivity, Facebook, Twitter, Internet, nothing. Like I've said up until last night everything was working until now. Did the update on 6/28 just slowly kill my WiFi?
I have a new Droid Incredible. I am trying to get it set up, configured, etc., and was trying to connect to my home WiFi network. I have an airport express (in bridge mode) connected to a router. The router is connected to my cable modem via ethernet, and also connected to my Mac desktop via ethernet. My Incredible can see my home network, but when I try to connect it hangs at the "acquiring IP address" stage and eventually fails. I know my phone is functional, because it connects fine to the wireless network at work. I know my home network is fine, because I can connect to it via my laptop no problem. I'm sure there is some setting that I am messing up, but I'm pretty naive about networking issues.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have an application which continuously fetches data from the server , downloads and plays songs ..My app runs on WiFi. After around 30 minutes , the application loses connectivity .. At that point of time if a browser is opened it connects to the internet.. But my app has lost connectivity.If i make explicit requests thru the app by user interaction the connectivity is regained, but automatic disconnection happens many times.. Even if the setting for Wifi always on is set, this this happens. This issue i observed on HTC Magic and Samsung Europa..Does anyone have an idea why this happends.

I will respond to any direct questions in regards to my configuration.I have a brand new Motorola Droid 2 and a Cisco 851w wireless router which I have configured myself.I can successfully associate the droid 2 to my wireless network. It obtains an IP address, subnet mask, gateway, etc.Using an android market ping utility, however I cannot ping externally or even to my gateway.I've tried the following in the process of my troubleshooting:tatically assigning my droid's internal addresses (and explicitly naming DNS).Unhiding my SSID Provisioning an alternate completely unsecured, unhidden wireless SSID (as opposed to an original hidden SSID, WPA2/PSK configuration)Restarting the phone and routerLaptop devices are able and have been able to associate, and pass traffic without issue for over a year.I cannot really pinpoint an issue with this setup, as I am able to associate and browse consumer/business wireless networks elsewhere without issue. Searches for the above described issue yield the same suggestions I have attempted in the process of my troubleshooting.

View 2 Replies View RelatedVery happy with the i9000 in the last few days of ownership, using launcher pro in place of stock but otherwise mostly unchanged. One issue we have is that after being at home overnight on WiFi, the phone doesn't automatically re enable 3g. To restore the mobile data you have to go into the network operator selection and re select Optus (our carrier here in Aus). Leaving it on auto doesn't help, and you have to manually choose it each time (ie: it "forgets" what I selected or something). Using apndroid to mangle the apn on/off doesn't help. Restarting the phone fixes it but obviously not ideal.
Have tried entering the code to change it to gsm only instead of the default wcdma/gsm auto with no benefit. When the mobile data is working, it happily switches between 2g and 3g, but will sometimes simply stop working as per the wifi overnight problem and I have to manually select the operator again. This happens very randomly and can go several days without drama, our only a few minutes. While this data won't connect, the phone capabilities aren't affected and you can make and receive calls fine. In fact if you dial a number it sometimes causes the data to re connect.
Is there a way to make a page load and display the whole page to begin with like the iPhone rather than being zoomed in?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI bought my Xperia x10 mini yesterday, and one of the first things I did was to set it up for WiFi in my house (which I already have 2 laptops and a stationary PC connected to). Setting it up was easy and quick, but my phone doesn't find the network, not even if I am standing right beside the router. I have tried to restart the WiFi connection, restart my phone, delete and re-add the home connection, but the phone still doesn't connect to the network.
The network's SSID isn't broadcasted for security reasons, could this be the problem? When I search for networks, it doesn't find any 'unnamed' networks like the windows pcs do. (which is normally the one I need to connect to.) Is there something wrong with my hardware? Or my software (my phone is completely up-to-date)? (Except broadcast the SSID, which is not an option..)
I have recently created a new gmail account, and transferred all contacts etc. Since my Hero cannot read more than one account, I deleted my first account - planning to reconnect my Hero to the new account - thus enabling all the new data to connect.
However, my phone will not connect to the google server - thus I cannot get my contacts or calendar, and cannot get to the market. The message I get says: 'cannot establish a reliable data connection to the server'.
I wanted to give Android a try after having an iPhone for about 4 years now (1st generation iPhone). I decided to go with a used "China" phone - Hero h300 because I didn't want to splurge and find out that Android wasn't for me. So far I do like it but I am running version 2.2.1 (Froyo) and am having an issue with the WiFi connection. I'll initially connect and after a random span of time it will start failing to load pages when browsing or the market will report that there was an error (or lost connection) even though the phone still shows a WiFi connection.
I do not have a data plan and am using WiFi for connection and have setup the phone to use the WiFi instead of Sim data connection. I use WPA/WPA2 PSK security for the wireless network. If I turn off WiFi and turn it back on (on the phone), it will reconnect and work for a while but the problem comes back. So while I "surf" the internet or Market, I have to constantly turn the WiFi on and off.
What can I check or try to resolve this issue? I actually had bought this phone because the iPhone's WiFi was going loopy (it would just scan and scan and scan and never find any networks - even if it was literally sitting next to the wireless router) - so it's kind of ironic that the main problem I have with this phone turns out to be it's WiFi
I've been using Android for a little while, iOS before that, and WM6.x before that. I've really enjoyed Android, but there is one thing I notice on iOS that seems to be missing on Android. Specifically, with iOS, if you connect to a WiFi network that has a proxy/login page (e.g. hotel, commercial space etc) as soon as you attempt to use any app that requires a data connection, it recognizes it isn't connecting to the internet and pops up with login/landing page.
However, my observations on Android seem to be that it just doesn't recognize that happening, so for instance today I was at Lowe's (I had previously saved their public wifi) so my phone connected automatically. I then went into Gmail and I get a 'no available connection' which then meant I needed to launch Chrome which loaded the last page I was one, but since it did it from cache it loaded, which meant I needed to reload it which finally brought me to Lowe's landing page and allowed me to login. Compared to iOS this substantially more cumbersome.
Right now I'm running a de-sensed ICS rom on htc rezound, previously tested with thunderbolt and droid charge (all with stock and custom roms). Any hacks/mods/applications that will give me more of that seamless functionality in Android?
After rooting my Hero the night it came out, I noticed that I'm having connectivity issues. Weather won't update, can't check email, can't access facebook, etc. How to put my phone back to normal?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am having an issue where my phone connects fine to my home internet Via a new N-Router, then while using the phone and going through different apps like facebook or android market. I get errors about unable to fetch updates or unable to update page. All the while the WiFi icon is still on in the status bar. It seems that when I turn off the WiFi then back on or power the phone off then back on it work again for a short while. I don't have issues with my laptop or WiFi that use this same router.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI bought this x10 two days ago. I am not still able to make Internet work on it via WiFi. Tasks I performed:
1. Updated X10 to the latest firmware.
2. Connected to My WiFi Network and given the authentication details.
3. Connection status is connected in X10. (There is no problem in connecting to my WiFi Network for X10).
4. I went to Browser and typed Google its coming as "Page Cannot be Displayed"
Problem is: X10 is connecting to WiFi but Cannot Browse. I tired even Use Static IP and gave DNS and gateway even.
When I try to connect to my University's network , the my Galaxy S is able to connect JUST fine. However, when I open a browser it says the incoming certificate is not secure and then I have NO INTERNET on any page. It tries to redirect me to the login page for the network but fails to do so with a "communications error" and subsequent no internet access of any sort.
What the network is supposed to do is redirect me to the login page so that I can register the device to the network and login using my university account. My phone can't do that apparently and just sits connected to the network with NO INTERNET connectivity.
This is the university network and the instructions how to get on it for Android devices: [URL] .... I connect to it just fine but am UNABLE to get to that device registration/login page.
This is NOT just for my university. ANY public network which requires me to accept an "agreement" before it lets me have internet access, my phone KILLS ITSELF and CANNOT pull up the agreement page but instead tells me there is no internet. I'm SURE its a software problem or something with settings but can't figure out just what it is.
Just about the only networks I can connect to on Wi-Fi are home networks.
I've been experiencing an odd issue with the Captivate and Wifi. I'm right next to my router, signal at full force, all bars showing on the phone, and I get the "page not available screen"? At first I thought the problem was with the sites, but everything works fine on 3G. I tried multiple websites, and I've been getting mixed results. This phone is new, I just exchanged my last phone for it a few days ago, and my grace period ends tomorrow. Does this sound like an issue that is the fault of the phone hardware, software, or am I just over reacting?I'm concerned because tomorrow is the last day I can exchange it, and I want to make sure that there is nothing wrong with the wifi radio.

Sometimes it fails connect, and I have to go into Settings to try again. Is there a way/app to scan automatically or re-attempt to connect again? Maybe there's something I'm not thinking of?

I don't know if it is important, but it always seems to be connected to Edge, and not any other type of connection. I also use NetSentry, but I don't think this could be part of the problem, could it?

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have the tronsmart CX-919 mini pc running 4.2 and there is an issue with the browser reverting back to the home page or the previous page. When I try to display a webpage on our intranet it reverts back to the homepage or previous page after about 3 hours. I need it to display constantly. I read somewhere that it was a Download Manager issue and disabling it would work but I can't find where to disable it. Also it was stated that Flash was an issue but i tried uninstalling it and it just reinstalled itself and the problem kept occurring. I just want to display a page in a browser and for it to stay on the screen (full screen) until I manually navigate away from it. I plan to leave it on for weeks at a time.
