Has anyone noticed in the 2.1 rom we have a lot more flash support! You can load facebook apps and such... seems to run out of memory on some though. Anyone else see the flash enhancements?

View 4 Replies View Relatedi notice when i try to use my phone's "flash player capabilities" that it works like chit. for instance, it won't play videos streamed on justin.tv. and today i tried to go to kings of leon's website so i could listen to their new album from my phone (Kings of Leon | Come Around Sundown) but it failed to work again. i can see all the songs, click on the buttons, even track forward in the songs, but NO SOUND and the songs remain on pause and won't play. is there an update or some kind of APP i can install to where i can actually get some benefit from the flash player.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm sure that this has been asked before, but after searching the forum I came up with some older posts regarding flash player (obviously not released at that point). Anyways, I received my HTC Incredible and noticed that it has full flash support, but my brother's HTC Eris does not. Is there any release for flash for the Eris or does it have to wait until the full release?

View 8 Replies View RelatedI recently upgraded from a G1 to a Desire.
One feature that's bugging me on the Desire, the default application for Youtube videos seems to be the HTC Flash Player, but I don't want to use this. I would prefer it if it opened with the Youtube player so I can get high quality video when viewing Youtube clips on WIFI - the HTC Flash Player has no settings or option for video quality improvement.
On my G1, every time I opened a link for Youtube (from e.g. the browser or Seesmic), it opened up the Youtube application as the default viewer.
I have gotten both the Flash Player and Flash Lite APK's, and I have been trying to install them on the Droid. Flash Player refuses to install on stock 2.1. Flash Lite installs, but after install I can not connect to the internet (Nothing connects, Skype, market, random app, browser.)
So I wanted to know if anyone wanted to do some testing with them, to see if you can get them running on the ROM you are running. Maybe we will be able to make fun of iDevices earlier, because Droid Does what iDont

I'm a Flash developer trying to run Flash apps inside Android/HTC Hero. AFAIK, there's no official Adobe Flash Player for Android and I know the Flash player that is in the Hero is HTC's, but the information out there is really scarce.
I've managed to create an app that runs SWF files following this tutorial:
http://www.flashmobileblog.com/2009/08/12/flash-development-with-andr...
I have a some technical questions (why it only runs on landscape mode, any chance to test Flash apps in the emulator, how can a Flash app communicate with the Android app it's embedded in), but I'm not sure this is the right place to ask.
To wrap up, has anyone on the list any info regarding Flash and Android? Is this something the Open Handset Alliance could sort out with Adobe (via the Open Screen Project) to release a Flash player within all Android devices and not only HTC's?
I was browsing the android market and I found that Flash Player 10.1 was one of the apps for download on there. I was wondering if this was different from version of flash that came with the 2.2 froyo update. Is this download necessary or not needed cause its the same as the flash update with froyo?

I got my phone a few weeks ago and the flash player worked then. But now if I choose it, it just for a to a blank a screen. For the same video, if I choose YouTube it plays fine.
View 1 Replies View RelatedToday I carried out check to see if any updates were available. Much to my excitement I noticed that 2.2 was there so I carried out the download. I now have WiFi hotspot, flashtorch, 720p camcorder and applications sharing available in my apps list. The problem stems when I go to view just in TV or BBC iplayer and I am told that my device does not support flashplayer. I have checked and adobe flashplayer is there when I go to manage applications. When I click on it takes me into it but all options to click on are shaded and I cant do nothing about it.
View 4 Replies View RelatedJust tested data receiving on both, a 57 second clip (of King Crimson!) used only 0.6 mb on the YouTube app, the same clip used 2.3mb on the flash, that's nearly 4 times as much. what reason is there for using the flash player at all? not running 2.2, locked to Orange network.

View 2 Replies View RelatedBasically I was trying out the appbrain app the other day which suggests apps to download. One of these recommendations was to update my flash player 10.1. I did this as suggested but it ate up about 10mb of my internal memory! Leaving me with that dreaded 'low on space' message. Anyway I uninstall the update and all was well. But now when i go on the market it downloads automatically and its really annoying me. So... do I need it? What's the benefit? And how do I make it go from downloaded apps tab in market?

As per that article, there is an update for flash available in the market. However, flash is baked into the evo rom, and did not come from the market. How do we get the update? Download the update from the market and will it overwrite what we already have?
I thought the 2.1 update would include the Flash player but apparently that is not so. Is there another way to install it?
