View 4 RepliesI looked at previous threads and could not find an answer for the Capitvate. I would like to listen to music or videos thru my blue tooth headset, It worked on my old samsung eternity, and i am having problems with my cappy.
View 9 Replies View RelatedRecently I've been having an issue with Google Play Music where when I play a song, it plays for a second then pauses, so I have to press play to get it going again. This occurs repetitively which means I can't listen to music.
It happens on songs that are being streamed and on songs that are on the device.
Funnily enough, if the song is played through ES file explorer and the little play music popup window comes up, it plays fine.
I've got this issue on both my devices, a tf101 running 4.3 and a nexus 5 with stock 4.4 rooted.
Edit: just remembered, I've also got this issue with MX Player and videos. I can't figure out what's wrong.
Streamed videos played through the gallery video player work fine.
I was just wondering if the Droid can handle voice commands such as "Play Music", "Party Shuffle", "Play (Artist)", "Play (Song)", "Play (Album)", "Open Email", "Play (Video)", etc, etc; or if there are plans for this in the future firmware? I personally could make use of this, especially "Play (Artist)". I tried to make it play a song and it called my grandma ):
Also, can anyone tell me the difference between voice search and voice dialer? It seems like when I use voice dialer, I say "Call Home" and a list of options pops up of who to call (one choice being Home) (When I wish it would have just automatically called Home), but if I use voice search it automatically does call Home.
I took out the 8GB SD card from my Blackberry Storm and put it the Incredible.
I had a bunch of music saved on my SD Card that I downloaded from VZW Music Media thing.
When I go to music on the Incredible and go over the song (it shows the picture of the album of the song)
it says "unable to play this type of audio"
I see another post on this but it's a little outdated so I'm hoping there has been a recent development.Looking for a way to transmit audio from media (music, movies, audiobooks...not phone calls) to my standard bluetooth wireless device, which is not A2DP.This worked perfectly with no tweaks on my enV Touch so clearly it isn't a hardware issue, which by extension means there should be a software workaround, possibly in the form of a downloadable App.Anything that would work is cool though registry edits, whatever, I just desperately want to listen to audiobooks at work without buying a new headset!
View 10 Replies View RelatedI got desire. Awesome phone. My question is regarding headset you get with the phone. Like every other headset I got with phone it appears to have music control buttons but they won't work with music application that's built in to the phone. What I mean exactly is non of the button on headset does anything like pause/play, forward or backward however it does work for hanning up calls u make. Is it suppose to not work with music or something wrong with mine?
View 1 Replies View Relatedwhen I want to stream one particular song I noticed that the Google Play Music app downloads and caches the previous/next few songs for quicker access. How can I prevent this? It uses a lot of data and I usually only want to listen to the one song I chose to stream.
For example if I play a 6 mb song i noticed it uses about 40 mb to stream just that one song. Then I selected a different song to stream and immediately went into settings > download queue and noticed it was loading more songs than the one I requested. I only want to listen to the 1 song I chose, so how can I prevent the other songs from loading? As far as I can see there is no way in the app's settings but there has to be another way to stop this inconvenience.
P.S. I have a T999 galaxy s3 running on stock rooted ICS
I currently have an iPhone 4S and I am probably going to get a Galaxy Note 2 when it comes out for Verizon. In order to prepare for this, I set up Google Play Music to upload my music so it can be ready for me when I get my new phone (I like it better than Samsung's default music player). Only one problem: protected AAC files (or DRM) can't be transferred to Play Music. I tried converting my music with 2 different DRM converters, but they were free trials, and it only would convert 1:00 of each song and then stop. Is there any free way to convert each protected song completely, along with protected videos? Also, does music on Play Music eat up an Android device's space? I have over 12 GB of music and movies and I don't want to have barely any any space left on a 16 GB device if a 32 or 64 GB ever comes out, minus the SD card.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have music that is playable with Google Play Music player, but not with other players. I have chosen for the music to be "on the device", and it plays when even in Airplane Mode, so I know it is not streaming, but the music files do not show up in my "Music" directory tree, or under any other file trees that I can find. I have used ES File Explorer to do a top down search for some of the missing titles, but it doesn't find them. I'm perplexed. There must be a cache somewhere, but I can't find it.
View 5 Replies View RelatedTrying to find a way how to move music from google play to the stock music player. It has better sound quality, in my opinion, than google play itself. Any way to get music from google play to the music player app that comes with Android Ics.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI've been an Android user since the G1.
I have a Nexus 4 with a considerable amount of "pinned" music in the Play Music app taking up storage space. This pinning seems to have taken on a life of its own, and I'm finding that the app is permanently storing music locally that I never wanted downloaded.
So my question is this: what's the best way to completely clear everything that's been "pinned" so far, and start over? I knew how to unpin music in the app before the recent design refresh, but now I'm not seeing it anywhere. Is there a way to just unpin everything through the app? Or can I use a file manager or connect the device to a PC and just delete the music files?
I use Google Play Music. Over time, I've chosen certain albums to store locally ('pin') from music.google.com on my Android 2.4 phone. Now I wish to clear these out from the phone in the name of space and begin anew.
Without an apparent way to do this on the phone (?), I connected the device to a computer and wiped out the Android music directory's files manually.
Then, when I returned to my phone's Play Music app and attempted to choose new music to pin to the device, Android is re-downloading *all* of the music I had previously chosen to store locally, completely defeating the purpose of this pursuit.
Is there a way to start fresh on the phone without deleting music from URL....? I simply want to download a select few albums to a device from my Play Music account, not everything I have ever selected to pin since my history with the service.
I recently started using the Google Play Music free service, so I uploaded my complete music collection with the Music Manager software, everything is cool but I noticed that some of the album art looks kinda bad on my Nexus 7 (I guess is because the resolution). So my question is, if I were to change a tag of a song on my PC, will it be automatic updated to my google play account?
View 1 Replies View RelatedAnyways, whenever i'm listening to music, and I press the play/pause button on my headset to control my music tracks, my phone turns on. This get's really annoying because every time my phone turns on, it stays on for a few seconds, and this really kills battery life. I've tried lurking around my phone's settings and even my launcher settings.
My phone is a rooted HTC Wildfire S running AOKP custom rom with Nova Launcher Prime. And if it makes any difference, I'm using the "Start" lock screen from the Play Store.
I have a HTC magic, and i broke my headphones, but i have a nice headset from motorolla.I wanted to listen to music through my bluetooth headset so i was wondering is there and app or a fix for this issue.
View 47 Replies View RelatedSo when I bought my Droid, the offered me a "Bluetooth Package" which included the LG HBM-210 headset, a case, and a car charger (I can't remember if the screen covers were included or seperate). Is it possible to play music on that headset? Right now, after I pair it with my Droid, it only starts receiving sound when I receive or place a call. When I play music on the build-in player or with Pandora/Last.fm/Imeem nothing happens. It just plays from the speaker. If I can't listen to music through it at all I think I'll probably return it along with the case/cover I got.
View 4 Replies View RelatedHow do I manage to transfer music to my Bluetooth Headset. Currently only calls go through.
View 4 Replies View RelatedMoved from an iPhone 3G. It an do more but it sure take hacking. I have a few problems but I'll start with the main one. I am absolutely annoyed by the (wired) headset button behavior. On the iPhone I used the button for three things. Phone operation (pick up when rings, hang up to end call). Stop and start (and skip to next/previous) for music and for podcasts. I absolutely cannot replicate this functionality on the N1. I tried close to a dozen podcatchers. Most worked just fine but I either had to tell then to take over the button in which case it did not work in the music player or I had to disable it in which case it worked for the music player but not the podcast app. Behavior for incoming phone calls were pretty random depending on which app I used. Some overrode the podcast and rang into the headset and allowed me to pick up with the button, some didn't and I had to scramble to get to the phone. And it is absolutely annoying to press the button expecting to pause whatever I am listening to and to get a second thing playing on top of it. Not cool. I had no intentions of developing a new hobby: unexpectedly listening to music, a podcast while trying to order food at the counter. I am waiting for the moment I'll get to try all these things while trying to pick up the phone. (I think you get the picture).
After doing some reading I am not optimistic that I'll fix this. It sounds like applications have to hijack the headset button from each other. This explains the total randomness of actions. It never is assigned to the last thing I was listening to (with priority to phone controls when needed). That would make sense.
Thinking of possible solutions (short of anything destructive to the phone), I developed a few that theoretically could work.
1, I heard of apps in which I can regain some control over what the button does. Sounds like a pain in the ass especially since I do not want to think about these things but I have not tried these yet.
2, Getting a podcatcher that downloads podcasts in the background and allows the media player to see them. This way I would never have to run the podcatcher and could do everything from the media player. So far I only messed with the defalt audio player app on the N1. When I tell the podcatcher(s) to allow the music player to see the podcasts, it usually shows up as chaos. My music directory is chaotic enough. This just does not sound like a good solution (though I admit I did not explore alternative music players and how much order they can bring to the status quo with some tweaking).
3, Theoretically speaking it sounds like if I could find an awesome integrated music player with a built in podcatcher (an app that could take care of both downloading and playing my podcasts and dealing with my music) that could work great assuming it allows the phone to take over controls inside and during incoming calls. I have not found such an app yet.
4, Anything I missed?
I am pretty much a perfectionist when it comes to this thing. We are talking about the three main functionality of my personal smartphone (closely followed by email, the browser and possibly the map which all work great). I need these things to work seamlessly and flawlessly to be happy as they worked with the iPhone. (Well, the iphone didn't have the automated podcatching capability but I was able to sync whenever I wanted so it was close enough.)
I have a quick question. When one chooses to pin music to your device in Play Music, where does Play store the music?
I can see the icon that play is downloading, but I couldn't find the downloaded music. Not looking in the right place.
I know many have the Droid issue where the music app will automatically start and play with certain headsets. It seems this is related to some headsets causing an erroneous media button event when plugged, unplugged or moved. I understand that rooted users can use the Autostarts app to disable the music app from starting. This is for non-rooted users who are looking of an alternative.
I've created a few Tasker scripts that seem to eliminate the problem. First I created a task that runs an android media stop command and displays a popup so I know when the event occurs. Then I created 2 profiles that use this task. Media button play and media button next. Both profiles have grab and stop checked. This seems to stop the music player from starting when a headset sends a bad event to my droid.
Unplugged headset bug was pissing me off so much that I decided to work with it.
Galaxo 1.6.3.x is really great and kicks ass.
If music app annoys you after unplugging headset just delete it.
Delete from system/app two files:
Music.apk
Music.odex
No need to restart, unplug your headphones and enjoy quiet.
Instead of crappy music.apk use Meridian from market
Right now, when I press the button on my headphones, the stock music app plays/pauses. Double-click dials voicemail, rather than skipping to the next song. Is there any way to fix this? I tried TuneWiki, which is nice, but it crashed on me a couple of times. It behaves properly, but I'd obviously like it to keep playing.I realize I might be nit-picking with this one, but I screwed up my shoulder and will be in a sling riding the metro to work tomorrow. I'd like to keep the music playing and be able to change tracks using my one good hand, especially since it's likely that I'll be standing up.
View 1 Replies View RelatedIt seems like I'm not the only one having issues with my headset not controlling my music. Even when I'm not on a call, the button seems to only want to control my phone.
View 2 Replies View RelatedThere's an app called DroidShuffle which allows you to control your music playback from your wired headset. You can custom set singe click, double click, triple click, and long click to either pause, skip to the next track, go to the previous track, switch to shuffle, or seek ahead a bit. Also, when using your wired headset in a call, this app allows you to end the call with a long click. I haven't seen any mention of this free app and thought a lot people would like to know.

i' m using china smartphone..
using Mediatek procie and ics rom.my question? why my wired headset button not working to control music such as play or pause....
I can get my music onto my phone and use them as ringtones, alarm tones and message tones but when i managed to do this they won't play in the music player, it says "no music found" but when i change my music to a different folder to get it to play in the music application. I then cant use them as my ringtones, message tones etc.

The same happens when I use headphones and car navigation, the sound coming out of the external speaker and headset simultaneously. If I use Bluetooth or regular headphones, the experience is the same.
