I've looked around and haven't seen this in other threads, but I've been in contact with HTC about the bump charging issue, and here is the "final" response I just received.

given all the tweaking I'm doing for battery sakes, I think it's a bit silly that probably the single biggest gain wrt battery life could be gained through the elimination of bump charging. if I could wake up in the morning and have my phone actually charged to 100% instead of 90%ish, that would be great.any rom's or apps have a way to fix this?

do you charge, then tun off the phone and charge til green? Or do you charge, turn off and charge til green, unplug and plug back in, and repeat? I've tried both and honestly I think it may last longer with the charge, turn off and charge and then stop.does repeatedly bumping it to green 3, 4 or even 5 time hurt the battery?

I am wondering how many Bump Charges do you all do? I saw a post saying 3 times, and I did 3 times, but the fourth time, I am still not fully charged because the LED light still RED after I turn the phone off and plug the USB charger in.Another concern is that, people mentioned this is a software issue, but I am bump charging the phone while it is OFF, so wouldn't this being a software issue since I do not have the phone turned ON?

As most of you know, the Inc will drop 8-10% of its charge within 10 minutes of being taken of the charger with no use.I stumbled accross a different method for "bump charging" that does not require the phone being turned off. After I take my phone off the charger I let it do its dropping for no reason dance. At about 92% I plug the phone back in, turned on. Once it hits 100% I unplug it.After that second charge the phone will stay at 100% for an hour or so with no usage.I drive to work, about an hour, so I dont use the phone since its too early to talk to anyone.I left with 100% and when I got to work it was still at 100%. This is with my phone connected to HFL through bluetooth.

So i am somewhat sick of bump charging. I know that it is EXTREMELY beneficial, as i get a good 20% boost in my battery life. But the downside is that sometime i do not have time to bump charge, other times i forget to turn on my phone for an hour or two... It is a hassle that i would like to avoid. Is there any software patch of some sort that would just fix the charging issue so that the first 7% do not drop so rapidly? I feel like there should be something out there, if not, then it seems like a possibility. So someone please let me know if there is anything out there that would fix the problem.

What directory does Bump look for photos in? It doesn't pull any of the pics I have taken with my camera (DINC), but seems to be pulling up some random photos and artwork associated with my other apps.

I am not 100% sure if it will improve battery life either but it wont hurt to try.
1. Power on your Desire then connect to your Charger and Fully charge until the LED changes Green.
2. Disconnect your phone from the charger and then power off.
3. Reconnect your phone to your charger with the power off and wait for the green LED.
4. Disconnect the phone from the charger and power it on.
5. Once the phone has fully booted / ready to use power off again.
6. With the power off connect the phone to the charger and wait for the green LED.
7. Disconnect from the Charger then power on and use normally.

It looks like you can send an app with the new version of Bump. This seems to include paid apps. Which completely circumvents the Android Market, of course. 1.) How is this possible? I thought access to apps themselves was off limits to API developers. 2.) If this is the case, why is Google not remote uninstalling Bump, and instead promoting it in the Android Market? (I haven't tried actually sending the paid app, so maybe it fails at that point - can anyone confirm? I hope to be proven wrong here) (I saw this using a Nexus One)

BTW mods, im not looking for support, just to discuss the issue and see if i can be brought to speed
Today i unplugged with my 3500 in the phone, checked emails for about 22 seconds and it dropped to 92%
turned phone off and plugged back in until green, and streamed Pandora while checking emails for about 15min before it even moved off of 100%
Just wondering, whats the latest word on this issue? Is it hardware? software?

I always have my phone plugged in over night, and one night I noticed that the screen came on for no reason, stayed on for a few seconds, and then went off. It did it a few times off and on. I thought it was a little weird, but didn't think too much about it, until just now.
I'm sitting next to my phone, plugged in, and the screen comes on again for no reason. It had been plugged in for awhile then, and when the screen lit up, I happened to glance at the battery status bar, and noticed that it did not show that it was plugged in. Now, maybe 30 min later, the battery bar shows that it is plugged in and full.
Could my Inc be self-bump charging? My phone is so new that it came with Froyo on it already (unless the Verizon guy downloaded it when he set the phone up)
Has anyone else noticed this at all? I've always had good battery life... I can usually make it through the whole day without hitting orange (12 hours+), with plenty of texting, some youtube videos, facebook, Daily(comic)Strip, and checking email and weather, plus Angry Birds. And I've never really bump charged.

To get the most out of your Incredible's battery, you have to bump charge. To bump charge (I think) you charge your battery until the light turns green, then turn your phone off, and wait until the light turns green again. I think this is a hassle, especially when I want my phone ready to go when I wake up (and I don't have time to bump charge).I was thinking that an app could be made to automatically bump charge the phone. All the app would do is turn the phone off once the battery initially charges to 100%, so the phone would keep charging once off, and get a real 100% charge.I am not sure if an app like this could be made, but it would be useful! The only problem I see is: after bump charging does your phone loose charge for every second it is plugged in, or does it stay at the true 100% until it is unplugged? If it loses charge while plugged in after bump charging, then this wouldn't work.

I'm going to post this in the Motorola droid forum as well.I have searched all over and even read the user manual for my wife's droid eris. I have a Motorola droid and I cant send pictures to her or vice versa. When I try to pair the bluetooths,I get a dialogue box that asks for a PIN,so as it suggests, i tried 0000 and 1234.It says on my Moto droid, cant connect with Eris and on my eris it says, paired but not connected. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.I am merely trying to send pictures and media back and forth between the two phones.
Problem No. 2
We both have the BUMP application where yo can bump info between the two phones. Well as the instructions suggest,I open bump on both phones and bump them. When i do this, it says "Please Bump Again" and then at the bottom it says "you were the only person that bumped" ON BOTH PHONES it says this. What is the problem here? I cant find any help on this, even on their website.

I'm by FAR not what you'd call a techie, and I'm totally new to the 'smart phone". I just bought a Motorola Droid. I'm still trying to figure this thing out. The one thing I'm kind of not liking is... With my old LG Dare, I used VZ Navigator for my GPS. That phone was a touch screen, but when I would use the GPS to find where I was going, I could lock the screen, and it would stay lit, and the program would continue to run. But if I bumped the screen with my finger, I wouldn't be thrown out of the program, or into another one.
I'm finding that with my new Droid (which uses Google maps) that when I'm using the GPS on that, I will occasionally bump the screen, and then I have to try to navigate my way back to the GPS. So if anyone knows of an app that allows me to keep my screen fully lit and the program working, BUT still locks the screen, could you please let me know?

This is where quality companies and lousy companies get separated. The quality companies forward the bugs to the software development department so that these issues can be tested, replicated, verified, and ultimately fixed.
What I'm asking is that anyone here who is experiencing the bump charge issue to please follow the below link and report your issue to HTC's support. Ultimately, I'm hoping that enough here do it so that HTC is forced to acknowledge the issue and test it, as the responses they've given me so far have indicated that they do not want to acknowledge it.
HTC Mobile Phones - Customer Service - E-mail Support
At the very least, we can compare responses from support reps if we get enough participation. Win win, as we either get acknowledgment from HTC, or pure comedy from their support reps. One last thing though, please be polite (at least initially) with the reps and focus primarily on the issue that needs to be fixed, rather than using this as a "prank call."

I've been doing the same thing for weeks now, but suddenly after I bump charge, my screen is black every morning.
I'm starting to see more and more threads about this over the last few days with other phones, but not for the Incredible. Everyone is saying 'turn it in, get a new phone.' What a pain in the butt to do that.
No one seems to have a cause for this. For me, I bump charge in the morning, and when I unlock after restart, everything goes black. I lock, unlock a few times, then I see my apps, but over a black back ground. I swap out my wallpaper and it works fine for me all day. But the last 3 mornings has resulted in a black screen.

After looking at the photos thread I gave the panoramic setting on the stock camera app a try. It's really cool but I hate the fact that it is limited to 640x480 segments. Is there a way to bump up the resolution in panorama mode? If not are there any camera apps that will take high res panoramas using the same method that the stock app uses?

My old development process allowed me to make any change in the java code and use eclipse's Run button to install the updated package to the emulator.
Now I get [2009-12-15 11:51:55 - Scoopful]Application already deployed. No need to reinstall. even though the code has changed.
I realize the manifest version Code is used to determine if the app has changed and it works fine if I bump up that number. This did not used to be necessary and it slows down development when I have to enter AndroidManifest and make a change with every deploy to the emulator. Is there a way around this?

I've tried searching my ass off (and posting this here with no replies) and can't find anything like this for android. So sorry if it's been asked (honestly don't think it has been though). I'm NOT talking about the "Bump to get contact info" app, either, which is all I keep finding.
A friend told me about this cool app for iPhone where all you have to do is bump the phone in on a specific side or direction and it will open a corresponding app (that you specify in settings) depending on which way you bump/tap it. I thought it sounded like a cool idea and figured someone would have ported it to Android too, but I have no idea what it's called or where I can find it. I would think it would be called "bump" or have that word in the name, but I just keep finding info on that other app for trading contact info. I dunno any other synonyms to search for it (besides tap), so I'm asking here.
If anyone can help me out with this, it'd be greatly appreciated. I'm currently running with Beast v.0.7.4.

I cant sync my google accounts ('sync is currently experiencing problems, it will be back shorly)
Google maps says 'no network connection'
Play store says 'server error'
Gmail says 'waiting for sync, your emails will appear shorly'
Sounds like my internet is broken? ITS NOT. whatsapp and opera mini, web browser is still working 100% and able to connect
I have tried:
turning sync of and on
clear the cache of various google apps
turning the phone off and on
The last action I did before it worked was to uninstall the 'microsoft outlook app'.

I know there have been other threads about the Youtube app no longer working (majority of the time), but it looks like it hasn't been commented on in awhile.SO, I really want to get this phone but won't until I know the bug is fixed. Can you Eris users let me know if your Youtube app is working or not working? (basically by not working I mean, almost every video you try to open you get a message saying: "Sorry, this video cannot be played")Also, does anyone have any logical ideas as to why not EVERY Eris user is affected by this bug?
