For some reason my battery is draining a lot faster all of a sudden. I went from losing about 6% battery over night to 20%. Can't figure it out. I deleted the most recent apps, turn off 3g and all that. I checked my running services and nothing changed.

I got my Eris aroudn the end of Novemeber or early Dec. Conditioned the battery as I followed on here. Now, the past two full charges this weekend haven't lasted at all. Battery draining super fast. I easily get 1 1/2-2 days on full charge, minimal phone useage/text/basic net. Full charge this AM, two texts, maybe 5 minutes total internet and now late afternoon re dlining and low battery level coming on.Defective, shot, or something else? I was getting very low awake time, now I see it is around 50%. I constantly use advanced task killer.
View 8 Replies View RelatedMy wife's phone has used almost 4GB of data this month and her battery has been draining much faster than mine, especially at night. Last night we watched in SystemPanel at the Net Receive indicator and it was constantly downloading at least 200+ kps. I had read about some issues with Facebook so we removed the Friendstream widget and saw the downloading go close to zero.
This morning, I checked the 8 hour monitoring in SystemPanel and saw that the CPU activity was still high overnight (running near 30%) and her battery drain was twice mine (over 13% used over ~7 hours, mine was around 5% drain).
I loaded up Spare Parts on her phone and was looked under Battery History, Network Usage and took this picture (sorry about the quality, her screen protector makes it hard to get a good picture and she is not rooted). Can anyone explain what UID 10006 is and why it is downloading so much data? I do not see it listed on my phone in Spare Parts. What do we need to do to turn this off or at least slow it down?
Since upgrading to 2.1 it seems my battery is draining faster than on 1.5 and my keyboard is lagging. Anyone else having these problems?

I deleted a few of the last apps I installed but it could be an update, wish it was easier to solve, but now Media is my number one battery usage, even after I uninstalled a couple new apps.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI've been here and XDA for quite a while but I recently started getting an increase of battery loss. Yes I know all about the not charging anymore once reaching 100% but that isn't the problem. I flashed Myns 2.2 R3 a while ago along with Kings #11 CFS. I was so happy when I realized it would take ~30 hours with occasional use and BeeJive running to hit 15% and warn me about low battery. It was only giving me ~23 hour with the same settings on Fresh 3.4.0.1. A few days ago, it started dropping rapidly and I'm not sure what caused but I was able to narrow it down to a few things. I remembered on that day, I dropped it once. I prayed to god it was okay. Picked it up and everything was working fine. I go and install a few updates and forget about it. Didn't notice the battery drop until the next day. I was only getting ~17 hours with everything kept the same way. Is there a log that I can access of everything I changed? I used Google nav for about 8 hours non-stop and while it was charging 2 nights ago, the battery never increased. That has never happened before, it would always charge more than it would drain. I didn't want to wipe and flash everything back since it's going to be a long week. Had a family gathering yesterday and gave my little cousins the phone to play with since it had so many games. There's another dinner tonight and wiping it would be out of the option now and until next week. Even then I think I'll be hesitant to do so since I don't even know if the problem lies within the apps.

View 2 Replies View Relatedi have been using xperia P for more than a year and um quite happy with it except one fact which is the battery drain issue. my phone is running stock JB with nemesis 6.3 kernel and some other excellent mods.but when the battery level is below 40-30% it suddenly falls below 20% both with the stamina mode on and off! i have tried almost all the stock based custom roms and this issure persists.this doesn't happen when the battery level is above 40%, i have been facing this issue since i bought it!
View 1 Replies View RelatedWell today I went to lunch, when I got back I checked my phone and it was down to 70% battery life after 4 hours of no use. I checked Spare Parts, it showed the phone as having only slept 50% of the time, and something called "init" had been using the CPU for a little over 2 hours and the phone was very warm (~100f according to my battery widget).The battery manager (I'm running 2.2) showed Android OS as using around 60% of my battery life, so I rebooted the phone and went about my day. Minutes ago, my phone told me I need to charge it, only 7 hours after it was at 70%, it is now sitting at 15%. Once again I checked Spare Parts and my phone has been running 75% of the time since I rebooted it. I once again check the battery manager and it shows Android OS using up around 75% of my battery (again). Spare Parts yet again showed "init" as having the most CPU usage since I rebooted my phone.Anyone have any clue what "init" is in terms of Android OS? Any way I can better diagnose the phone? Anyone have any clue what could suddenly be causing this when it didn't start until today? The only thing that has changed in the past 2 days is an update for LauncherPro, an update for a game that I rarely play, and an update to AppBrain. Other then that, my phone has had almost no usage for the past few days, and it suddenly started doing this today for no reason.

She usually would get a day or two no prob out of the battery with call it mild use. NOW she can have a dead battery by dinner on a full charge at 6am. This started happening within the last couple of weeks, call it since 10/15/10. Anyone have any ideas what's going on? She hasn't downloaded any new apps or changed any settings.

I tried installing new rom but now as soon as I turn on the device it works for like 2 minutes in its real charging percent (e.g 60%) then crashes and restarts to 0%
The battery is original and It's not swollen.
I have downloaded a number of widgets and apps.is this the reason? Im using Tajm, BattStatt, 3g Watchdog, DroidStats, Internal and external memory notifications, retro clock.Ive got all of these as widgets spread out over the 7 screens.Also guys if your phone was not used all day and locked how much battery would you say would get used?
View 22 Replies View RelatedAfter the ota update I went from getting full day battery life with pretty heavy usage to 10 hours. The update was supposed to improve battery life but it made it worse. I tried going a day without using home++ (home replacement app ) and my battery life went from 10 to roughly 36 hours!!! So if you are one of those people complaining about battery life after update like I was,and you are using this app try taking it off. hope this helps some ppl.

I know there is a CHANCE my battery just isn't being drained because of the 1.2 ghz ul, but it seems pretty slim to me. I have been using it for probably 4 hours without it going down form 100%.

Now I can have my phone always on for 7 days straight, that is 168 hrs (when using very limited wireless data connectivity of course), thanks to Galaxhero and some other tweaks.But anyway, lately I've been doing some tests regarding Google Latitude. I suspected that Latitude was messing (not just) a little bit with the battery life.So, yesterday at 9AM I unplugged the fully charged phone that had the Latitude feature on. Result: at 5PM the battery was at 90%.Today, I decided to turn off Latitude (leaving the rest of the configurations intact) and unplugged the fully charged phone again at 9AM. Result: it's 5PM and the battery status is at 100%.

Amazon MP3 came with the phone, yet my carrier won't support it ( cough Sprint ), they say call the application provider.I can't get a phone number to Android to give them a piece of my mind.I call Amazon and get sales people that don't want to listen and dump me on anyone they can find and are the wrong people. View 8 Replies View RelatedA while ago I got rid of Handcent because it was very laggy following updates.Having heard this had been fixed, I have downloaded it again and it's no longer laggy which is great.However, it is draining the battery. I know this because I've had the System Panel monitor on, and the history shows that the CPU usage for Handcent is high for about 15-20 minutes after I send a message (as opposed to the stock, which just goes down as soon as I've sent a message).Is there a setting somewhere on Handcent that I'm missing, that's keeping the CPU usage high?
View 22 Replies View RelatedJust wanted to get a feel for what the consensus view in this area is, as i'm slightly torn.On one hand i've read online (here I think, and elsewhere) that fully draining the battery regularly is bad for it and will damage its cells. (I'm not sure what regularly means, daily/weekly/monthly?) Hence i'm a little cautious to do it.However I tend to get far better batter usage after draining, turning the phone off and doing a full overnight recharge. Little top-ups, like taking it from 60% (where it reached through a day of medium usage) to 100% seems to result in inferior performance.A lot of people on here talk about overnight charging, which i've no problem doing. (In fact i'm used to it as my old Samsung Omnia required it) But 'how' do people do it? As in, do you regularly use 70-80% in a day and then leave it overnight? My current behaviour is to use it throughout the day in during (odd bit of browsing, txting, app usage etc) which can take 50-60%, then get home top-up for an hour or so, which gives me about 40% back, so I know i've got plenty in the evening when out.

After about 8 hours of being unplugged I was down to about 30% battery life.

View 20 Replies View RelatedThe last day or so after charging my phone to 100% overnight (phone is on when charging) and then putting in standby mode I'm losing like 5-7% of battery every hour.Over the weekend I was losing just 6% every 9 hours in standby mode. Today in 4 hours time I'm down to 65% already with mostly standby mode and a few minutes of browsing. I even had JuiceDefender installed since last night and it's not helping at all.To me it seems that something is in the background that is draining the battery though I when I check running services I don't see anything that shouldn't be there. When I was losing only 6% every 10 hours I did have a live wallpaper, weather/clock widget, and task killer. I didn't change anything on the next charge and now I'm constantly losing battery even in standby mode.
I have Wifi/GPS/background data off, brightness at minimum, no animations, etc. So pretty much followed all the battery saving pointers. I thought it was working good when I got just about 36 hours over the weekend with standby and moderate usage. So I don't know what has happened to my battery all of a sudden.The two times that I have managed to do 30+ hours on a single charge I had Advanced Task Killer running.However, even after doing 36 hours on one charge the next day even with ATK the battery started to drain a lot every hour in just standby. Anyone else having similar issues? I don't know what else to do at this time. I've uninstalled many of the apps thinking it might one of them causing the issue, but still having issues.
Following my last thread for same reason,"full charge battery goes empty in less then 3-4 hours,even with wi-fi,gps, turned off",with tip of you guys,i monitored battery usage with "spare parts" app,first i haven't notice anything unusual: SPARE PARTS gave me very normal cpu usage:1-android system2-browser, but then in the end of list of usage option,i checked other usage & what i found was very interesting:

running =time without sleeping 28.1 %

Now i guess i know why my phone run out of charge in less then 3-4 hours,question is what i have to do about it?

Over the weekend my battery was pretty good until I started playing with google maps. I accidently turned privacy on to lattitude and my battery was draining even though GPS was off. Lattitude will find you through tower location whcih uses cellular power! Much better this morning when I turned this feature off. In fact google sent me an email letting me know I forgot to turn it off.

Before I go on, I have no issues with 3G, been getting a solid signal since I got the phone yesterday, just a little confused on what to do? Shouldn't standby SAVE battery?

I know there's supposed to be a update on monday which has a possible fix for the battery but this battery is draining to much. i had my phone on the charger while i took a nap and it charged from 6% to 95% and its been 15 minutes and i am already at 83%, i've messed with the settings to fix the battery but it doesn't seem to have done anything. wtf is up man its like pissing me off how bad the battery is right now what are some of the settings that i should change that i don't need to use or apps i should download to fix it. another thing that really annoys me is why doesn't this phone push like my iphone used to? as soon as something would happen whether it was a new email or something facebook or twitter didn't matter, it would automatically push and be up to date, this evo i have to refresh it for everything whats the deal? and why does the facebook app suck so much on this phone and yet i cant find another facebook app? i cant even accept a friend request on it
