HTC EVO 4G :: Why Roms Are Not Working?

I have tried three different Roms and i haven't been able to get exactly what i want, I tried Mikrom or something like that and it was great, very fast and responsive (would be my top choice) but it doesn't have sexy Rosie so the theme I want doesn't work, same thing with Myn v3 (all though slower than mik) and now I am using fresh which i can get my theme on and even after trying two Kings kernels B and C 11, and on netachry 4.1.9.1 i think it is still leggy in some different areas, So i was wondering if anyone knew of another one for me to try. Looking for sense, with sexy Rosie, fast and stable, stripped down of preferable but not a deal breaker as long as i can just adb and take it all out. oh and the theme i am trying to use is the clear theme by riptide.

I know that all phones are different, however i spent about 4 hours yesterday trying every kernel from ulv to mv and none of them would boot. I dont get what im doing wrong. I even tried to use another one and just kept restarting. Any tips/hints? using rom manager.

I thought I saw a thread somewhere someone stared with roms that work with the SNESoid but I can't seem to find it (maybe I'm mistaking it for a different emulator though).
Can anyone point me to it, or tell me if they have been able to get Pitfall: The Mayan Adventure to work? It may be the ROM I'm trying, but I can't seem to get the game to work.
Also, I have not tried the PSX emulator, but am thinking about buying it. Can anyone with it try Pitfall 3D for me and see how that runs?

So they finally allowed the PSX4Droid to be released on the marketplace and I've tried out 5 ROMS. Post what you've tried and what works so we can all know what to download. Here's what I tried:
Oddworld Abe's Oddyssey - trailing images, background messed up. Sound is good, video images at beginning work great. Trailing images and background are disappointing.
Oddworld Abe's Exoddus - same as the first one.
Crash Bandicoot 2 - images ok, sound great but verrrry laggy.
Need for Speed III Hot Pursuit - flawless from what I experienced. Sound great, images great, video great.
Metal Gear Solid - most disappointing. Loads fine, goes to the menu, you select your difficulty....blank. I've tried from 2 rom sites. No dice.
Overall experience, disappointing. There really needs to be an update so these roms can work properly.

So PSX4Droid finally got released from the clutches of Google Market about an hour ago. Only problem now is I can't seem to get any roms to work. I set up a PSXROMS folder on my SD card, and my first d/l was Metal Gear Solid disc 1 and 2. I got them from here PSX ISO Download Section. So I downloaded the .rar, unzipped to get the .bin (says it's compatible), open the emulator, the emulator sees the files in the folder, I click it, it refreshes the rom screen. The emulator doesn't start. Am I doing something wrong? Wrong file type?

Maybe i'm not really seeing anything that stick out to me but could someone please give me an answer.
Whats the difference between a 2.0.1 ROM and 2.1 ROM?
I've been rooted for awhile and always stuck with either AdamZ ROM or Pete's Bugless Beast and they were all based off of 2.0.1. Is there something special I need to do in order to run a ROM based off of 2.1?

I'm currently running Warm TpT and I love it, and just wanted to know what the difference is between ROMS w/ Sense opposed to ROMS w/o Sense. I live in an area w/ 4g and am quite fond of it so I've stuck w/ ROMS running sense. Also, are there any Senseless ROMS that have 4g?

Just a little heads up out there for people like me who flash roms ten times a day. If you haven't already experienced this issue, you are likely to come across it in the future.
It is probably a good idea to make a backup of the contents of your sd card to keep when flashing from an a2sd enable rom to a non a2sd enabled rom. If your partitioned for a2sd and flash a non a2sd rom it will hold you phone at the boot screen or send you into an endless boot cycle.
I had to take everything off my sd card, re format the card, then flash the rom before I could load everthing back onto the card.
I may be a total noob, and for all you smart people this is probably a no brainer. But if I can keep anyone else from having this headache I thought it best to post it.

I cant sync my google accounts ('sync is currently experiencing problems, it will be back shorly)
Google maps says 'no network connection'
Play store says 'server error'
Gmail says 'waiting for sync, your emails will appear shorly'
Sounds like my internet is broken? ITS NOT. whatsapp and opera mini, web browser is still working 100% and able to connect
I have tried:
turning sync of and on
clear the cache of various google apps
turning the phone off and on
The last action I did before it worked was to uninstall the 'microsoft outlook app'.

I know there have been other threads about the Youtube app no longer working (majority of the time), but it looks like it hasn't been commented on in awhile.SO, I really want to get this phone but won't until I know the bug is fixed.Can you Eris users let me know if your Youtube app is working or not working? (basically by not working I mean, almost every video you try to open you get a message saying: "Sorry, this video cannot be played")Also, does anyone have any logical ideas as to why not EVERY Eris user is affected by this bug?

After finally getting ADC0.3BetaDark up and running, I can no longer access SetCPU.I uninstalled it, then reinstalled, let it search my phone automatically, and it freezes at the SU request.Also, when puttin SU into Terminal Emulator, I get stuck.

On the pre you had Preware to download patches (tweaks), the process was simple, just click the patch you wanted, self installed, thats it...patches were for anything that would enchance individual functions of your phone, not "replacing", but enhancing the way certain functions worked.....for the EVO, I assume these are "ROMS", is there such an app as Preware where we can on the phone search through ROMS, click and self install? Or is installing ROMS on Android more technically involved? Also, where can one find a directory of these roms that are organized in order of what they are for?

When android 2.2 is released into the wild, will we be able to get ROMs built for the Eris, or will we have to hope that they leak something. Also, thanks you devs for the great work you have put in. I love my Eris now more than ever.

I tried to install cm6 but i keep geting an error. what exactly has to stay on my sd card after i root? i deleted the pc36img file, was i supposed to keep that on there? do i need it on there if i want to go back to froyo 2.2 rooted?

I've rooted my EVO using unrEVOked 3 and I've installed ROM Manager but I can't install any of the roms. I also tried to flash cyanogen by putting the zip on the sd card and when I try to load it, it says installation aborted then give a bunch of other stuff. This happens also when I try installing a rom from ROM Manager.

I am currently Running Fresh 3.2 w/ Manup's rEVOlution's Theme for Sense.
In Flipz log it says users using 3.2 can upgrade to 3.3. with out a data wipe.
I of course am going to do a nandroid backup just in case but I am new to ROM's and Theming will flashing to Fresh 3.3 ROM over the 3.2 ROM Keep all my current Settings and What not? Also will it keep the Theme Intact?
Or will I need to re-install all the apps using Titanium Backup and re-set up all the accounts n crap again then re-install Manup's Theme?

I had stock for quite a while and got tired of it. I then went to use Fresh which I liked it but seemed to slow down the phone a little with all the sense crap on it. I am now using Cyanogenmod 6 and so far I love it. I was just wondering which other rom's out there don't use sense UI, also which rom works best on the htc evo and or which kernel. I am simply using the stock 1500mah battery but am really thinking about buying those battery's on ebay 3500mah ones.

How to download ROMS...I think. I went to [removed] in my browser and it downloaded the file but when I got to open it in the emulator it is saying "Load Rom Failed. Please try another file? It is a zip file. Do I need something extra downloaded on the phone to unzip it?

I've had my Droid since February and have it rooted. I've been using Smoked Glass v6.0.1 ROM and now I'm ready to change things up. I have ROM manager premium but I'm too overwhelmed by all the choices. I've been trying to research the different ROMs out there but there are too many.
Can we make a list here of what ROMs do what? For instance I've read Bugless Beast is great for speed but Ultimate Droid is better if you want looks and don't care about speed. Don't even get me started on CyanogenMod. There are way to many options with that one.

In here you can put what rom you are running and all the info, OC range kernels all that, and a screen shot of the main home screen. and you can discuss on which one is better. what one has that the other doesn't and etc.... i like talking about all that for some reason.
I'm running CYANOGEN MOD 5.0.5 W/ 24K THEME AND OC RANGE OF 1000-800MHZ. I have in the past run simmply stunning and smoked glass and droid mod and the desire build roms. i find cyanogen to be the smoothest and most customizable to me. I also like the updater its all very easy to use.
cons: i dont like clockwork recovery, im use to SPRecovery.
All in all CYANOGEN MOD IS THE BEST TO ME.
