I have remove them, but i loose access to the accounts and sync. i am trying to remove the correct .apk so that gtalk doesnt auto start on boot up. i dont use and will never use gtalk and i would like to rid the evo of it to help with battery. any suggestions?

I cannot uninstall Qik. I even tried the long way....menu, settings, applications, manage applications. When I click on Qik, uninstall is not an option. When I attempt to do it through the market, uninstall is grayed out.

When I go to the manage applications under settings it doesn't show up in the list. but it still appears (and works) from my standard application window.
When I go to appbrain and try to uninstall it says, "uninstall not successful".
I tried using the quickuninstall app (as suggested in another thread) but get the same "uninstall not successful" message.
I downloaded an icon pack and decided I did not want it anymore so I went and uninstalled it... but it told me that it did not work and now it shows up as installed on my phone still in the market but I can't choose install or open, they are grayed out...

Since being rooted, I thought there was a way to uninstall any program from the phone? For example K-9 mail and mobile defense are built into the ROM. When I try to uninstall them, the option to uninstall them is grayed out? Any way at all to uninstall these programs directly from the phone itself? Any root apps that can make this happen?

I've read some information on these forums that seems to indicate that the Evo comes with a lot of sprint programs installed, IE bloatware. I'm a current blackberry user and one of the perks of having one is that I was able to remove all of tmobiles useless, bloatware apps from day one so I could use the phone's memory on programs that I wanted. Now, my question is, is there is a simple uninstall feature that would allow me to unistall programs like sprint tv, sprint nav, etc? Or would I have to root the phone to be able to uninstall those apps?

Trouble is, I'd like to add even more. So is there a way to make room in my phone (not my SD card) other than uninstalling? My Hero suddenly changed keyboards on me tonight to something called Simeji (explainer below). I would like to uninistall this thing as I'm suspicious as to how it got there.
Going to settings --> Applications --> Manage Applications I can click on Simeji and there is no uninstall option. I can force stop it but it starts right back up.
I didn't download it, maybe part of an update? This is smelling very much like malware/virus. Any other Hero users have this app? I would feel better if I at least new it came with an update and not some other nasty way.
I can not play any flash content on my Incredible for some reason, it says not supported. I can see that flash is installed, but it is grayed out and I cannot uninstall to reinstall!

It coincided with Swype sending me their beta version (I had signed up to get it on their site) so I figured I would just download that. Unfortunately, it won't install because there's already another version of Swype on my phone. I tried QuickUninstaller but not surprisingly it doesn't show up in there. Any idea how to get it off my phone so I can install the newer one?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI hope this hasn't been asked before. Here is the situation. I bought a paid app (Droid DJ) and everything was fine until I was notified that an upgrade was available. When I upgraded, the app not longer worked on my Nexus One. I contacted the developer and they immediately fixed the problem and issued a new version. The problem is that the Android Market hasn't notified me of the new upgrade. I am hesitant to uninstall the app then download it again (I don't want to have to pay again). Does anyone know how this works?

It's even in a different language, it doesn't come up in the list for uninstalling or managing applications and when I use astro to track it down to the system>apps and try to delete it that way it says error.
