View 7 Replies View RelatedGot my new Samsung Galaxy S today and have been trying to get all the contacts from my T-mobile G2 Touch onto it. I have previously used VcardIo to do this with no problems. However when I take the file into the Galaxy S it shows as being 0 k. Though it is on on the G2. I have tried various programs on Market but the all seem to do the same.

View 2 Replies View RelatedOK, so I've scoured this site for any possible answers, but to no avail. When I transfered my mp3s to my Hero, most of the artist's names are listed (and their songs when you tap their name), but there is a good portion that are automatically categorized under the "various" and "unknown" categories. However, 95% of all my mp3s were acquired the same way via Lala.I've taken the sd card out and put it in my reader, and then dragged /dropped onto the card and then put the card back in. I've mounted the phone (that sounds so bad!), opened up the directory, dragged and copied my music folder to the card. Each time I've done this, I deleted all the music to start over. This is trivial I know, but for someone that is OCD like myself, it is driving me crazy having to go to either of these directories to look up a particular artist.Any ideas? Do I need a new MP3 player? Should I do something with the MP3s before I transfer?

I am trying to learn the quickest and most efficient way to sync my contacts from my iPhone to my Android Phone. I have a gmail account and thus, a google account. I know how to sync my iPhone contacts from iTunes to my gmail account (but have not done this).
THE PROBLEM: The contacts I have on my iPhone are the contacts that I want to swap over to my new Android Phone. However, i have a few hundred more contacts in my gmail account that I DO NOT wish to sync to my new Android Phone.
I guess I could sync my iPhone contacts using iTunes to a NEW, separate, clean gmail account, then upload to android, and thus have only the iPhone contacts that I want to sync appear on the new Android phone.
However, if I do this, can I then switch back to my primary, preferred gmail account, from which I can then continue to receive my e-mails without syncing all the extra contacts i have in THAT account to the Android Phone?
WHAT I AM ATTEMPTING TO ACCOMPLISH: I don't want to have to sync or merge my iPhone contacts with my existing gmail account and then have to later delete hundreds of contacts off of the android phone after I have synced the Android Phone to my primary gmail account.
Is there any way I can transfer my contacts from my iphone 3gs (ATT) to my soon-to-be Droid X?
I'd prefer to do it myself at home and not have to bring it into the store.
First time visitor to this forum. And yes, I tried searching but my PC is slowwwwww and was taking a while to get a page loaded.
I am about to go an pick up my new HTC Desire and wanted to know what the easiest way would be for me to transfer my Contacts/Emails to the new Desire from my iPhone 3gs.
Also, I play World War on iPhone, do you know if World War is available in the App store for the Desire?
So I just got a iPhone 4 as a work phone and I'd like to transfer my text messages and contacts from my Note 2 to my iPhone. Is there an app that can do this? I know there's many SMS transfer apps, but it seems like they are all for Androids only and none works for iOS.
View 4 Replies View Related1. Make sure all of your contacts from your current phone are synced up with Outlook.
2. Goto File
3. Import and Export
4. Select "Export to a file" and Click Next
5. Select "Comma Seperated Values (Windows)" and click Next
6. Select Contacts and click Next
7. Choose a destination for the file to be saved and click next
8. Click Finished
If you have excel or a spreadsheet program, go ahead and open the file. In the last name field make sure that each person either has a last name or has some letter in the field or they will not import correctly. They will just end up showing up with a phone number w/o a name. After doing this, resave the file........
i know you can type up the letters/numbers in phone mode and names will appear or scrolling up and down. is there a quicker way to do this like the iphone that automatically pops up ABCDEF...etc
i know a little bar on the right side shows up but it's not the easiest thing to use.
When a group message is sent between my co-workers, who are all iphone users, and myself (Note 3), one person in the exchange does not receive the text. This is not the common iMessage issue that was plaguing me when I made the switch from Apple to Android. This is specifically affecting one iphone user. When I send her a text individually it is not a problem. The other iPhone users don't have a problem receiving or sending to me.

View 12 Replies View RelatedI'm just getting started with mobile development, and after considerable searching I'm still confused about sending a message from my iPhone to another or an Android. For instance, in building a simple Tic-Tac-Toe game, if I want to notify the other phone of a move, what is the best way to do so? Wifi, bluetooth, 3G? And how? Many methods seem to point to communicating through a web server, but I'd rather send them directly from phone to phone if possible.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI seem to be having a sync issue with my Droid. When I add a contact to my phone, it doesn't sync into "My contacts" in Gmail; it'll sync into "All contacts". So, a couple of questions:
1) How can I get the phone to add new contacts created on my Droid into "My contacts" in Gmail?
2) I'm trying to understand the point of "All contacts". Why does Gmail want to keep a list of anyone that I've ever sent an email to? Otherwise, it'll be simple enough to just merge the two groups and call it a day.(Note: When I bought my Droid I did NOT have the VZW sales person transfer my contacts or any data from my old Blackberry to my Droid. I used Google Sync on my BB and synced my contacts from my BB to Gmail, then when I got the Droid, it automatically pulled my contacts from Gmail.)(FWIW, yes, I did a search and found two great threads: http://androidforums.com/support-troubleshooting/15042-how-do-i-push-droid-contacts-back-gmails-my-contacts.html and http://androidforums.com/motorola-droid/15069-contacts-dont-really-synchronize.html but I have a different situation than most of those guys and I'd actually prefer to sift through and merge a couple of contacts from "All contacts" to "My contacts" every once in a while than deal with a backup and factory reset.)
I have been with sprint since my first cell phone. but now I strongly consider going to ATT. why?I want to get either android phone EVO or iphone. but an Android phone would require everything data and ED costs more than ATT, for what I need:Sprint everything family Data I know these plan are not the same but for my specific situation: I need two phones and my wife does not need data. and I don't need alot of minutes. Everything Data will cost me more than double than my current plan:any solution to this? because I like sprint for its low cost plan.

View 15 Replies View RelatedI got my DroidX on 7/15 and on 7/16 linked all my phone contacts who have facebook to a facebook contact via social networking. I kike how the phone sets the picture, I like that in the contact entry it shows me thier status on facebook. What I don't like is that when I open up a contac that is both a phone contact and a facebook contact and I tap the facebook icon on the contact screen I get 3 options (view profile, write on wall, and poke). If I open up a contact that is only facebook and tap that same Icon I get 4 options (view profile, message, write on wall, and poke). Is there some reason linking the facebook contact to a phone contact needs to remove that option? I'd like to be able to send a facebook message from the phone to any contact as easy as I can send a text message.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm pretty sure it's not viable to do what I'd like to based on some initial research, but I figured it couldn't hurt to ask the community of experts here in case someone knows a way.
I'd like to create a custom field for contacts that the user is able to edit from the main Contacts app; however, the user should only be allowed to select from a list of four specific values. A short list of string values would be ideal, but an int with a min/max range would suffice.
I'm interested in knowing if it's possible either way, but also wondering if it make sense to go this route performance wise. More specifically, would it be better to look up a contact (based on a phone number) each time a call or SMS message is received or better to store my own set of data (consisting of name, numbers, and the custom field) and just syncing contact info in a thread every so often? Or syncing contacts the first time the app is run and then registering for changes using ContentObserver?
